Yeah there is a risk of things being rushed in the end. They also have failed to create suspense about Fan Changyu's identity, like hints were in 2 episodes initially in the village, but then it has absolutely died down.
Its not their mistake, 40 episodes is not enough for the drama plot wise.

Okay I think they should add a minute or two of Wei Yan, in every episode, considering he is a very important character. Like we are not even aware of the plots or the palace circumstances currently at the moment.

Yeah I read the novel. But other people also told me, that both the hostage and food is with the Xie Army, otherwise they should have the shown the scene where Sui Yuanqing gets rescued. So it seems like a confusion. Hopefully it gets cleared tomorrow.

Is there a translation error? I am not sure, I don't understand Mandarin. But there was no scene of her giving Sui Yuanqing back to them. I think she exchanged his ability to have heir, in return of having food. Because I even saw them taking Sui Yuanqing away as soon as the enemies threw arrows. Maybe someone can clarify then.

Exactly. Its like people are taking sides due to a gender. I mean both characters have made mistakes. ML was wrong to hide his identity, but he did it due to his insecurity. FL is wrong to make such a reckless move but she successfully got the food. But she is simple minded and needs to understand the military rules.
This is not that hard to understand. People do not always need to take sides, they can try to understand characters choosing to do something standing in from their perspective.

No she did not. She brought him back. I think you misunderstood or something. Just give a rewatch. She told the enemies she will castrate him, if they don't send food. They do, she brings him back. He is again imprisoned. He is not traded.

The strategist said the same thing in the novel at least, and I agree. But she is reckless, so she has to get her lessons. But she will learn eventually.

I am sorry but this is not a dumb move. She is just simple minded. Did her move cause anything bad? She gained food without loosing Sui Yuanqing. This move was reckless, but she is not dumb at all. She just has to learn the military ways, rules.

Loosing the bear scene made my heart break.
But humiliation of Sui Yuanqing repaired my heart. Huhh, it gave me so much peace.

Also though the absence of Qi Min in the last two episodes did reduce toxicity which I liked, but I miss Deng Kai's scenes a little. Huhh conflicted.

Yes. But this was a smart move. She used him as a bait, but got food, she did not actually exchange him. So its a smart strategy. But this might not work every time, hence the military rules are important.
But we lost the bear scene. Let me cry.
