she doesn't even get a proper background, we have no idea why she wants the king dead.
yeah, she's just there to drive the plot.
to be fair though, most of the characters don't have any depth, even FL doesn't have much development, I think ML is like the only person that had any depth.
He wasn't even a proper Tyrant.what kind of a Tyrant listens and takes other people's advice into consideration?…
You just don't get what I'm saying, I don't care about history, in the drama they called him a Tyrant and there was nothing to indicate that, and in the title, it's called tyrant's chef, it's just misleading and false advertising, that's all I'm saying
He wasn't even a proper Tyrant.what kind of a Tyrant listens and takes other people's advice into consideration?…
OMG! he exiled someone after they insulted the king, oh! then he must be a tyrant😪are you serious, dude? you call that being a tyrant? I guess we have a different understanding of the word Tyrant, a true Tyrant doesn't wait for evidence to start his killings, all he needs is his own conviction and desire.
I also don't remember him killing a group of minister😒where did you get that from?
Just finished it and overall it was a fun watch, they did lose me a little with the out of nowhere villain, but he was too goofy to be taken seriously so that was fine. the major issue I had with the movie was the lack of romance, it's part of the genres of the movie, and it gets mentioned in the summary too, but tangibly there is nothing.
if we consider ML falling for the ghost lady as part of the plot, then it brings up the issue of that fact that he didn't fall for Seon Ji, he was just superficially attracted to her at the beginning.
If we don't consider him falling for ghost lady, and consider it just friendship, then we go back to square one with my issue of lack of romance.
Overall, it's a fun watch, and I'll recommend it if you want some laughs and a little mystery, but that's about it, don't expect romance.

from what I understand he actually did a bunch of Tyrant worthy stuff beforehand, but we as the audience never really see it happen or in his behavior(he just throws some toddler level tantrums), it's an issue of telling instead of showing, from what I remember some people in the past even said so, so it's not just from history books. the drama's also called The Tyrant's chef, so it brings up an expectation of some Tyrant behavior.
This wasn't a bad watch....it most definitely had the potential to be a great show however I believe they focused…
He wasn't even a proper Tyrant.
what kind of a Tyrant listens and takes other people's advice into consideration? what kind of a tyrant goes to investigate and letting the girl he likes rot in jail? what kind of a tyrant even is that?
I feel unfair when some people attack JungSomin for her romantic comedy roles. I watched "Love Next Door"…
Because her rom-coms are usually bad and full of annoying tropes, she picks terrible scripts.
there are a tone of other dramas that tend to stay away from these tropes, and they do very well with the audience, unfortunately she isn't in any of those, both love next door and would you marry me have the annoying ex trope.
Don’t expect anything deep.... it’s just a light, kinda silly romance. I feel like instead of that uncle plot…
how can you say it's a light silly romance, when you're mentioning so many annoying tropes? these annoyances are completely against a "light, silly" drama.
I definitely thought this was gonna be a pretty easy and fun watch but they just filled the time up with too many…
Yep! same thing happened with Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, the romance and comedy got lost in the cliché, and overdone palace plots that everyone could see from a mile away.
The two main flaws that bothered me were the team cooking battle plot and the ending. That battle was just so…
yeah, the cooking battle took way too long and in the end it was meaningless, FL's whole time-travel didn't really affect any of the plot either, she didn't really do anything, she was just there for the ride and to take a husband for her back to the future, that's it.
there's really a point to which romcoms can just get away wuth being extremely mediocre. other romcoms which have…
The stupid ex that refuses to go away trope is for me a significant clue that the writer ran out of ideas, and she's just trying to pad the run-time as much as possible, which makes me not bother with the drama. thankfully there are a lot of dramas that don't suffer from this trope.
Was really looking forward to seeing this drama and was waiting for it to finish, but from the comments I can see that it has the annoying ex, and that's a stupid trope that I will never bother watching, guess this gets the "Not Interested" status, what a bummer😡
Had to drop it at 13, I just couldn't take it anymore, it's so boring, and the episodes are quite short but again, it's so boring that it feels like it's taking forever.
to be fair though, most of the characters don't have any depth, even FL doesn't have much development, I think ML is like the only person that had any depth.
