I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
Sorry for replying on old comment but if you're still unsure (and for anyone who might be interested) I will give the pros and cons according to my watching experience. The synopsis basically has described what this drama is about (well although not so accurate).
Pros: 1. Only 24 episodes 45 minutes each 2. Great visual with realism feel (I won't say authentic as no one ever been to 3rd century) 3. The costumes feel believable unlike the slim-fit cutting we often see in many C-historical 4. Male characters come with facial hair instead of suave look and flawless skin 5. Containing some actions; war and fighting
Cons: 1. Hard to recognize the face of characters and remember the names in the beginning, 2. Some names being called without actually having their characters on screen (basic knowledge of Three Kingdom Generals might be helpful but one can just ignore) 3. Many dialogues. Important clues usually given in the conversation that's easy to miss 4. Plotholes and logical problem 5. Less female population in the drama
What a letdown. 2/3 of the drama was decent (although with obvious plotholes) but the last third was simply MEH. The writer wanted to make the plot look smart but he forgot the thing called LOGIC. His politic writing was so-so as well. Not sure how close this is with the source material, but Ma Bo Yong is just a Gen-X (that he doesn't understand logic living in the past) so I'm not surprise if the novel wasn't much different than the drama.
Overall 7/10 according to my rating system. If not because of the effort they put for visual, cinematography, lighting, and the costume that gives realism, I would rate this lower.
This one is amazing but hard to write anything about it without giving out spoiler. If you like art and symbolism,…
This drama is totally a work of art, where everything is up to the audience to interpret. You will get very little detail about the crime, the motives and the MO. But it gives you many symbolism/metaphor along the way in the form of visual clues and dialogues. It's just that these symbolism also depend on further interpretation.
I totally agree with others opinion (in here and at D-addicts) that The Man himself is a metaphor of disaster. Interestingly, we wouldn't know who will be the victim, but we able to see the sign when disaster is approaching. When The Man hold his breath and pauses his conversation, that's when it will happen.
In the end of the day nothing is revealed and solved like the usual mystery/suspense/crime/police/investigation dramas. The life continues. The police carry on their duty. The criminals carry on their crime. The victims just wait for their turn to get caught in coincident or disaster.

This one was not so bad. Watching this in 2025, brings back those old Jdrama feels and vibes. However it did lose the momentum in the middle. Should it maintained the first few episodes pacing, the drama could have been amazing. But overall it's a fun watch thanks to the adult supporting characters that do all the comedy parts.
Loved this one. The plot is nothing new but the style of combining hip hop with human drama kind of like musical, is actually fresh. Although hip hop isn't my favorite genre of music, I didn't find it interrupting my enjoyment. There were actions and some funny moments too.
Quite an interesting drama although it seems like "financial butler" is the more appropriate name for the job....lol
The premise is simple, but I like that they tried to give a bit of financial education on every episode. Although the info felt overloaded at times as it usually relayed through fast explanation. Well everything in the series felt like a shinkansen ride. It was fast, you can't even blink eyes without missing a thing or two.
The comedy wasn't my cup of tea but I got used to it as the series progressed. The Netflix sub lost the Anno's joke, but it still hard to digest even with literal translation.
It's a good watch if you like investigation series. Nothing extraordinary but the location (Mizune, Okutama, Tokyo) is beautiful. It gives you the "local community vibe" kind of dramas like, Dr Koto, Shima no Sensei, Ruri no Shima, etc.
Started off with a BANG, but lost the momentum in the middle with ambiguous side plots that felt like fillers before the main mystery was revealed. The strong element of the drama is its production value with strong cast line-up and orchestrated BGM. For that I gave this drama a rating of 8/10.
The mystery part was okay-ish, at least it kept you until the end. However the main premise to change the education system is nothing but a clickbait. Maybe if you know the present Japanese education system, you can see the impact or you will relate more. Otherwise nothing extraordinary done by Mikami except to carry out the mystery narrative.
The long line of dialogues with complicated sentence, at times made me lost in translation. Still a good watch though and maybe better than average over-hyped drama from neighboring countries.
If you're wondering about the title, it is actually a parody of "Darwin ga Kita" an NHK animal documentary broadcasted every Sunday before Taiga Drama, which is also known as "Darwin's Animal" as its English Title.
Yeah, this is a highly entertaining binge-watch material! Non just being Non but that was perfect for her role. It's black comedy mixed with cutesy, parodying "real life" with subliminally deep message in some part of the writing. Not sure how close is this with the manga though.
Basically a good drama with strong writing on some areas of the whole series. However they also tried to include as much social commentaries as possible, which felt episodic and preachy at times. Felt a bit sad that Nakayama Miho was not able to complete her role, at least until Ep5. The kids were doing great in this drama.
As a person who liked Brush Up so much, I totally agree with you! Too many familiarity while watching makes it less impactful to me. Loved the cast though it felt like a reunion than a new drama...lol
Basically a reunion of Shinnyushatachi and Brush Up Life. Wish Yoshida Yo, Usuda Asami, Mizukawa Azami and Sometani Shota made a cameo too.
The drama is a bit slow to pick up but gets better episode by episode. If you haven't watched Brush Up Life yet, watch HotSpot first for maximum impact.
Yep- I wondered that. I've seen the autumn 2004 specials that NakariAmane posted (above) but I do wonder if the…
Oh that's great to hear. I guess I need to rewatch the whole thing again. The last scene in the movie was a bit confusing to me. Rewatching can also re-affirm the SP situation.

The drama was fun. Highly recommended to those who are looking for something light to watch. The love lessons were interesting and made sense too.
