When I read the novel, I felt bad for him! I felt he had same fate like his father. They both were miserable! He did throw the poison, but he was a kid, he just thought his grandmother was being murdered, it did not harm the leads as such! The last plotting at least in the drama was not done by him! Hence I forgive him for that! He has no one to tell him what is right what is wrong! From my perspective he deserves the same sympathy as ML. The drama did give an open ending for him, so its okay!
