I’m not a huge fan of someone taking on the guilt of their parents and deciding to remove themselves from the lif life of the person they spent so long trying to protect and recscue. This is mostly because I can’t relate and the reason hardly ever seems justified. However, in the last episode I could understand what Sae On was feeling and reason for ghosting his wife, thanks to the very good writing. The sister did not help much and I’m not even sure how she would have known about that incident in the first place.
Does anyone know why grandfather Paik felt the need to kill rBSE and raise his son as the fBSE?
Real one was a serial murderer and grandpa was the one cleaning up the dead bodies. I guess it was handy that he had an illegitimate son of the same age to replace him.
Also it sounds like I was the only one that actually laughed when they did the dramatic reveal of 2ML because…
Sounds like you are twisting my words. If they had just let his character appear without the big, mysterious, dramatic reveal I think I would not have had the lol reaction that I did.
I am an idiot for wanting a peek at this to see if it was worth waiting for. I immediately got sucked in and now…

I’m on ep 25 and I’m kinda confused on the comments that there is very little romance. I beg to differ. It’s not the main story but it weaves into it quite a bit.
One confusion I have tho is that Jinglan found the Shu red wedding dress that was made by yingying’s father, and almost died bringing back, but she doesn’t wear it for her wedding. 🤷♀️
I peeked at ep1 to see if I would enjoy this. I have to say Dylan is really in his element here. I will for sure pick it up after the full eps drop. I am a true Joy of Life fan but I see no reason not to also enjoy this show. It's not one or the other.
This was ok but I did FF a bit with the constant scheming against M&FL. The production quality is just not as good as current shows and some of the overacting in the first episodes is dreadful.
Overall, I did like the growth and maturation of the main characters. ML learns to respect FL and her desire to use her business skills and stay in the palace. However, I was really baffled by Yu Qiao character motivation. I get that she was forced to marry Gao Yan, but she jealously refuses to let any concubine or maid near the emperor, meanwhile she throws herself at Gao Zhan every chance she gets. This made zero sense to me. At least she grows up and redeems herself before the end.
ml's piercings are distracting. , Ep 20 had under my bottom lip itching like crazy 😂
haha I noted that too. Not sure what they can do to hide them. I know a movie where they painstakingly hid them in post production but it was probably bigger budget.
I'm on ep 11 and holy wow this is a hidden gem. There is some choppy as hell editing but I'm letting it slide…
As others noted, the cgi is not great but I’m giving that a pass since the fight scenes are decent. seems like the post production budget was not very high.
For sure this one of my favorites of 2024
