Nope I have never heard ZLS and Esther Yu being friends. Those were just not fake profiles, they promote their works the whole year, they are just not an account made, they are really active. Few days back as well when ZLS came as a guest in Wang Hedi's music concert, it lead to fights between Esther Yu's fandom and ZLS. Its not a new thing and they were considered competitors hence their fandoms are always at odds.

They have a happy ending in the novel world but later when die of old age they transmigrate back. They do remember each other and reunite. Actually due to censorship rules of China some dramas are forced to do that. But these days the makers are smart and have found loopholes like they ended it well for ADWAD and My Page in the 90s, so yeah hopefully it follows the suit as well.

Things might get angsty later, when ML's illness causes him a lot of pain and hence make him behave like a tyrant. But things will end well, they have a partnership. SFL later supports them.
Empress Dowager dies after defeat. Prince Duan gets imprisoned and dies later in jail. Crown Prince tries killing ML and FL hence is kept in house arrest forever. ML and FL have a happy life together as Emperor and Empress. ML gets cured of his poison. That's a happy ending of the novel.
ML after spending a long, dies first, and transmigrates back to the real world, 10 years back when he was a kid. He grows up in the real world with all his memories, takes right decisions, is smart, hence becomes a CEO of a company and waits for FL. FL dies later in the novel world transmigrates back to the subway. They meet, and get reunited. Hence a happy ending in the real world as well!
