"NO LOKAL 7PM DRAMAS" 😆Termasuklah yg 10pm jugak
This is actually an amazingly produced drama with good writing, pacing, BGM, etc but unfortunately no eng sub available online. This is my most favorite from the trilogy while the Kanojo's one being the least favorite.
For some reason this movie was so captivating despite the plot that not really unleashed the "time leap" aspects. It's a bit confusing at certain point and felt incoherent. But it has a nice blend of cinematography (not the cheap effects of course) and background musics. If I watched this in theater (in the 80's) I would have felt it worth the ticket price.
Finally watched this drama. Personally I was not that impressed but I rarely watch Kdrama anyway let alone K-historical so I might be a bit biased.
In my opinion this drama main weaknesses are: - Inconsistent writing with characters that can swing from brilliant to idiot in a split scene. The Emperor character suffered the most from this especially during the first half of the series, but others were also minorly inconsistent. - Poor editing. For example, at one place already 2 nights and 1 day passed by, but at the other still 1 night. - Clearly made disclaimer that the story will differ than the actual historical facts, so they never intended to stick with history in the first place, which a bit sneaky considering this was funded by ministry. Strangely, the novel writer claimed this deviate from actual history and the funny thing is the one that he worried was the episode involving horse incident while the drama made so many non plausible plots before that very episode. - Distance between places can conveniently change according to the plots. Biggest LOL - The arc involving local lord seeking revenge was so "Mexican Telenovela" that it's laughable.
On the brighter side though: - Korean need to make more historical drama close to historical record like this. But they need to move away from the classic soap opera plot writing and try to make side characters more believable than "parrots". - The battle scenes involved a lot of efforts and money so big credit for that. However, there were some questionable scene cuts editing mistake/overlook that downgrade my ratings. - Maybe beneficial to Korean citizens (not the foreigner unfortunately) to motivate their patriotism and nationalism.
Strangely though I personally find the second half was better in terms of writing despite the soap opera formula. Many viewers felt the first half was better just because of the battle scenes only, but for me there were too many weird edits/cuts during the battles.
Overall 6.5 from me but I add 0.5 more because of the battle scenes (the effort) so the final rating is 7/10.

I don't live in Japan and don't involve in academic conference so not sure about your question, but even in my country there are many telecommunication towers. They rent the existing tall buildings like condos and offices that made them less prominent.
I loved how they chose actors with close resemblance for the past and present characters. The good ones were Yuen brother, Eto sensei, Hachiro and Kam Bo mother.
It was not so bad for quick watch/binge-watch. Half of it filled with funny moments and quirky dialogues. But the workplace settings felt too Gen-Z compliance (you will know what I mean if you have watched many Japanese work dramas and make comparison to this one). It's also felt like a bit of PR for tabloid magazine publishers. Either way, the poster did a good job in explaining what you could expect from this drama. I personally rated this 7.5/10 for its entertainment value.
Amazing drama with characters that 100 times more complex and interesting than any fictional ones. It's a shame that I'm not familiar with these comedians/artists (I only saw Shizu in random dramas and maybe Yama-chan doing cameo in Attention Please long ago), or otherwise it would be super amazing watching experience. The writing was perfect although I was not a fan of the back and fourth time jump. This is super highly recommended if you like dramas that portray realistic struggles and (strangely real) complex characters.
Considering the theme and how Jdrama usually handles it, this drama was not bad at all. I think the yankee portion was nicely minimized to avoid the overloading yankee cringe-ness. I personally think this is better than Ameku Takao as far as the Hashimoto Kanna acting goes.
First episode was kind of hard to digest with the unusual styles, modern language narration, cultural reference, etc. But as the series progressed the characters grown on me. It's a good slice of life jidaigeki overall.
This is even better with a rewatch. Now I noticed the small details like you have to detach the "can ring" to open a "can drink"...lol I missed it during the first watch.
