RTZ might often have a poker face to the rest of his family, but I think his father sees through him the most out of all his family. RXZ might already know that his son has feelings for TT. He’s told his wife that he doesn’t think his son has feelings for MM, and even asked his wife about TT, to which his wife just dismisses as “TT’s being clueless”. I like that he treats TT as a sibling. Because any romantic action on his part would most likely get her kicked out of the house, and unlike MM, she doesn’t have anyone to rely on but herself. His actions towards MM are far from professional, though, because, instead of giving her coping skills to deal with her condition, all he’s doing is just given her a safe haven. Ignoring the fact that he can’t shelter her indefinitely. She has a life to go back to. And anytime that topic is raised, he gets frustrated. Maybe he knows MM best. Maybe he knows that too much pressure will cause her to snap, and he is frustrated that he can’t protect her forever. Her parents are selfish and a tad inhumane, they don’t understand the effect that the pressure they put on their daughter may cause her to splinter. Based on the closing credits, I have a foreboding of how this issue with MM will end.

Thank you! He’s indicated on two occasions that he doesn’t think his son and MM have a romantic connection. But RTZ fooled everyone else who believing he’s in love with MM. RTZ gets visibly upset when matters with MM doesn’t go his way. With TT, his reactions are way more subtle. Even when she was driven out, he calmly explained to his mother that she was mistaken about TT. So, it’s little wonder why his family is fooled.

I really hope TT doesn’t listen to RTZ. He’ll get into trouble, and she’ll get the blame again. (Ep 20). Honestly, why can’t anyone be firm with him? Why always letting him do what he wants, even though he’s disobedient, dishonest and unfilial? I wish TT will listen to her better judgement and just obey the master. For all we know the guy who owns the TCM park might be lying and manipulating his story just to get his hands on the wild ginseng.

This! is exactly why I don't want them to get into a relationship. Sorry to say but RTZ is a user and since TT continually covers up for him, he'll continue to use her if they get into a relationship. Maybe if he matures and changes his ways, he may have a shot at her. Otherwise it is best if they just remain 'sibling-like.'

In his current state, if they date, It'll end up like his parents relationship where his mother constantly sacrifices and does things for his father, but ends up being taken for granted with little words of appreciation.

Me too! she really is one of the few actresses that can bring me to tears so easily.

Yes and RTZ and his mom never have a problem using that against her. Poor girl. Despite her origins she's doing so much better than these over coddled rich kids.

While RTZ treatment of MM is bad, it is not his worst side. His worst side is leaving TT drunk beside a lake where she could easily have drowned and died. I can ignore what's going on between RTZ and MM, but I can never forgive how he engendered TT's life and got away with a slap on the wrist. No real remorse. I don't want her to end up with a guy who didn't care enough about her as a person to ensure that she doesn't drown to death, even if he has a character growth in the future. That sort of person is quite dangerous.

Great points. I now understand why he feels such a connection to her, because he feels that they are both abandoned and neglected by their parents except for getting negative attention when their parents feel they have done something wrong. Also, I agree that he probably doesn't see MM as a love interest but someone he needs to take care of. He certainly isn't relating to her as an adult. OTOH, MM could very well have fallen in love with him....

I don't think he really means it. He's calling his mother's bluff and I think she will cave into his wishes and not send MM away.

Yeah, I'm seriously disappointed in his mom. I totally lost respect for her after she let TT take the blame for what she clearly knows is her son's fault. RTZ knew that his father was aware he pawned the heirloom. Even his grandfather knows that RTZ was the one who pawned the heirloom. They should openly call him out on his behavior instead of sweeping everything under the rug. They are all spoiling him. Instead they are blaming the father for talking to him. ugh.

I don’t believe how much RTZ’s mother covers up for her sons misdeeds. It’s unbelievable. She never calls him out on his behavior. No wonder he is so spoilt and has no regards for his family! And with his entire family coddling him with the exception of his dad… it’s small wonder the father has little regard for his son.

Episode 14 was the first time RTZ saw TT genuinely upset without her trying to camouflage it with a joke or a laugh, and it touched him. He looked at her thoughtfully as he walked away.

Also I think RTZ can be a tad insensitive, when TT was explaining that she uses her phone to lure herself to sleep as she doesn’t have a mother, and he says ‘well I have a mother and she’s right here’ , I was asking myself if he really thinks before he speaks. That was a thoughtless comment right there!

Will it make the wife think more highly of TT? Always criticizing TT behind her back… I don’t blame her though, she’s doing a lot for her husband, taking all his financial burdens with a smile. The least he can do is appreciate his wife. It must also pain her that TT and her husband have a closeness, that her husband and son do not…

Maybe that’s why he’ll only bloom when he’s 60. He’s a ditzy character but not malicious.

It's a great point. Even if the audience is mad, it's because they care so much about the show and characters. Isn't it better to have this reaction, than if the whole sequence was ignored and no one talked about it? That would mean the drama doesn't have an impact on the audience. It's good that people are paying attention!

So true. It wasn't the stabbing as he had done so before, it was his expression, his lack of communication and leaving her to fall and hit the floor hard spoke of his not caring about her condition. Which is the opposite of him letting her bite him when she was going through her irritable phase. Which makes me wonder if a person can change so much in such a short time!
