I was pretty impressed with the writing and story here. FL does a great job looking surprised all the time but she’s got everything in hand. Good chemistry from the leads too. Very enjoyable between bigger budget long shows.

Ok I had some issues with this show early on mostly having to do with He Yan, who’s been masquerading as a man since childhood and a respected general, wasn’t very convincing when she joins as a new male recruit. And doesn’t know better to not wield a very sharp sword when drunk? Ah hem. That being said, I am now hooked this show. And that Ryan for using those eyes so meaningfully. They have each others backs in battle and everywhere else. Ep 30 killed me with the confession in front of everyone.

Well eww for accumulating a harem.

I think an alternate title could be “How Han Li avoids romantic entanglements” 🤣

While the romance is not the main focus there is absolutely a connection between the two. ML realizes his feelings a little before FL and even solicites help to confess (this does not succeed rather hilariously). Anway, you can skip some of the court politics if you want to see more romance. IMO this is one of the best power couples ever and totally worth watching those parts at the very least.

I’m really into this. I just wish there weren’t so many women making big eyes at him all the time. I get it, he’s ridiculously handsome, but sheesh. Anyway, carry on.

So. much. fun. Also I recognized Lee Byung Hun's voice so that was a big lol for me.

While I found the concept to be intriguing I don’t feel the execution was effective. A fresh version of the second chance theme where FL gets a redo BUT now she’s the sister whom she plotted against and she has to navigate around her old self. Where the story falls short is the often confusing time lines and character inconsistencies. Towards the end, it seemed like the FL should understand her own prior motivations a bit better, but that girl was a hot mess. Like gets herself in the palace as a consort but still tries to insert herself with the ML cause she doesn’t want FL to have anything. lol. Not a bad watch while I wait for other shows to binge.

I’m glad I watched despite the majority of comments. It’s not the best but it’s short and not overly complicated. ML & FL are attractive and they have ok chemistry. Yes, there is a ton of misunderstanding and amnesia (maybe) that really could have been resolved for a decent ending. But I guess those hell bent on revenge, who believe every bad thing without actual facts, well, your end is going to be bittersweet.

I’m late to the party (on ep7) and I really love ML & FL working together so well. so of course we have a big misunderstanding started by that little jealous jerk trying to break them up. Anyone want to spoil me as to how long that lasts?

The hair dangle things got out of control when they came back from finding her brother. I could only see them in her scenes, they were so distracting.

I agree. He’s very good looking but not as mature as I prefer.

The more I watch Esther in shows the more I really love her. It was hard to get past the voice but now I see the skill in how she uses it. The under the breath mutters are my favorite. This is a nice showcase for her.
