Quite possibly THE most cringeworthy wedding scene I've ever had the displeasure of seeing in a drama.
and why the heck were Tony + Winner in attendance?! Like what am I supposed to make of THAT?! Did we enter some alternate timeline where Tony's alive and all is forgiven, or did Babe + Charlie wait until everyone was dead to exchange vows in the afterlife?
It feels like I missed something but I really don't think I did?
I don't think it was a snoozer but it's sort of falling apart in these last two episodes. They've made the supporting…
I thought Cutie Pie 2 was cute (lol) but I would've preferred it to have been a spinoff series for TutorYim's characters instead, but I guess there was no spinoff novel for them like there was for the Naughty Babe characters π
Honestly though, do you think this series would be holding up right now with two other actors in the lead roles? Zee + Nu were the reason I watched in the beginning and then I kept watching for the other two princes, who haven't gotten much play and now they're destroying what little they've built up for Ramil! This series just seems really confused as to what it actually wants to convey lol
Do you anticipate there will be a special episode? It seems like a lot of series are utilizing them now to close up their messy plots they had going up until the very last episode rather than the cute bonus episodes they were intended to be. Annoying tbh
At this point I think it's well understood that not every novel can or even should be translated to a screen adaptation and while I believe that's part of the overall fail here I think the real crux of the issue is the story is LAME and WEAK and DULL (as are its characters) and that in and of itself is so not worth a hefty investment, no matter who the leads are. Because at the end of the day it comes down to Zee + NuNew. The big investment wasn't in or for the story itself but in their attachment to the project. They were the investment. If it were any other pairing in their roles this series never would've made it past the pilot stage, if even that.
Also, was the novel written FOR Zee & NuNew? I vaguely recall reading that somewhere before the series released but it's possible I misunderstood and am now just trying to rationalize their commitment to this snoozer π because if it was in fact written for them or with them in mind then maybe they felt obligated to take it on? Let me stop π«
In any case, a whole ME$$! As much as I like Zee + NuNew together I think it's an awful business model to invest in CPs ahead of the stories themselves. Without a good story, people will lose interest, and at that point a CP's popularity can only do so much to keep a sinking ship afloat. As evidenced here!
so is this a second season then? i haven't seen Enigma i thought maybe it was a spinoff
Sequel for sure. Same main character, new scenery. It's possible they've set it up to where one doesn't need to have watched the first part to be clued in since it's just him that's the same, but we won't know until the first ep drops.
Feels like 98% percent of this season held all of the characters and/or pairs hostage in anguish. I didn't even realize until just now that today's episode would be the series finale given how unresolved things still seemed at the end of last week's episode. If there isn't a S3 in the works or a special episode (seems like more series are using these to close up shop now) that has already been filmed then I suspect we'll be getting a time jump or two and some rushed happy endings π
So between the episode stills and preview for Episode 14 it looks like Guo Cheng will have "words" with Xiao Shuai's ex. Can anyone who has read the novel tell me if this specific plot point is new to the story? Based on some comments here and elsewhere I had been under the impression that this duo's story wasn't featured much in the original novel until the bonus chapters or something, so I guess I'm curious to know if Guo interacting with the ex is new material or if it's something the character did in the novel.
Show was sadly cancelled before last episode arrived, there should be 3 episodes more π₯²I donβt know if there…
omg so the remaining episodes exist - as in filmed and completed - but just weren't released?! ugh! that sucks so much but certainly explains a lot. if only someone in production would leak the lost eps... π
I actually just started Stay With Me last night! I ended up watching the Thai version (Addicted Heroin) after commenting here, which was not that good and in a way felt more censored than this! I have higher hopes for Stay With Me though from the little bit I've watched so far!
Janine: Ugh, that was dramatic.
Janine's weirdly emotional in this exchange...

So disappointing π©
How are y'all even watching this?

Rant over for real this time π€£
wardrobe budget must have been really tight... it hit me when Yue Yue kept showing up on screen with the same dress for 98% of her run lol
