I don't know which one is the most accurate one, but for me the one that is more Chi Cheng's style is the loser…
Too true... when I was watching on Viki and saw the word "cutie" I thought for sure it was a bad translation. As soft as Chi Cheng has shown he can be for his DaBao I just can't imagine him saying that 🤣
there's talk on tik tok ep10 nc scene has been re-edited and its out, apparently on viki you can find the extended…
I'm subscribed to both the YT and Viki. Neither has updated episode 10. Heavenly is the only streaming platform with a different version and it's unclear if the version they have is actually a re-edit or if they just had a better cut of the episode from the start and it's only just been realized.
I'm leaning towards it being the latter, which if the case begs the question as to why Heavenly, a seemingly small streaming service from what I gather, would have gotten a different cut of the episode in the first place.
There is a very noticeable split second gap in the frames of all the other versions where the additional footage Heavenly has would otherwise be.
Not to be controversial, because I don't WANT a recast if it can be helped but at this point that seems unlikely and ultimately I would rather see the series continue on as planned than see it end indefinitely so...
This series is so boring it's making me MAD! I hate that it has me more invested in every other character/pair than the leads it was created for (and the sole reason this series was even on my radar in the first place!) but that's where I'm at and have been for awhile now. The urge to fast-forward their scenes has gotten unbearably real. That Chakri is usually in the frame with them is probably the only thing that's kept me from doing so ðŸ˜
Also, whoever is reasonable for editing the series needs to chill with the random focal blur! There is nothing in the background that needs blurring! It's distracting AF!
Damn, I was a clown for dropping this after the first episode because it's actually SO FREAKIN' GOOD! The painful camera flashing effect in that ep must've temporary blinded me or something.
I think your comment overlooks some important historical context. In the past, there were cancellations and real…
I'm of the opinion that previous cancellations played a factor in the decision to bring these series into production. Loopholes have long existed and are definitely in play but you don't invest in something like this on that alone and knowing the very real consequences these series can have on the actors and what not without some kind of security or commitment to believe that it will ultimately be released in some form, despite the risks. So you don't invest on loopholes just like you wouldn't invest in something if the odds of it turning a profit were not even remotely in your favor. The point here being these series keep getting made, risks be damned, so it makes more sense to believe (to me, at least) that some things have changed and/or some lessons were learned from previous attempts at releasing series of this nature than to think they keep getting produced WITH the general expectation of it resulting in a loss, be it financial or otherwise.
To be fair, Desire has not reached the insane popularity RL did within its initial release. We shouldn’t panic…
Fair. I know RL has the advantage of popularity, but the other is still being talked about and the overall theme is far more controversial so if Chinese Government were to be pressed about any series surely it'd be that one. Of course they could always come for both though. I think if anything (cancellation) happens to RL it would likely be as a result of limited resources seeing as how RL is relatively low budget whereas the other series has the advantage of significant financial backers, which naturally affords them a luxury of peace of mind that the RL team wouldn't and probably have.
Not to offend anyone but the doom and gloom cancellation fears and panic seem a bit out of place now that there's…
Also, from what I've seen reposted on socials the actors of that series appear to be fairly active in promoting it (often while paired up) seemingly unphased. Then again, they haven't been chased down and harassed at the airport (yet... as far as I know) so I suppose those things can change.
Not to offend anyone but the doom and gloom cancellation fears and panic seem a bit out of place now that there's another Chinese series airing with a theme of M-PREG! 🤣
like I think the snake guys are safe by default 😂
The girl on the couch beside Sheng(?) in the beginning who kept playing with her hair and nodding her head along to the conversation he was having with the other guys was so awkward ðŸ˜
re: the voiceovers... is it a result of the screen actors re-recording audio in post or different actors voicing the material entirely? If the latter, does anyone know why that would be? Is it common practice in c-drama productions?
All the Auralis need to get on X(twitter) and demand change! Please use the tag -- #JusticeForSmart #SmartDeservesBetter…
I think it's too late tbh... GIR's newest statement admits they were done with everything in April, a few weeks shy of posting their strange original statement and while the series was still airing. They also say HL made an attempt to renegotiate a new contract with them last month followed by another attempt 2 weeks ago. GIR met both attempts/proposals with rejection.
At this point I believe GIR was either trying (and failing) to play hardball for a better deal for themselves or they were seeking something wildly unreasonable in renegotiations because I find it most difficult to believe the WeTV side of the equation wouldn't make way to give Smart and co. whatever more they wanted as long we it was within reason, if only to keep the series moving forward and to avoid a public spectacle.
GIR claiming they were able to break contract free of consequences due to something that allegedly happened is interesting though, if true. Like how flimsy was this contract or how major was the alleged happening? So major they were willing to outright break (instead of properly initiating a renegotiation) an otherwise good deal in April but also not terrible enough to still be alluding to the possibility of working things out.
my own is if they were to do S2 without smart , they should introduce a new character , cos no one can replace…
That would make sense if this had been a series with an original story but it's not - it's an adaptation of a preexisting story, world and characters. You do not buy an IP to a story and its characters only to make them go poof in favor of writing in new ones. At that point the story you invested heavily in is no longer the story you're telling, so what did you really even buy? Aside from being a terrible and illogical business move it would also be offensive to the original creator and a slap in the face to fans of the original source material and previous adaptations.
So realistically, only two options remain: recast or scrap future seasons altogether
So is a second season of the series totally dead with this Smart news? Or is he just done as Jin?
As disappointing as the idea of a Jin recast is, I find the prospect of the series not getting its rightfully earned chance to continue storytelling on account of this unfortunate situation even sadder, so I hope WeTV does what they need to do for the overall good of the series. Even if it hurts 🥺
It's in a way giving shades of KinnPorsche's success + untimely demise. And by that I mean, it doesn't matter who one felt was to blame because in the end EVERYONE (actors, fans, crew, investors, etc.) suffered from the implosion. Thus it would be awful for Top Form's future as a potential continuing series as well as those still committed to their roles within it to see a fate similar to the KP collective. If the situation can be helped in any meaningful way to keep things going then I hope for the sake of everyone involved that it does continue.
"To me, you're just a little loser."
"You're just my little loser
I'm memorized by your loser aura."
Viki E10 subs:
"In my eyes you're just a cutie."
"You're my cutie
What fascinates me is your vibe."
RL YT E10 subs:
"To me, you're just a lovable dork."
"You're my adorable dork.
What I fell for is exactly that dorky charm."
WHICH IS IT ðŸ˜

WHO would be a worthy recast for Jin?
