The person who did it is dead. But who planned the event, like the mastermind was hinted to be Jinmu, but it was not told directly or shown. Hopefully in the last 2 episodes we get the answer.

Hahaha, I can't believe I convinced someone. You know I think she looks so pretty, and actress is so brilliant, it is leading us to buy into her sad story. I love her I absolutely do. If I could keep my morality at bay, then she should be able to achieve everything. Leave her son out of this, rather sit on the throne Queen, keep PM and ML as your male concubines. Lol.
I want to disagree to a certain level. QM could easily take a different path. Greed for power is one thing, but being that toxic abusive to your own son, telling her husband to die rather than passing her throne to his brother. Being evil to your childhood friend. Maybe she doesn't deserve death, but forgiving her for everything she did, nope. I can understand her forceful marriage. But she gained a lot of power after becoming Queen then Daebi mama, how could she not see that how much miserable her son became due to her. She thought she killed her husband and still gaslighted her childhood friend for years blaming him. I love her though. I am these days watching only for her. I hope she gets a fruitful end, be it a good redemption or a death whatever, because her character arc was so brilliant, a good end would complete it.
But yes why I think SML or her would die because they are the major characters after the leads. So if a death happens as said by Steve Noh, then it should be a major character. A death that strikes the mind of the audience. That's why I think its either of them.
It would've been nice if the leads were actually villains of their times as presented in the synopsis, or at least…
I agree. I have always wanted a plot like 2 villains falling in love. But honestly I bet they would never give us such a plot. Because they have to go through the regular route, if they are villains they got to get defeated by the end.
