I agree with you that the ML has contributed to their rift in relationship but what I am complaining is the writers to create such animosity despite Shuyi’s clarification over the miscarriage, brother Shen’s suggestion to rekindle her love. Everyone makes mistakes and it is normal in the couple to grow a bit a part. But why do the writers have to give her the most hurtful words towards him. Now, I understand that she is playing another person but does she shave to ignore aunt Qi who loves her as her own daughter and Beicheng’s dad who protected her whilst her father was imprisoned? I know that she kind of not listened to aunt Qi upon her return but yet I have found the novel much less crual and I was really rooting for the couple to get back together. After having seen the recent previews, I am wondering whether she has ever loved Beicheng even though I do not like his shortcomings?

Yes, they have a son after he raped her and then she ran away. When she came back she was kind of keeping an eye on him just because he is the father of child. Hence, she was not as mean to him as in this drama.

It pains me that the writers created such a toxic love. She was not as crual as this in the novel. We will discover that she would use so many mean things to him in the next few episodes. I mean I understand her pain of losing a child and that her husband thought that she was cheating on him. But to see his pain does she not have a glimpse of empathy for the man that you used to be??

If that happens then I have never seen anything quite like it. She has never realised that the real enemy is the SML and not her husband. Writers why???????

I understand where you are coming from. I have seen some previews of the next episodes where she admitted of her real identity but said she is no longer the old Hanjing and it is best for them to go separate ways. Yet, when her fake family got exposed but some informants ( either the SML or SFL), she took the child and nanny into hiding and it was Beicheng again that came on time to save her & child. Beicheng risked his life & family’s reputation to save her and she thanked him and said she would find a way to leave. Really writers? How could you write such a heartless character in this drama???No wonders many fans hate Hangjing at this point. It hurts me. In addition, there will be scene where the SML trapped Beicheng & his men into an explosion and she was about to run towards the SML as soon as she hears his name mentioned by Beicheng so I am not quite sure whether she would run to save the SML or save her husband she hates so much, come on writers????

So Shuyi came to clear the air with Hangjing and told her about the root cause of her miscarriage. Hangjing went back and confided in brother Shen. He persuaded her to go back to Beicheng now that she knows that it is not his fault that she lost the baby. She then told brother Shen that there are too many holes in their relationship and does not feel that they could go back together. Meanwhile, Beicheng is attempting the last time to confront her about her identity. Sphere was an explanation how she ran away in the inn and dropped her earrings by accident when she got out of the inn and the inn’s owner picked the earrings up. By the time Hanging came back to the inn, a fire broke out at the inn and killed the peoples including the lady who picked her earrings. Hanjing was so heartbroken after the loads of her baby that she saw Beinching running to the inn on fire and in tears but she still decided to leave Beicheng and jumped to brother Shen’s car by accident. He drove her away and it was how she disappear. To this point, the scrip writers have been torturing us. Fast forward to today, Beicheng tried to ask her about her real identity and Hangjing still denied that she is brother’s Shen’ wife. 😭, really writers why?? Then he said to Hanjing, I had a dram and now I am awake and conceded defeat to let her go and told her that “you go and please don’t appear in front of me”, she then left the bridge where they first came out and flew the lanterns up the sky. She cried but still persisted to walk away. Why, writers I know that their love story in the novel has been a torture for me but why making them destroy each other like that. F apologies for ranting but these writers, are you on weeds or something.

In the novel, Beicheng was badly injured in the battlefields and was saved/nursed by à his enemy’s sister from the south army. She is in love with him and has gone at great length to hurt herself so as to obtain the right médecine from her brother to save Beicheng. She even expressed her love to him but he has never taken advantage of her because he only loves Hangjing. He later left her house as soon as recovers. At the end of the novel, it is said that she has give half of her life dedicated to love him (nearly 17 years) whilst he has given her a dozens of days. That was the time when he was in coma and recovery time.

So I stumbled on a video on YT and it is mentioned that the little boy is critically ill which requires blood transfusion and His blood matches Beicheng’s one so Hangjing panicked. I don’t know whether it is true but that would be a great twist of plot that he is Beicheng’s son. In the novel, Hangjing & Beicheng’s have à son and brother Shen also a son.

I wouldn’t say that she does not love Beicheng. What I was hoping for the writers to do was to give her the chance to seek for the truth herself of her miscarriage instead of being gullible and listen to all the BS o from the SFL, maids or any strangers and running away and faking her death. In that sense, the writers did not show any intelligence in her personality. Hence, many fans complain about their dislike of the FL. I still enjoy her personality despite her shortcomings.

Well, the SML died around the middle of the novel. The ML shot him when he tried to run away with the FL but he survived the first time. He was out of the picture for a bit and came back as a gangster. The FL met him again when brother Shen/ Hangjing pretended husband got kidnapped by the SML’s gang who also collaborated with the Japanese. She came to Beicheng asking for his help to save brother Shen given that brother Shen saved Beicheng previously from death. Beicheng’s men killed the SML and then the FL decided to get married with Beicheng. What annoys me in the plot of this drama is when she comes back after declaring that she loves him and will never leave him but yet there is a scene in a park where he said that he was heartbroken after her fake death and she went to tell him we are two different souls so I would suggest you to move on with your love life. I mean what kind of writing is that. It sounds really cruel to me 😢.

I have tried to be balanced on my view with regards to Hanjing’s character. Whilst I do like her as an actress but the writers have not done her any justice as you could see a quite a few fans have complained about her actifs, the way how she disregards her husband’s good intentions. The thing is her character in the novel is very stubborn, strong and the same goes for Beicheng who is violent, possessive and taking decisions for her without consulting her. Now in the drama, the writers have changed drastically the relationship here when she agreed to get married with Beicheng early on and considers the SML as a friend plus plus which created tension between the couple and then heartbreaks for the ML and the way she behaves is very erratic & immature. In the novel, she was in love with the SML from the beginning and has hated the ML. The ML had to learn to adjust to her and gain her love whereas here she is married to Beicheng early on whilst still thinking of the SML. Hence, it creates the misunderstandings and lack of trust between the couple. I see some glimpses of brilliance in her performance as a wife but not credible as a spy. For those that hate her behaviour with Beicheng may be unfair as her character is like that in novel minus the yo-yo back & forth with the SML and no spy missions. She definitely loves Beicheng in the novel but towards the end. I feel that the writers of the drama are on weeds with certain plots but hey how do I know.

The kid is his with another woman but it is not quite clear in the drama. In the novel she is his tutor/nanny. He calls her mum because he has lost his mum if i am not mistaken and she had been taking care of him when he was sick. He is a sickly child if my memory is correct.

No, she is not married to brother Shen. They are pretending to be a couple as they have joined the communist party to fight the Japanese invasion and the warlords that are doing trafficking/drugs and supporting the Japanese.

Jin Xiang (her assistant) & Hangjing have finally met in Beicheng’s house. Jin Xiang cried and recognises her young lady straight away but Hanjing is still on her undercover mission and tries to not know her. Aunt Qi asked Jin Xiang whether it is Hanjing but has to lie for Hanjing, 😢. Daddy Xiao & the twins are gone ( same as in the novel) and now the writers have also killed Mr/Brother Shen off, why? I really hope that they do not give us an open ending as in the novel because it has been a rollercoaster so far.

Yes, true , in the novel after they reconcile and he was about to trick her to send her on the boat to the US, he told her that he only loves her in his entire life and if I am not mistaken, there was this sentence in the trailer.

I've got to say Beicheng has been a bit more measured, calmer with Hangjing since her return. He really loves her and he is always sad and absent at times when she is not around. No man would be as patient as him and so much in love with her though. I love the scene in the next episodes, he came to her room to check on her when there was a storm and lightning outside. After the conversation with her and she closed the door and just sat outside of the door so that he could rescue her in case she calls him. He looks so sad and hesitant to take off and put his wedding ring back on. So heartbreaking and it just brings me back into the novel to his state of sorrow before they reconcile. It is quite well done here and bravo to Beicheng as a good actor and a handsome one.

Like in the novel, I think the boy is Mr’s Shen son as there was another scene later on where Mr Shen advised Hangjing to get back to Beicheng after their undercover mission. He told her ha5 every year around the date of the death of the baby you are sad and making baby clothes and that he could see that she still loves him if I am not mistaken as in am learning Chinese.

I can’t believe I am watching this again. Heanjing just saw the SML from her car and jumped out of the car to come and greet him. Beicheng came just in time to break in the encounter. Hanjing, Still playing as if she is Mrs Shen and not knowing Beicheng. Please writers stop torturing us with these already.
