It is not a BE at all for a Xanxia. Maybe you have been expecting a ending tha usually applies to rom coms or pure romance.

Yes I agree. TTEOTM was tragic overall. There were barely few episodes where you actually could enjoy the leads relation. I found this one as mentioned more human xanxia, and less angst as TTEOTM. Ending for me was better here as he returned in last scene plus they married official in mortal world. I liked TTEOTM too but if I am to compare from all points of view including acting and CGI TLP was superior for me.

It is nothing at all similar! Except the theme of master disciple you can not compare it. Give it a try, this one gets better with each episode in! Loved it while I did not liked JCZ.
