I really wanted this to be as wonderful as The Double but it just didn’t make it. I adore Duling but the character is just not as convincing. The mother/daughter dynamic was intriguing ML is handsome but does not convey emotions imo. I think the biggest delight for me was the step mother arc that redeems herself. The costumes are really beautiful and different (I have no historical knowledge of accuracy). Overall it was entertaining for me.

Finally getting to watch this. I am really not a fan of reverse harem where every man is in love with FL. And after getting her man stolen in modern time, she constantly allows herself to get close to her cousin's husband. Ewww.

I finished today and didn’t find them too bad. I think I’m getting used to the pronouns.

I really enjoyed this, especially the FL. She is smart and pretty and ambitious. The romance is pretty subtle but it is there, it’s just not the main focus. ML & FL work together well to seek justice. It is a smooth plot without many shocking twists but the pacing was very good.

I watched a BTS from Rainkissed Fate where he said he hasn’t seen a script that he likes enough to do regular. Right now he prefers short format because he can be consistent in character. I was really impressed with how intelligent and thoughtful he was in the clip.

Found this mini by accident and so glad I did. I am certainly a fan of a good mini but often the standard is not that high. However, in terms of story/plot and acting and production quality, this is right up there with Familiar Strangers, which imo is one of the best. By coincidence, the Eastern Palace is the same set as that show. The main leads here have great chemistry and a very steamy bath scene. ML makes great improvement here over Part For Ever, which was just a hot mess over all. Plenty of palace power struggle and angst without side stories and characters to bog it down.

Fans of minis and DG will enjoy this one. I sincerely don’t think his acting gets appreciated enough. And the chemistry with FL is 🔥. Add in some adorable twins and the usual crazy plots and it’s a fun watch.

I really liked this show. I’m not a fan of the flash back narrative but it does allow for suspense in the moment. FL is so smart and unflappable, ML is an equal match. I even like how FL & ML showed their mutual affection without any romance and I was ok with that until the end. I just wanted a teeny bit more whether a smile or a touch maybe?

I’m just here for ML. The abuse scenes are pretty rough so not for the faint of heart.

Yes!! I watched with the volumn low so this would not be so annoying.

I love almost everything about this show. The one thing I hate is Mu Ran Wu and any scene she’s in.

The real wise woman is actually the real Gong Wan’er.

I just started ep2 and I’m not feeling the FL is very wise at all. Hope that gets better.
