"My personal advice, keep the good memory of S1 and forget there was an S2"1000% agreed. Watching S2 and seeing…
this is the review I wrote for it at the time::
What the hell was this season 2? I Finally managed to finish it, and it was such a chore, I felt like I owed it to the first season to give this one a fair shot, but it got more and more stupid and ridiculous as time went on.
This was a complete deconstruction of every character from season 1, none of them behaved like an actual human being, everyone felt like caricatures of themselves, from father kim to yohan, it felt like the writer and director had a vendetta against them and had to make them as unlikable and cringe as possible, and that brings it to my next point: this drama was hands down the cringiest drama I have ever seen in my entire life.
The comedy never properly landed, the action was mid at best, the plot was just the Father Kim team bursting at the seems with characters that the writer had no idea what to do with against the stupidest, most incompetent set of villains in dramaland history.
in comparison, the first season managed to evoke so many emotions out of the audience, the action scenes felt heavy and impactful, the comedy was perfect and on point and the plot for the most part was quite believable, in S2 the same characters that the writer had no idea what to do with had actual superpowers, like WTH? who made this stupid decision? all in all S2 managed to fail to do the bare minimum of what S1 excelled at. 3/10
They literally cannot comprehend an open ending. They want everything spoon-fed and wrapped up neatly.
"It's like with the show Game of Thrones. The ending was horrible. But does it automatically mean that the whole show was trash?"
yes it does mean that, when you're telling an epic length story, the ending is as important as your beginning, cuz it's the culmination of everything, all of those to you amazing episodes are leading up to the horrible ending, it also kills the show's rewatchability.
it would be a different story if it was episodic and everything wasn't so connected, but alas, that's not the case.
finally finished it today, it had its funny moments and there was enough fluff to satisfy me, but it was needlessly long and SFL suffered because of this, everything that she went through and all the decisions that she made were just there to pad the run time, like she did every evil thing in the book, she tried to kill FL, she betrayed her own "mom", her city and even the people close to her, and they still wanted to redeem her, do you know why? because she was needed to make the series last 24 episodes, that's all.
PS: I also had another gripe with SFL and her armor, why was it that they never washed her clothes? she always had the little blood on the white parts of her armor around her neck, and it was so annoying to see, like it's been months, don't you own other clothes? maybe that's why she went evil so suddenly and out of nowhere, lack of clothes🤣🤣🤣
i think the first one is explained by the portion with the old man. this is the job he loves and is his blood,…
I get all that, but he could clearly see that for months, it was not gonna happen, so at some point he should have seen reason and tried to look for other avenues.
If murder is the only way you can get this job, maybe it's time to look elsewhere.
and before you come at me, I do get what they wanted to portray and the message of the movie, it's just not that believable, especially for a movie that wants to be taken seriously.
I find this boring and repetitive. Every problem is solved via food, every meal she prepares is delicious, villains…
I wish her food was solving problems. that's the thing though her food was like fast food, a momentary happiness, and then they were back to their scheming and general evilness, she changed no one that was already bad.
just finished watching it, and it was quite a fun watch, there were some issues that I had with it though, like why does he only have to have the paper job? there are so many other options.
or why did he even call that old guy to prevent him from seeing his wife cheat? like what was the purpose of that?
why couldn't the music teacher secretly record the kid playing the cello so the parent could see? for the longest time I thought she was scamming the parents?
don't really get the wife hiding the secret too? isn't she afraid that he might do the same to any of her kids or even herself?
(no spoilers please)
also is it lighthearted and funny or does it take itself too seriously?
any triangle?
why the low rating?

Undercover High-school
Study group
