Ok. I really have a soft spot for friends to lovers stories, so I will give the following two a try thanks to your advice: HIStory4: Close to You and In Between.
Ms. Temper & Nam Jung Gi (2016 Korean drama). I don't care what anyone says, the FL is Asexual and I love her. It also makes sense with her interactions with the ML and his son (and all complaints of viewers who didn't understand her character at all). The son day-dreaming about her as Sailor Moon is the highlight for me :D
Run On (2020 Korean Drama) FL best female friend Park Mae-yi (played by Lee Bong-ryun) is canon asexual and at some point in series has interest in another male support character, so you get to see how this plays out. It is just so realistic I was surprised to find this in an actual drama.
What a competitive, sick society 😔 it's suffocating to watch.. Those mothers are deranged.. Is it really how…
I feel that often our art (in form of a drama) is often a reflection of and an exploration of various aspects of our cultures that we hope to avoid and/or hope to change. So the series could be highlighting a potential problem (to show how it looks at extreme if left unchecked) or a growing problem in society.
Off top of my head, may fit your requirements: Move to Heaven (2021 Korean drama ML) Kill Me Heal Me (2015 Korean drama....ML, same amazing actor in Devil Judge) Just Between Lovers (2017 Korean drama......ML&FL, hit me deep emotionally) Mad for Each Other (2021 Korean drama ML&FL) Introverted Boss (2017 Korean drama ML) Hometown Cha-cha-cha (2021 Korean drama ML) Bad and Crazy (2021 Korean drama ML) Animal World (2018 Hong Kong Movie ML) Shinai naru Boku e Satsui wo Komete (The Killer Inside) (2022 Japanese drama ML&FL)
Crash Course in Romance (2023 Korean drama) Autistic brother to FL.....and refreshingly not one of those over-used over-intelligent Autistic types that is actually not the norm for those on the spectrum; This is closer to reality.
Keep in mind, that you can't go into a MAME series expecting REALITY. Take your seriousness cap off and just go with the flow of silly, crazy, over-the-top soap-opera style mayhem. Entertainment/Art is often there to explore some of the more absurd parts of our cultures to flip things around to re-examine little aspects: like arranged marriages (how it affects those involved) or even how LGBTQ+ are trapped in a sort of limbo in culture that doesn't fully embrace them in reality, so a series (since it is outside reality) can explore this: MAME does so in chaotic ways, always using over-the-top cheesy humor....that you should be PREPARED for since this is a MAME series :D
Re-watching AGAIN. Things noticed this time found interesting:
ep1 Pu LeChien's dream of running through the woods blindly chasing lantern girl has direct parallels with last ep where he was indeed running though woods looking for his love, Amber.
ep2: Yu He messaged Pu LeChien 12 times on his phone when they finally got within range of a tower :D :D :D DAMN GIRL!
The child actors that played the characters when little....are so CUTE.
The first time the boyz where cooking together....i just can't get over it. Amber's little tongue roll off his teeth......*cackles like an old grandma*
ep5 the pie eating/crying scene with Amber. I remember this was the ep that I became emotionally invested in this story! Still makes me cry!!!! Cross references ep3 flashback scene! Isn't smell supposed to be one of our strongest memories?
ep7 The scene where A' Le helps Amber take the motorbike helmet off.... so poetic and beautiful.
"She was Pu LeChien's first love!" YuHe is so fun! This whole scene was so cute. Amber on cloud nine and A'Le so embarrassed ; D How dare Yuhe bring up the old crush in front of the new crush :D :D :D Op....but THEY ARE THE SAME.
Quick question: not trying to look for deep revealing spoilers just want to a little emotionally prepared. Is…
It started with a tragedy....but I wouldn't say the story is a tragedy. It is more about dealing with the aftermath of tragedy and either overcoming it (moving past it) or using it (negative) to drive positive outcomes in future. It is a story of people navigating their future after a tragic event.
So good!!! I was intrigued in ep1 and every ep just kept giving me more and more. The intensity of many of the scenes had me on the edge of my seat. Loved all the word play and the twists and turns the story wove. The production, music, acting, writing..... it all came together so well. I'll always remember this one!
Yay! Another great movie out of Taiwan! I laughed so much! I cried so much! What a roller coaster! What a surprise! The title and basic synopsis sounded like this was going to some dumb goofy movie, but it totally blind sided me with how GOOD it was! LOVED IT!
This recently showed up on VIKI as a movie with title "Merry Happy Ending Complete Edition". Do you know if there is any difference between series and movie?

This shows up as a movie on Viki (108 minutes run time). "Merry Happy Ending Complete Edition" is in the description. I haven't watched this yet, so I don't know what is different if anything.

Love the actor who plays the dad! I perk up whenever he is in the room.
