had to drop it episode 4, ML was such a boring and bland character, I don't know if it's the actor cuz I didn't like him in head over heels either so it might be him or maybe it was the script, but he added nothing to the show, FL was acting her ass off, same with SML while ML was a nothing stick figure.
I meannnnn it says right here, romance AND comedy. Why are people talking about having to shut down their brains…
It's just haters who have ran out of excuses, grasping at straws to find a reason to justify their hate, like look at the top review on this page that's given the drama a 2/10, one of their stupid reasons for hating the drama is that it depicts an idol falling for a fan and that it's not realistic, now there are three reasons why this argument is stupid:
1: that actually happens irl, and it might be rare but it happens.
2: this is a work of fiction, who cares about realism in a drama about time-travel and destined lovers.
3: this shows that they didn't even bother to watch the drama cuz if they had actually bothered to watch the drama, they would have known that ML fell for FL way before he was an idol.
My suspension of disbelief is super high for dramas despite that I needed another episode to see King's return…
I don't try to fix bad writing with implications like you, and there was no indication of a coma, it's just that they didn't care or they could have easily had a transition from the plane to the hospital with some sad music for 2 minutes or even less, they just didn't care
Many people don’t like the cooking competition but it was okay for me. I love how the king & Ji young gets…
the cooking competition by itself was good, it's just that it takes way too long and doesn't really mean anything in the end, it was just there to pad the run-time. if this was a 30 episode drama, people would have had less of an issue with it.
I don’t understand the people on here when there is a good drama you don’t like it and when there’s is a…
if it was supposed to be lighthearted and fun then they should have kept it that way, they tried to force a bunch of serious stuff in and it ruined the flow of the drama, it was awesome until episode 4, but after they added the palace BS into it, it fell apart.
Oh and the end is so cringe. That had a good potential though. Sad.
it's not just his entourage, he himself is stupid too, he had all the evidence of her being from the future and still wasn't believing her, or questioning her to make a better future for himself
It started off strong for the first four episodes, then completely lost its spark. I honestly don’t understand…
yeah, the first 4 episodes were really good, FL could have done so much with her knowledge of the future, but she ended up being useless. I would have even accepted that her food is magic, and she's changing the "evil" people with her cooking for the better, but nope! just a meaningless illusion once they tasted the food and then nothing.
It would have been much better if she had worked with the King to stop the rebellion and change the "Tyrant"king to a "sage"king because as it stands she changed nothing, and he fucked off to the future with no explanation so he's probably still a "Tyrant" in the history books.
overall this was a fine watch, nothing out of this world or amazing, just a simple fantasy drama with lots of potential that as usual went unfulfilled.
The beginning episodes were excellent, and I loved the banter between ML and FL, but the more I watched, the more I realized the writer has no idea what he's doing.
a lot of things bothered me in this drama which I'm gonna list them here:
1. the comedy started superbly but after episode 3/4 they either forgot that this was a comedy or just gave up on it.
2. the romance was mediocre at best, there were glimpses of chemistry between the leads, but they went underutilized by the writer, they could have had FL be casual with the king and keep the way she was talking to him at the beginning, that would have not only added to the comedy, but it also would have been a reason why the king falls for her, as it stands he just fell for her our of nowhere.
3. ML as king was also quite disappointing, dude was one of the most neutered kings I've seen in a while, like either have some power or intellect, unfortunately he was lacking in both.
4. there was too much time wasted on the Mings and the cooking in general, it like 80% of the plot, which at first it was quite nice but it got boring fast.
5. the rest of the cast were more of an after-thought.
6. did not enjoy the ending one bit, having the casts look alike in modern times was stupid, and ML suddenly just being there was also stupid. I would have rathered she stayed in the past became the queen and actually changed history and made him a "sage king".
watched and that's when I realized maybe friends to lovers is not my trope and I like the female lead in other…
there was zero chemistry, the writing also lets it down massively. friends to lovers is a trope that can work really well, the issue here is that there is zero effort in making the FL fall for ML, all the love is coming from ML, and it actively feels like every time there might be a moment between them, the director cuts it too short and ruins it. it feels like the director didn't want to make a romance and someone forced them into making one against their will.
then there is also the issue of FL just coming out of a super serious relationship, and she's focused on trying to start a new career, the plot just doesn't lend itself to the romance cuz there is no way you're gonna jump into a super serious relationship right after breaking up with your fiancé, especially when you might not have the time for it when you're developing a new career, a risky relationship at that, with a friend that if not successful could ruin several friendships.

any annoying triangle or SML?
