I wish they didn't force the romance between the 2 main leads. It could've been better without the romance for this kind of drama but yeah this was during the era where someone has to end up with the other one at the end....so....
This is actually not bad. But if you saw the other posters elsewhere, please know that the baseball is just a clickbait. The focus was more on the workplace and FL growth.
Very interesting but too deep for me. Not sure how faithful it is to the original novel though. For an SP, I still rate this 8/10 for its entertainment value.
I think the strongest point of this drama is the theme song by Original Love. Other than that it was an okay-ish drama as long as you don't mind imperfect characters. The transition between 2 far places also felt unrealistic at times. If you have watched many dramas, the plot was a bit predictable. However, it has that 90's jdrama's charm that I believe you would still enjoy despite all the weakness.
It's an okay-ish movie. In fact the acting was brilliant and kudos to the actors who played their respective instruments…
The big mood-spoiler
1. The music choices was lacking on the ML (Kiyosumi) part. FL (Ushio) said she was feeling something the first time she heard it, but the music they used was simply generic, non-arousing, ambient-lo-fi-like, background music you could hear at random place.
2. Same for everyone who saw the clip of ML playing outdoors. The music was just generic and his "showmanship" was nothing interesting (like Fuji Kaze LoL) that it would go viral. The ML was portrayed as a genius that the record co. boss would confine him to make more musics, but his songs were not that amazing.
3. The chemistry between ML and bassist (Riku) was simply ZERO. They just play a JAM on looping chords, which could be played by any other musician. Why must Riku? Similarly there was no strong reason for them to include drummer (Misaki) in the band. It's not like their music was super complicated that only certain top musician can do. I mean, I understand this was the story-line from manga, but there was no actual audio file in manga. The film production team should come up with something convincing!
4. I imagine ML-FL relationship played a big role in the story-line. Unfortunately, this was not conveyed sufficiently neither did they have a convincing chemistry....it's understandable a 2 hour movie so maybe a drama series format could work better?
It's an okay-ish movie. In fact the acting was brilliant and kudos to the actors who played their respective instruments convincingly, especially Marui Wan. But it could have been better IMO. It felt like something was missing.
It's a delinquent drama so yeah you know what trope and cliche to expect. However the fight action was less here, so if that's what you're looking for, give this a pass.
Didn't plan to watch this because of overly simple premise that could turn into something repetitive. But I was wrong since this drama was well made. Yes it's simple but the writing was good and the reminiscent of the school days was refreshing. It feels like watching coming of age drama but in a retrospective way...LoL. Other than that, the choices for the actors that play the teenage-adult counterpart were very spot on. I highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for something light, simple, a bit episodic, with some funny moments of youth.
It's a pure slice of life but with a pinch of human drama on its main plot if that makes sense. It could have been amazing if that afro guy (the person who wrote this) took care of the small details especially on wrapping up some of the side stories that otherwise felt like fillers to elongate the number of episodes.
Liked this one better than the first....maybe because Mahiro was less ignorant in here. Not the fan of the gun handling direction of the whole franchise anyway...and that's another reason why I didn't like the first as much.
IMO the best thing about this movie turned series is how real the Ruka character is. Even the consistency between the younger and older Ruka is remarkably well done by both of the actors, Yayama and AinaTheEnd. It's so believable that they are the same person from different age.
Not bad drama...but they only have 3 cases over small number of episodes. If you need something quick with opposite characters kind of police buddy drama, this is a perfect choice! The focus is more on the crime cases though so there will be not much backstories for the main characters if that matters to you.
I think this one is as good as S1 if not better. My only complain is that it makes me feel I did not get enough of it because it only focuses on 2 cases...lol
