I'm relieved that the score has finally climbed up to 8.1, though I wish it were higher. The drama is so worth it! It's been weeks since it ended and I still come here periodically to check out the page.
its high for a xianxia. ZLY and LGX have huge fan bases so it makes sense that they are boosting the rankings…
When I saw the score, I immediately thought that fan presence must have made it stay so high. It's a relatively high quality production, though. So I'm interested in finding out what the final score will be when the dust settles.
Initial douban ratings released: 7.2 . Isn't that particularly high for a Xianxia? I can see why though, the actors are reputable and the OST is way above average. Your thoughts?
Started with a bang and despite the glamorous fight scenes, the plot fizzled out by Episode 30. Don't know why I can't connect with Xing Fei's evil arc. It bores me to tears. I will probably read the ending of the drama but I feel so bored I can't in good conscience continue watching.
Considering Hae In's family, I'm glad she'd grown up well than her brother, Soo Cheol, coz she doesn't act spoiled…
It was impossible to spoil Hae In in that way because her mom was actively against her. See how she was treated as a pariah in high school because of her older brother's death? Younger brother is very spoilt because his mother literally and figuratively always hovered around him never letting him fall. If you don't fall, how can you learn from past mistakes to measure your self worth?
So while the older sister is filled with the burden to prove to her mother that she can do as well as her late older brother, younger brother is filled with angst that he is better than his sister without the need to prove himself.
I actually suspect that his late wife had more to do with the running and growth of the business than people give credit for. Grandpa is too stupid to build a business empire all on his own.
The circumstances surrounding the loss of their child has not yet been addressed. And while I (like many others)…
All signs point to a miscarriage. If there was an abduction, the camera wouldn't focus so hard on an ultrasound picture. They'd be pictures of the baby all over the house, in their wallets or their bedrooms. While ultrasound pictures are lovely things, most parents would probably look at picture of a live child while they are reminiscing. So I don't think the trajectory of the drama lends itself to an abduction. If they wanted to go full makjang, they could say she was poisoned and that led to a miscarriage. But I think miscarriages are normal things and occur more frequently than the public gives credit for. Speaking as an experienced parent, btw.
Do you mean Eun Seong's mother? Eun seong wasn't in Korea for the last several years and certainly nowhere near…
I agree. The mother doesn't want her son anywhere NEAR Hae-In. Maybe because if she is sleeping with Hae-In's grandpa it is a sort of pseudo-incestuous relationship??? Anyway the family won't align themselves with this pairing EVER! Now that they know who he really is and what he and his mom have done.
One thing I have to give Hae In credit for, is that she immediately understood why Hyun Woo wanted the divorce and didn't hesitate giving it to him. Which means she understood how he felt with her family constantly humiliating him and wanted him to be free of that. "I'm miserable too....". It's good that she understood that the reason for the divorce wasn't because he didn't love her or that he had a mistress. It was because he was tired of putting up with everything, though he still wanted to be close to his wife.
I think he might've been drugged by the mistress continously, maybe a drug that impairs his judgement, bc Beomja…
Plus he’s getting older. Even if he wasn’t drug, a lot of people’s personalities changes when they get older. There’s a reason scammers mostly target the elderly.
If you follow XZ's argument from fate , then each time he will inevitably choose the wrong one. But Shen Li argues…
True. I wonder when he'll be wise enough to figure it out.
BTW - I saw you uploaded the OST of the drama on YouTube. Thank you very much! I'd been wanting to hear those songs outside the drama and I played it on my way to work this morning. Quick question - the opening instrumental song , is it also on YouTube? I'd love to listen to it. Thanks again!
