Nope I have never heard ZLS and Esther Yu being friends. Those were just not fake profiles, they promote their works the whole year, they are just not an account made, they are really active. Few days back as well when ZLS came as a guest in Wang Hedi's music concert, it lead to fights between Esther Yu's fandom and ZLS. Its not a new thing and they were considered competitors hence their fandoms are always at odds.

They have a happy ending in the novel world but later when die of old age they transmigrate back. They do remember each other and reunite. Actually due to censorship rules of China some dramas are forced to do that.
