They have a toxic relationship, but they don't get married. They separate, FL has a son. Later ML marries SFL because he thought FL died. FL later dies and their son is killed by ML, who did not know it was their son. Its very messy, very toxic novel. But the writers changed a lot, for the drama, to make it a lot less toxic. The Reuters show them getting married, happy with their son, and a lot of war scenes. But initially they do have a toxic relationship, though ML's character has been toned down to fit a drama narrative. But I don't know anything more than this.
