This is one of those dramas that heavily suffers from the 16 episode-format. it needed to end a lot sooner than episode 16, the whole family secret and childhood destiny thing was so unnecessary and useless.
I enjoyed this one a lot when it started and really enjoyed the different cases, the problem was that the drama stopped doing that at the end and unnecessarily focued on the ML's past and issues which frankly I never cared about.
dropped at episode 21 Fated hearts was fantastic at first but the more I watched, the more predictable it became, another issue was that I didn't care about Xia Jingshi or the princess so that whole story line was stupid and boring to me, overall the story lost it's quality and entertainment value the moment ML and FL kissed and became a couple, the stuff with the king and the princess or the plot lines of Jinxiu was all just boring nonsense to me, OST was fire though.
I don't know what you mean by this sentence, but if you mean that; "it's common for people to have past relationship pop up out of nowhere and become a triangle all of a sudden" then I'm sad for you that you've been through that, cuz it's a massive red flag and you should avoid that relationship like the plague.
I felt the story went downhill when they made Gao Haiming lose his memory after his proposal. Acting weirdly got…
that's exactly where I lost complete interest, it would have been better for FL to have gone back to her world after the proposal, and they had made the CEO ML we first saw be the one she tries to force to remember.
this was a great watch until episode 19-20, after that it became stupid and not really worth the time.
overall I give it a 6/10 cuz they didn't manage to stick the landing, but the beginning parts were excellent, also the secondary couple were more boring than watching paint dry, they were just filler to pad the run-time.
PS: if anyone has a drama that has a sassy FL like this that chases after ML aggressively, let me know😘
I'm leaving this for people that might wanna watch this drama in the future:
as far as comedy is concerned, it's nowhere as funny as the second season, the main character Nae Sang is a very unlikable character to boot, he has almost no redeeming quality, so it makes it all the more difficult to root for him.
the romance is very mediocre too; there is only one good couple in this drama and the rest are either abandoned or never given a proper answer to their conclusion in the ending. then there is the whole will they/won't they? that they've got going between the 30 something years old doctor and the underage high school girl which was super uncomfortable to watch, and they don't even treat it as funny or a gag, they take themselves super seriously with it, and this whole plot drags down the rest of the drama immensely cuz they don't resolve it until like the last 3 episodes.
Then there is the unlikable doctor character that I mentioned before; they keep trying to make him seem like a genius and kind, but his actions scream of leading the poor high school girl on and on, he does this to Jin Hee too, and ends up with none of them, so it makes all the time they spent together quite meaningless, and then out of nowhere they establish Jin Hee with someone else with zero build up that screams of a last-minute writing decision.
Overall this is a very poor imitation of High Kick season 2, there is none of the charm and the comedy that we had in S2, I credit a lot of it to the child actors in S2 and the lack of any in S3, it really let it down, as far as endings are concerned; S2's ending is still complete trash, and S3 feels rushed and sudden despite it's over 100 episode length, which is another level of failure, but still they have the sense not to kill anyone off in this one.
This show is more character-driven than plot driven so if you don't feel like rooting for their character growth,…
yeah, I get that, the issue is the characters don't really appeal to me, I would have liked if FL had kept more of her fanatic fan persona after she accepted his case, or if they didn't keep trying to make me feel sad for the rich idol that had made stupid decisions and now was seeing the results.
but overall my main issue was the tone of the drama, the summary, tags and even the poster suggests a rom-com vibe but the actual drama is a festival of sadness for every character.
I had the same issue with Love Next Door, everything about it suggested a fun light rom-com but it was anything but, the comedy was flat and the romance of lackluster and forced.
I had never seen any series starring this actress before Idol Eye, but I read in the comments that she was a weak…
I wouldn't necessarily call her weak, more like serviceable, she isn't so wooden to ruin the drama but she is also not great enough to elevate it, kind of like Yoona
This is such a slow, boring drama. I don't know what it is, but I just can't take it anymore and had to drop at episode 4, I don't know if it's the pacing or the way it was shot, but each scene felt like it took forever, none of the characters are really likable either.
