We saw scenes where he was struggling to piece together YWS response to the truth serum. If she lied about not loving him, it means she lied about not being Wufeng. So, what was underwhelming about his response?

You are right. Actually his reaction is more of a confirmation of his suspicions, so he doesn't feel betrayed. This is in response to people saying he is so trusting. I believe he's always suspected she was part of Wufeng, but it didn't stop him from falling in love with her. Remember his response to Master Yue was "I want to believe what she says" and Master Yue responds - 'wanting to believe and believing' are totally different things. So his reaction is on par with the story's development.

This is a completely vain comment - but have you noticed how well oiled and smooth Gong Ziyu’s hair is in this drama? He doesn’t have a strand out of place. His hairstyles and costumes are immaculate and he is always immaculately dressed. Zhang Lin He’s masculine beauty is really enhanced by the styling in this drama.

This drama is a rare one in which all the male actors are seriously, absurdly good looking and they even look better in their costumes. All the Gong cousins, Jin Fan, The yellow jade guard, Master Yue, The Xues, even the Wufeng dudes. Wonder what magic the makeup and costume teams possess?

@Saydoo - You read my mind! I noticed this as well, GZY and YWS are always wearing 'couple clothing' either both in black or white. While the second couple are in opposing colors - a stylistic choice by the production I'm sure.

And as far as I'm concerned, the Main couple are relationship goals, they have a very healthy dynamic - partnership instead of being subservient - which in my opinion is hugely preferable to the toxicity of the cat/mouse games of the second couple. I think GSJ is more in love with SGQ than she is with him, and I can never fathom if she's being honest with him or just continuously lying, that's why I can never truly support them.

Didn't anyone think that Shang Jue's response to Yuanzhi in episode 15 was strange? While Yuanzhi was prioritizing Ziyu's failure in the 2nd test. Shangjue's response was - 'if he fails the test it's a good thing, and if he passes, it's also good'.

This makes me strongly suspect that he's not really interested in the Sword Weider position at all, he just wants to make sure that a competent man is at the helm. If Ziyu proves to be competent, then he will abandon his challenge for the SW position and continue on in his post. Unlike Yuanzhi who has an unreasonably blind hatred for Ziyu since they were kids, Shangjue's contention with Ziyu isn't personal - it's professional, and despite everything - he is looking out for the good of the clan to protect them since an incompetent SW will destroy the clan.

Nothing in the tale indicates that Wufeng only poisoned the young spies. They may have poisoned the older spies, but the older spies found out that the poison wasn't truly poison. It was to enhance their strength as long as they hide when their internal energy is weak.

The plots are not remotely similar. They're very different - the only thing they have in common is relocation from a city to a more rural area. Unless Kdrama wants to put a patent on relocation dramas - all they are complaining about is hogwash. Meet Yourself happens to deal with real life realistic issues, is very charming and is objectively the superior drama.
K-netizens are pressed because C-dramas have genuinely improved and are amassing more fans all over the world threatening the before-held dominance of Kdramas.

Meet Yourself was a very well done drama, a gem in its own right and anyone who watches both will see the differences in both dramas.
