Ep 36 is so good, not only everyone was shown, the screentime is balanced, and we got some great excellent moments between our leads. Very nicely done.
This!! This was a point I hated. They changed his character.
While I don't believe in redemption of Qi Min, because despite his reasons, he had done way more harm, but I just think the appropriate representation of him should have been shown. Like I prefer the twisted villain over a simp of his wife. The actors had visible chemistry, it looked addictive, but at the end it was abuse. So instead of having so many of those scenes, they could easily show us the Qi Min's background in a better way.
They would reveal it why FL has those kills, in few episodes later. This is based of a female centric novel. While…
No absolutely not. ML is really intelligent, scheming and powerful. But when it comes to battle scenes, FL has got more of that in order to show her growth, ML is already established. But at least from my perceptiion it doesn't take away ML's shine. So many people are enjoying it, so hopefully you would do too.

In the novel, Prince Changxin's consort, and Sui Yuanhuai's mother died in the palace fire. They kept her alive here. Firstly its really weird to me that a woman who is alive and well, can recognize a child as not her own, and doesn't reveal the truth? I mean yeah have sympathy but why not tell that to your own husband? But then she said she had pity on him, let him live well, and he killed her. In the novel, stepmom was a bad person, he always received hatred from her, and hence I felt it was okay, but here? I also have problem with the fact that the drama never showed that Qi Min and Qian Qian both were drugged to have the child. They just show him kidnapping and sleeping with Qian Qian. As much as I agree the actors have chemistry, we needed to have scenes more important as a character of Qi Min. In the novel, despite him doing things, I understood where he came from, the reasons for it, but the drama didn't show it properly. They butchered his character, and as you said made him unreasonable.
I’m a few episodes in, and it’s going really well. I saw the battle scene where the FL took out all those…
They would reveal it why FL has those kills, in few episodes later. This is based of a female centric novel. While we absolutely love ML for what he brings to the table in the drama, but its possible what you would see, does not meet your needs. The plot heavily delves on the journey of the FL. When the story starts, ML is already revealed to be a person with valour, a person who has reached a high position, so the drama doesn't delve on that a lot. He has his scenes, but FL has more.
if i remember correctly, his unc tried to kill him. As for his mother, i think it was implied that she did not…
It was revealed later in some episode, that Wei Yan did not try to kill ML. It was Wei Xuan. ML doesn't know that though, he thinks his uncle wanted him dead for investigating the case.
I might have missed this but what's the (character chart) relationship between the two sui brothers and to the…
There is no link mentioned in the character chart. In the novel, it was said, that the father of Sui brothers, Prince Changxin, was a member of royal family, supposedly a cousin of the previous emperor. Prince Changxin's family surname is Sui, and not Qi, so I think Prince Changxin's mother maybe a Princess, a Qi, who married a Sui. Otherwise Changxin cannot have a prince title. This makes Sui brothers, second cousins of the present emperor and princess royal.
They did away with Meng Shuyuan's character ig, they did not even mention it once.
Right I forgot that part, her father did marry to her mom's family. Its okay let's consider Fan Changyu only, her dad despite being a Wei, is not related by blood. Xie Zheng is more Wei than them honestly, firstly he is technically half Wei, then his characteristics, nature, behaviour, and especially good looks all are like his uncle so...

Even in the novel, though she got recognized as Meng, but through her father she would be a Wei. But again, that's not her father's real surname. So lets consider Fan Changyu only, she grew up with it.
