Murong Qingyi in Overdo was not toxic. Cheng Ao in Footprints of Change was not toxic. I have seen only these two before, TLOA being my third Republican genre drama.
The 40 episodes is divided into many arcs and few years actually. In the first arc, is him being 22 and her being 18. The first arc is him being a brat, a manchild. He grows up, both of them do, he goes to war, gets better understanding of the world, sees the world for what it is. He grows than just being a spoiled brat of a rich family. The entire drama is his character journey and growth. They is just the start. Now if he improves in a satisfactory way or not, its yet to see. Remember even more than half of the drama is left. But this is not me defending what a piece of shit YCX currently is, btw.
Oh he will, we will get to see him tormented to death, we have more than half of the drama left. But no I am looking forward to the character redemption too honestly because its fiction.

For sure you can, you can discuss everyone who is part of this drama. Zhang Linghe is not part of this drama. If you think drama coordinator did a good job here, and you would like him/her to work with ZLH, then say that in his face, you are criticizing ZLH's acting in a drama page which is not even his drama. No you don't realize how much we as a fandom have suffered since years. You can like or dislike an actor's acting, that's your perception, but he is not in this drama. If you have see problem of acting for actors of this drama, for sure bring it up. But this is really bad. Be it Weibo, be it X, everywhere its just unnecessary competition, and toxicity. But this is a drama page, to discuss drama and characters only.

Yes do that. The thing is this era was actually short of 3 episodes, but because its weekend, and Mango releases 1 ep per day during weekend, the angst continues. This would have been over in like 1.5 days if it was in normal week days, they did this deliberately.
