Up to Ep 8. Coming from BTTB trying to fill the hole after I have run out of Episodes to watch. So far I am really loving this show and the vibe. It is so positiv and sweet.
Hua Biao is so lovable. A real ray of sunshine. I also like that the FL doesn't fall for him right away ( although I would...girl is strong😅) and that their interactions and touching seem so natural and unafraid from the start. I also don't mind that the romance is secondary or rather just a facet of their live.
I have to confess I spoiled myself with the ending because all the comments about it as I hate sad endings especially in fun slice of life Dramas that are light throughout until they punch you in the gut with unnecessary sadness in the end. Sadly this Drama has that type of ending. I have no problem with them leaving to do their own stuff for a while, but why all those tearful goodbyes as if it's the end of their relationship/love? I never said goodbye to my friends even when we studied in different places because we would always
keep in touch and meet up from time to time so as not to lose sight from one another. This ending lacks this and as touching as HB love for his grandmother is, they should have either made it clear he was only traveling for a year and then coming back or his grandma should have send him to college despite his other plans because if he stays away longer it is really damaging to his future and chinese society doesn't seem very forgiving in that regard.
And so far (EP 8) the guy just can't catch a break, which is the only part about this Drama that annoys me ( and the ending of course). He deserved a better ending where he has the chance to escape poverty and hardship and finds a new family and love for himself. But no the story makes him sacrifice everything with a smile on his face. ( As if thats realistic.) Throwing his life away for his grandmas final years ( and Alzheimers can take decades) may be noble but someone should have saved him from his own immature
noble idiocy in this instance. If he is just traveling for a short while like 6-12 months its ok, but the Drama did not make that clear to me. Also the build up of their relationship and the fact that HB loved the FL from the start makes the ending extra dissatisfying. I love this Drama too much to stop watching but I guess I may skip the last 2 EP to not leave it on an unnecessary depressing note. I think a more positive ending would have been just as realistic.

s flirty eyes in EP 25/26 Trailer don' t look exactly kind. His eyes look more like a cat hat mercilesssly moves in on its pray....poor YH doesn't stand a chance now that he is courting her and sure that she does have feelings for him. A truly dangerous man😆❤️

Seeing todays EP and the Trailer for EP 26 I can't stop smiling.😅😅

I think so too, I have read the novel and I found that at a certain point they went around in circles, with her always trying to leave. I also prefer her falling first because I found in the novel that TY fell too easily, given his horrible back story. I also didn't like the neidan storyline. I prefer the changes in the drama to be honest. But I guess that is an unpopular opinion.

As I said he is definitely flawed. And what he said about the dismemberment definitely hit below the belt and revealed his inner ugliness. He also knows he has lost and acts sneaky which is hateful. But again from his perspective he doesnt owe TY anything.I think as character he makes sense and is interesting and human even if his actions dont make him loveable all the time. BUT we need to remember TY was also really sneaky and coniving and selfish in the beginning and also during the 3rd stabing, its just that people find a lot more excuses for him , saying he was backed into a corner and had no other choice and such. I don't really see how BXS position is much better. I don't think he has much of a choice either, it is just we know a lot more about TYs thought process and motivation but we do not know everthing about BXS who is still pretty secretive. I can understand that you find BXS actions unlikable and unpleasant, because partly they are but that doesn't make him a bad character in my book. I also loved to hate Prof. Umbridge in Harry Potter but I also wanted to burn the book she was in.😅
If we want flawed but interesting characters we cannot demand perfection from them all the time. I am pretty sure everyone has at some point said something really hateful and mean or acted petty and small minded which they later regret and which also doesnt speak for that person as a whole. To immediatly hate someone for that is too harsh I think. But if you think he needs to redeem himself soon I agree.

Completely agree, people often forget to consider the individual perspectives of characters and that their experiences inform their actions. I often find that behaviour of MLs impact lesser characters negatively without anybody judging them for being selfish. Thats why I loved TY sticking up for the fat guys feelings earlier.
I also hope BXS finds the real light in his life and finds happiness and redemption.

I think given his past and also the fact that he watched all those undeserving couples who always revealed their inner ugliness and untrustworthyness to him, I wonder were he should have learned to be good and just and unconiving. In a way he reminds menof Jieli from LBFAD. But I agree his behavior makes him unworthy and dooms his attempt at love from the start. But I have no problem not liking a character all the time as long is the internal logic of the characters actions is intact. I have a lot more trouble getting my head around SY actions and obsession by comparison. She makes no sense to me and seems evil for evils sake. What is she trying to gain by keeping the shell of a man alive? Compaired to
that I prefer a tragic figure like BXS.

I agree the constellation was fun, but I think if that would have stayed the same it would have gotten old. TY need someone to kick his butt, think of BXS actions now as reverse psychology on TY, since positive encouragement as before didn't have the desired effect and resulted in TY stabbing YH instead of kissing her.😂

I don't really understand why everyone hates BXS so much. Although I'm Team TY I can understand BXS reasoning and perspective.
1. He routed for them and also watched them closely and saw how kind and sincerely YH was treating TY.
2. He himself only experienced rejection and betrayal since young and loosing his freedom because of the evil spirit. So the impact must have been huge when YH treated him as a friend and rescued him and trusted him ( though he isn't deserving of that trust).
3. He sees TY rejecting and not valuing what BXS never had but wishes for. He says it early on " how could TY reject someone like YH?" I would also think TY doesn't deserve her after the stabbing.
4. TY is a blackbox to him, he cannot know what is going on inside of TY or whether he values YH or not. From an outsiders perspective it totally looks like TY took advantage of YH and played her for his own gain.
5. Then also BXS is selfish and also emotionally starved because of his past. Anyone would want the trust and companionship he observed between TY and YH themselves. So of course he is projecting a lot on YH. I don't even think he really loves her, in the last couple of ep it was pretty clear they don't match or that he is not really interested in her interests ( he couldnt even remember the basics like her favourite food, if he truly liked someone he would be more interested and remember).Rather he loves the idea of her and having a good person for himself. He is after all very very lonely and has just as mutch bagadge as TY. Also because of his past he really hates betrayal and Abandonment. I think this really triggers him. But TY in his eyes both betrayed and
abandoned YH so naturally he is indignant on her behalf, especially since he puts her on a pedestal for saving him.
7. Also today he wasn't even surprised at being rejected he knew he was grasping at straws and was being petty. But I think that makes him relatable and
human. Why should he stand aside for TY? From his perspective TY is undeserving and he wants to protect YH from herself since he knows she loves TY and that love isn't just gone just cause your partner mistreats you. ( Of course this also disqualifies him because he makes decisions for her without having the right to do so)
8. TY mistake is the only chance he has of winning YH for himself, I think it is human that he tries to use the opportunity, even though he has no chance. But I think its normal not to be rational all the time and his actions make sense from his perspective. He is just as flawed as the others.

Of course as a TY YH shipper he is annoying to watch sometimes, but he is also a great foil to TY who needs to understand that something that you dropped may be picked up by someone else if you don't appreciate what you have when you have it. Even now BXS beats TY to the punch when it comes to confessing his feelings. I mean YH gave so many openings these past 2 EP for him. She burned the pact, lets him stay arround, fake marries him, says she isn't afraid anymore, forgave him and called it even ( though it really isn't) and defended him again, when BXS critised TY for staying. PLUS TY and YH were successful at the love trial so they must know they both still have affection for one another. All that is left is YH insecurity about the nature of his feelings and her hurt pride. Is TY doing everything now because he feels guilty and grateful or does he have another motivation? He needs to make this clear to YH ASAP and reassure her. Whats keeping him? Instead of asking whether he still has her heart, which she doesn't deny by the way, she never says she took it away after she gave it, he should have made himself vulnerable and told her he loved her. But he doesn't risk being rejected like she did. She crossed the line for him when he needed it and now TY needs to return the favour. TY needs someone around that gives him some sense of urgency when it comes to YH. BXS is at least good for that.

Also BXS still has another agenda that is why he is still around, so he is not just some love struck fool. I am actually curious how his arc progresses.

I don't get the emporer. Was he always evil? He always drowned in self pity without seeing that he did all of this to himself but he could have easily had the FL friendship and gratitude, if he had accepted that he could not make her love him. Also how can he seriously think that torturing her, killing her people and what not would make her turn to him and love him. Is he stupid? I mean he used to be bullied so he should know that only grows hate and resentment. He wasn't this unhinged in the beginning was he? I mean him killing the child successor was a red flag, since he tried to paint himself in a positiv light afterwards, but other than that he wasn't too dumb. Was it the ex empresses insense that made him crazy? Or was he always such a turd, that was corruped by finally having power? I though he was weak from the beginning but not totally insane, and actually tried to make an effort and judged his Situation pretty accurately at the beginning . I don't like characters whose actions make no sense. His logic doesnt even work for himself. If he just wanted to possess her why did he wait for her to change her mind pretty much till the end of the drama when her ever falling for him was completely out of the question given how he treated her. It would have made more sense if he just tied her to his bed and made her have his heir or something. Why this weird possesiveness and at the same time keeping a distance from the object of his desires? Like he does every horrible thing in the book but draws the line at rape? I find that hard to believe. Please somebody explain, if I missed something.
