I started late, hoping to binge all the way. But I am already on 21 and decided to take a wee break. I am on 21 and we are at the, I must treat you badly so I don’t hurt you stage and it’s my least favorite thing in dramas. I will be back tho cause DW is just soo awesome.
I stumbled into this on y tube and was pleasantly surprised with the story and actors. Very handsome ML looks a bit young but he is a good match with FL. I have seen FL before and she is really stunning. The romance is quite sweet and there is minimal misunderstanding.
YBW: "I always desire to walk in pace with you, but you are always a couple of steps ahead of me."
The Queen: "This is how I show my love for you."
This is a beautifully done historical drama of a power couple and how they try to build a new dynasty together. While this show did not move/ destroy me quite as deeply as My Dearest and The Red Sleeve, this is going to hit my all time favorite kdrama list.
I haven't started this yet, can anyone tell me if I should watch the 2 prequel episodes first? I'm confused as…
I watched them after (since on Viki they are eps 13 & 14) and it worked as a sort of reflection. I am not sure how I would have felt viewing them first. Hard to say.
Not only does Mama Li fight for her daughters, she stands up for her sons-in-law too. Love her scolding of the entire Yang clan. She’s not perfect but I really love her.
One of the things I appreciate is the almost sole focus on the sister’s relationships, one at a time. Most shows try to weave them together and the attention gets split up. But this really lets you get invested in them one at a time.
I am really invested in the show and the characters. I am on Ep15 and find this odd...
The mother gets sucked into a plot by the neighbors (Cui) seemingly very easily and she hides it from the family. She is normally so quick witted and resourceful that I feel this is very out of character. Even caught off guard, (son-in-law said he would take care of the stalker) her very intelligent daughters would find a way out without being blackmailed.

This Queen is a force to be reckoned with.
