So Jelly Lin (who plays Yinzhang) posts on the wall during her live stream: āI didnāt turn evil! (In the drama)…
I think in the ep21 preview, Qianfan has warned his father Xiao Quinyan to not interfere in their relationship and brought Panāer to his mumās tomb to introduce her to his future wife. The scene is really sweet, just love it.
So, Iāve kind of re-watched the episodes and realised that in the 1st episode where Panāer & Qianfan have first met and she purposely dropped the tea cup she was about to offer him when she heard & saw the gold badge of the Capital Security office.
Then, she kind of put the laxatives in their tea afterwards and hehe had to reveal her identity to Qianfan. I was wondering whether her hatred of the Capital Security Office had something with Lei Jing, the eunuch (Qianfanās boss) being corrupted & colluding with the officials of Jiangnan where Panāer had her tea house and blamed it on her father. That perhaps explains the reason why she was sent to be a slave/prostitute of officials.
In episode 12 where Qianfan secretly met with his uncle GU , high ranked military officer from his mother side giving him the evidence of Lei Jingās collusions with the officials of Jiangnan (Panāerās father wrongly being framed by Lei Jing?). Perhaps, Qianfan might be able to clear her familyās name and marry her afterwards.? Thoughts?
Can anyone elaboarte about the history .? The peroid of Song ? Southern Song? Where was the Capitol? Was the eastern…
My limited understanding of Chinese history is that the Song Dynasty ruled between 960 to 1280. During the period 960-1129, the capital of the Northern Song was the north city of Bianjing ( the dramaās tittle is referring to sometimes) which is called Kaifeng today. After having lost control of some part of the northern part, the Southern Song dynasty established the capital around Hangzou. Part of episode 6 occurred in Huating county which is in the east of the Gansu province. Now, from this episode Panāer was heading to the capital but then the official at the Huating county that intervened in the court case against Zhou She and helped Panāer was mentioning that he would write a referral letter to the Zhengzhouās music academy for Yinzhang. I conclude that the capital was Hangzhou and the drama occurred during the Southern Song Dynasty era. I would welcome any native Chinese fans to correct me if I am wrong.
Pan'er basically threatened Ouyang that unless he fulfills the conditions on the "divorce agreement" he would…
Agreed, for a smart scholar, he would not even try to dig a bit deeper and understand Panāer feeling. What he wants is to marry into wealth and status whilst using & playing with Panāer feelings. There was a scene where he was truing to strangle Panāer and kill her in future episode I assume.
The dialogue between Panāer & Qianfan in ep3 is absolutely hilarious when he got exposed by the boat captain for jumping in the water to save Sanniang. He was trying to care for Panāer as he thought she was pregnant and she just honestly told him that she lied to the captain that the baby was his and just casually mentioned what is wrong with telling a few lies to save him & her friend. He just casually replied back weāll let him be the father. Their look at each other, gesture & conversation are quite subtile to me.

Fully agreed with your thinking, a man that is quietly betraying his love for career and status is a no go for Panāer who is true to her words, kind hearted and faithful. I saw some snipes on Weibo that he is trying the emperor to implement a law that would forbid any woman to be a shop owner which basically wipe out Panāer chance of survival.
It is long drama so I donāt recall everything. I need to rewatch the series but she decided to marry him in…
In the novel, they were not married at the beginning. She was in love with Mu ZiCheng. Beicheng raped her and she tried to run away with Mu ZiCheng. Beicheng shot him the first time but he survived and he became a gangster and collaborated with the Japanese doing some trafficking businesses. She managed to run away from the Xiaoās familyās who was still very good with her. She gave birth to Nangui but the child was premature so she had to go to the US to treat her son. That was where she met brother Shen. She then worked for brotherās Shen as a tutor/nanny of his son. She came back with brotherās Shen but left her son behind in the US with a nun who has been helping her all along since her pregnancy. I suppose in the novel, she wanted to tell Beicheng about Nangui but she was hiding and played up by telling Beicheng that she was married to brother Shen but in reality she was not. She only told him towards the end when Mu ZiCheng was killed by Beichengās men as he was involved in the kidnap of brother Shen. She started to become reasonable and told him that they have a son together. After that, the situation in Beixin city was quite dangerous as they got attacked by the Japanese & south armies. Beicheng has arranged for Hanjing and her parents to live China to the US. She has decided then to stay behind with Beicheng as she starts to learn to love him. She was staying with Beicheng for a bit but he was injured in the battlefields and he drugged her and sent her to the US. Whilst in the US, Hanjing did not know whether he was still alive or dead but so his photo in the newspaper saying that he was missing. She was crying and her son was asking why & who was she looking at on the newspaper. It is exactly like in the drama. Whilst back in China, Beicheng was injured & captured by the young sister of his ennnemy from the south army. She was in love with Beicheng, she was nursing him till his recovery. She declares her love to Beicheng and wants a child with him. However, he never took advantage of the young nurse as his love is with Hanjing. When he started to recover, he left the young nurse house with his assistant Mo Weiyi. We did not know whether they manage to reunite afterwards, hence the open ending. In comparison with the drama, at least we have some hope with Hanjing saying to Nangui that āIām sure we will find papaā.

No, unfortunately. She was about to tell him about her pregnancy but she fell asleep as he drugged her so as to send her on a boat abroad. In contrast with the novel where she told him about their son who is already born when she came back. Hence, in the drama Hangjing and Nangui, their son are heading back to China looking for him.
It's like a fanfic....š Love éč±ē· as BMG.....
Some fans even wrote next chapters of the drama. Iām really impressed as there seems to have an active conversation about novel & then the drama. I try to check their posts when time allows.
My recollection from the novel is that aunt Qi was a concubine when she got married with daddy Xiao. Gosh, I do…
Yes, I ām glad that peopleās mentality has moved on. What I like about China & the Asian culture is it is very family oriented and there is some respect of hierarchy in terms of age, grandparents, parents, big sister & brothers, teachers etc. Having grown up in the west, Iāve found this very important to our culture.
