PreferenceðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜, people have so different taste,I was personally blushing the entire time
I feel you. I am a big personal space fan. But everyone is so different. It tells you a lot about the characters based on their preferences of personal space :D My partner and I are both same, so it would be so difficult for me to deal with a Yuan type in your bubble all the time; I would have pushed him away/smacked him so many times! :D
it started off interesting and complex with likeable characters but then got really reaaalllyyy convoluted in…
I feel like the romance part ruined it somewhat. It would have been enjoyable and much better if just all 3 of them were friends. Why they don't write independent women more in Chinese dramas is beyond me. Romance for the sake of romance is hollow and empty and boring.
Can anyone recommend similar dramas like :The blood of youth, WOH, The untammed. Historical dramas with only focus…
Untamed, Word of Honor are def favs of mine. Try A League of Nobleman, Nirvana in Fire, Tienstin Mystic.....
Only historical dramas I can think of off top of my head. If you LOVE Bromance, but ok with more modern vibe: Reunion Sounds of Providence, Beyond Evil, Guardian (2018), The Devil Judge. I liked these a lot.
I’m 4 episodes in and not really hooked yet, is this one a slow burn I should push through for or is it one…
I got hooked by end of episode 5. The end of ep 5 OMG....I HAD to know more! Let me know what you think! It started off slow...but after completing whole series, the first 5 eps are now precious to me....knowing what I know NOW ;P
Stumbled upon this on Viki, but haven't watched yet. Came over here to see what you all thought and whoa such a low rating :/ But then I see that only 2 episodes aired so far! Like how can you all rate something that isn't even finished?!? We don't even know if this is a slow burn or a fast burn yet..... and since a language barrier, I am gonna guess a slow burn ;D I'll prolly wait for whole thing to be aired completely and then power watch it.
If kisskh was cooler I think a separate rating system for series airing would be fun. One rating for people who are actively watching it but haven't finished it yet. A graph showing how rating changes as each ep airs. And another rating for those who completely finished it and thus can comment on the big picture.
Want to fine tune my understanding of some symbolism in this series with the jade flute. If any of you deep thinking…
In ep 27, FDB breaks that jade flute in front of LLH and drops it before departing. LLH collected the pieces and we see an image of the broken pieces later at the Lotus house. Is there a deeper meaning to this besides just a 'broken friendship'? Why a flute? Does it mean anything because it is jade? And I also don't remember when FDB got the flute, so am I missing some context? I am assuming that there is some cultural Chinese symbolism at play here that I am missing. Is anyone able and willing to clarify the meaning here?
Want to fine tune my understanding of some symbolism in this series with the jade flute. If any of you deep thinking individuals or anyone with more Chinese cultural knowledge would be so kind as to share some of your wisdom? (Please see spoiler reply below for question).
I watched this when it first aired and loved it for the strong female lead. l just rewatched it and boy...... now i realize that this is a drama about a normal MODERN women in a really really REALLY sexist society. Even the male lead was getting $h!t for doing what was perceived as a 'woman's role': single working parent raising a child and also taking care of elderly parent. So crazy how you see things in life almost a decade later. I feel like this story really wanted you to see the sexism in the world by blatantly flipping a 'traditional' male vs female role in a story. We just need more woman like her to push society forward toward equality <3
I always give a long series at least a 5 episode watch before deciding to continue or drop. Make it to the end…
I was bored initially also until end of ep 2/beginning of ep3 when a bread crumb of a plot point enticed me. Then another dropped by end of ep 5 and I was like "ok.....you got me interested.....I gotta find out what's going on and where this goes! :D
Is there any romance angle at all which is part of the plot?
It is like Nirvana in Fire where there is references to an old PAST romance, but it is years later and the characters have moved (or learn to move) on since they are different people with different lives. But it is a minimal part of the story. So no, this is NOT a romance story. Its focus is more on friendships and camaraderie, moving on from the past, living how you want to live, redemption, hidden identity, mystery, martial arts. It is so fun!
Does this drama get better after few episodes ? I have watched 20 min and I am actually bored since the 1rst minute...…
I always give a long series at least a 5 episode watch before deciding to continue or drop. Make it to the end of ep 5 and then see :) Long series always take a long time to introduce the story. They give you a trail of bread crumbs to tempt you into a mystery to want to know more.....
Not sure what I think about the whole cast completely changing since I really liked the previous cast. Every time this happens, I just can't get into the series since it distracts me and drops my enjoyment/attachment of characters. Especially when the original actors fully embody their character so much that they ARE the character. The ONLY exception for me is all the series based on Wi Xie novels (Ultimate Note/Reunion Sounds of Providence/Lost Tomb/etc).... for some reason that just worked, but I don't know why.
I'll still give first eps a try to see if the characters pull me in. I am just not optimistic that this will be the same, so I am worried..... Anyone else feel the same? Any thoughts?

How is Love in the Galaxy so far?
