How do people even manage to create a controversy about lack of historical whatever in a frigging FANTASY? It…
100%. Actors shouldn't have to apologize. The witch hunt is atrocious. Like I am not trying to normalize it at all. Its just that this isn't the first time, like in my country, lead actress was given death threats, threats to cut off her nose, actors posters and models were burnt, for a minor thing. All these things are pathetic. And honestly this is not the work of majority. This is actually a minority section of people who are very loud and try to manipulate people.
This is the problem, there are so many other things in our countries, but they give so much relevance to smaller things like this. They think its national crisis when its not. Our countries are not able to put criminals in jails, but they spent time doing weird things. Actually it also gives them publicity.
Most people you know do not think like you and me. Most of the general audience only consider actors, they are the drama's face, so all love or hatred is directed towards them. Most of them don't even know director's name. Its lack of knowledge.
Its bad, I remember Joseon Exorcist was cancelled after 2 episodes as well, same reason.
Instead of reacting so much after the drama ends, I don't know they should have an authority who checks and recommends changes before the drama could air.

As of a few days ago 38,000 people in Korea signed the petition to get PC removed from OTT. If 50,000 people sign…
Last night it was actually 48K signs already.
They should have let it go by cutting that scene off, and an apology on the part of the production house.

How do people even manage to create a controversy about lack of historical whatever in a frigging FANTASY? It…
I get you, but honestly even though its fantasy some stuff should be accurate. Using 9 tassled crown or wrong chants is pathetic, and lack of knowledge on the part of the production. The Northeast project is a sensitive topic for Korea and rightfulltly. What's wrong is the witch hunt of the actors. I mean if this was China, they would have erased past and future works of all the actors boycotting them. Countries in Asia who have fought to preserve their culture, with people being killed for it, are really sensitive to historical inaccuracies, yes even in a fantasy where they showed a king. If monarchy is not abolished in the drama they should have followed the right procedure of coronation that was the norm.
Korea has cancelled a drama before as well while it had aired only 2 episodes, not the first time.

An apology should fix it. No one intended to do the mistake. They should check it properly from the next time before airing any drama.

In episode 11 of Perfect Crown, in that coronation scene of new King, BWS wore 9-tasseled crown and people chanted…
Re-shoot is impossible, I don't think its feasible. They already muted the chants which were wrong. As for the beads, just use AI, one second scene. They can cut it away as well, but important scene, so just use AI.
I mean I am never in favour of using AI in dramas, but this seems a perfect time. Use in emergencies.

I don't think they will be able to erase it. I mean its just not MBC's alone. Disney is involved. And why will Disney listen to them. Maximum they might not allow it to show it in Disney Korea, but the rest world, I don't think Disney will allow a loss like considering it got immensely popular across nations.
They might take away the subsidy given though, I saw many articles saying tax payers money went into giving subsidy to this, and as it is against their history, then it should be taken away. That's on MBC and the production house, they also might face licensing issues for further projects.
But to erase a project of this scale in this era? Its impossible.

While I have fond memories of this show, I don't feel this was the best drama out there, but the hate it got, much before the entire historical inaccuracy thing came in forefront, was tremendous. I don't understand why people were so jealous or wanted to tarnish it, but whatever. The actors worked hard and any kind of witch hunt is very pathetic.
But I, as an international audience, am not in any position to say Koreans are over reacting to it. Its their history, their country. Northeast Project is a sensitive topic for them, so them demanding apology, changes, penalties or anything against the production house is absolutely not wrong.

The actors deserve better though.

I just remembered even King Eternal Monarch was cancelled in Korea or hated there for similar reason, while I loved it. I think they should stop making these fictional monarchies in 21st century, always a problem comes out. Or just get it checked by the authorities or something before releasing it to the public.

What just happened to this drama. Even though I didn't like the plot entirely. The cast HAVE WORKED VERY HARD.…
In episode 11 of Perfect Crown, in that coronation scene of new King, BWS wore 9-tasseled crown and people chanted "cheonse" —that historically depicted Korea as a tributary state to Imperial China rather than an independent empire. It should have been 12 tasseled crown and the chant should have been Manse.
Critics strongly objected to the show's 2 billion KRW subsidy from the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), demanding refunds since the money was financed by taxpayers.
A petitioner has demanded the government to take down the drama and its content from OTT and elsewhere. They said Kdramas are worldwide popular and this shows them in bad light so.If it gets 50k signs before June 21, the National Assembly's standing committee will formally review the entire thing, and do what they deem is correct, like either take it down, or penalize it, or ask for changes etc.
Till now more than 48k signs has been done already, so it seems the committee will review the entire thing.
This is really sad.

They won't????? I thought they would be a couple. What about Kang Han Na?
Yes actually I am following Namjun since when the phone rings. I am not as disappointed as others, because it should be an important character, I do not have any lead fascination. But yes people did say his character was more important than the main lead, though I don't think they will follow it in the drama considering ML here is popular than him. But lets see.
Thank you so much for the details❤️

To get the perfect shot of SUNSET-on-the-beach, you don't do it in February, that's for sure! Even in April, it…
Yeah possible. Its said the last date of filming was April 29th, and it was this wrist kiss and lip kiss scene in yellow dress, and some more shots in upcoming ep 7. They actually said that, after your comment I remembered it. The actors in Salon Drip's interview said that the beach scenes were beautiful but they were really tough to shoot, because of the weather, water, etc.

To me, the point of him mentioning that she can't separate personal and professional is a projection. He was frustrated…
I really love how you make your points.

Ahh, I get it. Oh my God I really wanted Namjun's character to end up with Seungyeon's or even Kang Hanna. Really good actors. Thank you so much for the deets.
One question, is Namjun's character romantically involved with the female lead, and does he die?

So they shoot the beach scene at the very end of filming? That's why there is so much chemistry in it😌
No no that I am not sure of. I mean one or two maybe, for a small scene or something. But crew generally do not pose as actors. Also in the show it was shown that the resort is in Jeju, in reality it may or may not be. Its an indoor shoot, we don't know when it was shot. The scene where they she grabbed his hand, they kissed, upcoming next episode beach scenes in yellow dress- all that was the last filmed. Like they are generally given flower bouquets and the crew and actors click picture together, so that's in the beach in yellow dress. Rest no one is sure of.

Well they gave it the prime time slot. In fact, it aired same time in competition with a drama like Perfect Crown…
No no I did not mind it at all. I get it completely 🤝
