The subs are weird, I agree! Mango tv things π€¦ββοΈ
I never knew Mango Tv was an ott platform. Due to its name I thought its a tv broadcasting channel or something. Most of the dramas I watched are of iqiyi, wetv or youku. During TLOA filming I got to know its an ott platform. Ahh, they will disrupt my TLOA viewing as well.
I am so glad this is kind of a different modern drama. Like I am more of a costume drama girlie, though I have watched modern dramas. But majority of them is about office politics, corporate life, falling in love, exes, misunderstandings etc. Though I love them, sometimes I get bored due to common tropes. But Song Weilong did this one, which is different from the common tropes, even Seven Relics of ill omen, all these are interesting, modern dramas yet not the usual. Also Jingyi is back in my screen too. Missed her.
Just sometimes the subtitles are weird, maybe I have not watched a lot of Mango tv dramas, so I didn't know this before, but it seems Mango tv always has this issue. My beloved TLOA is also scheduled under them, ahh.
Esther Yu fans on X already talking about this drama and saying it's literally a copy from most and high achievements…
Please lets not bring toxic Weibo/X trolls here. Every fandom has a section of toxic people, very normal in C-ent, there is nothing anyone can do. Lets enjoy this place for fun and drama discussions.
Okay so I have to watch 4 episodes of this today, 1 Kdrama episode, 2 episodes of Kdrama variety shows, 1 episode of Chinese variety show. Also world cup. Ahh lets not sleep this weekend.
Novel reader here! π Before anyone comes for me, I actually don't mind the drama changes, this is just a comparison…
I remember reading the novel as well, not completing it though. But did the parents get married. I thought they were just living together. Maybe I remember wrong, it has been a very long time since I read it.
Like everyone I did not like his wife's behaviour for sure. But its very clear that she has a deep resentment, some traumatic experience and considers him the culprit for that, hence wouldn't give him anything he wants. She wants him to live a dead life like she is living. That entire scene, where her husband chose to save the life of an emergency patient first, before carrying out a not so complex VIP patient's surgery, I get them both. Also is FL a doctor, or just director of the hospital? Like her father is both, but is she a doctor as well. From a business sense, her giving priority to the hospital than a patient, I get it, yes I will criticize it, but I still get it. But if she is a doctor along with being director, and still takes that decision, that's pathetic. Her husband was not at all wrong in that scenario, and when she saw that patient in emergency, her eyes clearly showed that she felt bad for him, but she did not let her emotions matter at all that time, it was just business. Now having watched hundreds of dramas, my guess is she resents her husband, but it doesn't seem he really did a big mistake or crime. It would be some difference of perception leading to something bad, someone's death, and she just holds him responsible for it. But they need to show us that within the next 2 episodes. Yeah call me impatient, but it becomes difficult for me to root for a character who is being an ass to another person, with just indications, no back ground story, for a very long time.
Yeah, I don't usually mind such things, but it looked really fake here. I thought maybe a dream, but it seemed a flashback, hopefully they don't do it again in between serious scenes.
All that pointing to his career. They want him gone coz he's too successful and married to rich daughter. Trynna…
His friend too. That woman doc who came to talk to him is either his ex or likes him, and I have a feeling his friend likes that woman doc, he even offered her coffee.
