Btw, what's the relationship between Wu San Xie and Xie Lie Huan apart from being connected to Mystic Nine? I remember they explained it in The Lost Tomb 2 but I forgot. Are they blood related or just lookalikes?
Omg, this drama reminds me of Go Princess Go... GPG was so funny and entertaining ? and I got hooked to Chinese period dramas because of it. I really hope this K-version will he as entertaining.
I want this Beautiful actress to get more projects as the FL. She is such a natural and I enjoy her acting always, nomatter what role. Wonder what's wrong with the Chinese entertainment industry because great actors like this are being passed over the terrible but only young and pretty actresses...tsk tsk
Rating 7/10 Cont... Negatives So what put me off and made me reach for the fast forward button at times: 1) Storyline - So the story draggs out a bit and found myself not really caring at some plots. I feel like I could have been invested in the deceased sister, Gao Fern, Fang Ning dynamic if I had something to justify the latter's actions. Also, that 6 year time jump was a little unnecessary. I still think this could have been a 24 ep. 2) Character set up and flow- So I failed to understand the heiress fell from grace like that. I mean if this is a conglomerate company for example, they usually have lawyers in place to take care of things when they turn sour. Plus, these business people are always on top of things especially in regards to shares and stock. Any fishy activities in these areas always flags up and they investigate and take action. So to have Gao Fern takeover the company just like that was a little unrealistic to me. 3) My biggest pet peeve was the kissing scenes plus skinship in general. Okay directors, does that make sense that you have actors act out kissing scenes for you to edit it out....(mind blank). Behind the scenes of the kissing scenes were actually decent and yet the director, acting crew plus the editor guys are the only ones who enjoyed them and not the intended audience. So we only got to see the mouth rub, whilst the director and his team got the good kissing = not fair. The skinship was a little stiff for me as well for our Main leads but they did their best to be sweet (cringy at times). It's just the dodging when one wants to kiss the other that just puzzled me sometimes. At times, I even shouted, you guys, you had a baby together so why the awkwardness ?. Oh and do we really need a foaty red- thing background for a what appears to be sex scene??? (The bts is actually beautiful, if only they used that).
Anywho...that was why I gave it a 7...Overall, it's a really enjoyable drama especially if you want to pass up time and don't need drama in a drama. Nope, I'm not Rewatching but maybe see Yuo Yuo scenes on YouTube when I miss him.
Rating 7/10 Positives 1) The acting - All actors did really well for their roles. I couldn't find anything lacking even to the ones who had the smallest roles. Lu Fang Ning was absolute fav. and her character especially in the beginning was just badass. I also became to love Tang Ping, always loved Si Yu...and Uncle Simon. 2) No female rivalry or bitchiness - Isn't it refreshing to have a drama that's just drama free (okay, there was a little but harmless) on the female side. I began to love how these women joined together in solidarity and became besties along the way. Even step-mom, wasn't that nasty but silly at times. 3) Step siblings who get along well- I don't know who told these dramas that step-siblings have to hate eachother so to see how Fang Ning loved and supported her step brother was just beautiful to. 4) Everyone was beautiful- I always thought that looks can't hold a drama (still think so) but not gonna lie, the visuals in this made me want to keep watching. I mean who wouldn't want to see Simon's morning/shower routine and Si Yu's eyes right... 5) Ending- Everything was wrapped up in a nice little bow and we just got the cuteness overlord 6) No real Villain- Okay I'm not gonna bestow Gao Fern with the villain title for his moment of crazy. Actually, you will be surprised what people do when they are hurting so as much as I wanted to slap him, I think maybe he needed that to grief ? (stupid yes but yeah well) 7) Last but not least is Yuo Yuo. From the moment this boy appeared, he took my heart away. He is just a ray of sunshine and so adorable that thre were times I reached out to my laptop to just squeeze those cheeks (and failed)..hehe. His presence made everyone happy inc. Me and I think this little actor has a brighter future ahead of him.
So I'm going by first impressions only since I have only watched 1st ep. So far not impressed ? and nope, it's not because of the actors but their character setup. Jiao Jia Ren is meant to be a talented doc. so show us that. Well at least give her something doctor-related to do (yeah yeah, she saved the kid in the first 10mins but that's it?) rather than running around aimlessly. She seems to be that too-nice docile FL I usually don't like. And ML is that typical arrogant, higher-mighy doctor to FL (a major turn off)....oh and how dare he telling someone you're not suitable to be a doctor... Then we have the Bratty Princess Gu Jia Ren.... Really, isn't it high time we have more nuanced characters...and a great storyline. Also apart from the kid case (actually, I was not invested in) nothing else happened really. I couldn't keep up with the rest of the characters or story. Maybe I expected too much like the level of Doctors (at least in storyline) so I'm a little disappointed. Again, it's just first impression only and my opinion. Who knows it might turn out to be good but for now I will give it a pass.
Sooo Trueeee !!! still this is also good !! Hez soo good in this too !! I hv seen love deisgner twice after i…
Hahaha, now that's the Cdramas I know. Thanks for the heads up. I shall now go and rewatch Love Designer...it seems I don't need detox anytime soon...hehe
just a comment for people that are avoiding this drama because of Seolhyun: I personally didn’t hate her acting…
I also don't hate her acting but I don't see her as a good actress either. Her acting is bland for me...so I have not been interested in her prev. dramas (never watched any she is in). This one, I can't avoid it because Nam Goong Min and Lee Chung Ah...there are like really great actors. So I'm watching it for them so far. But who knows, she might surprise me, and I might enjoy her acting... (so far, not yet)
plot wise its not the best thing ever, and also not that great. I was really disappointing two times, when they…
Oh and another one... the way they just stared at the guy who drowned?? in the swimming pool was a little Really! for me. And exactly like you said, it's as if the people who are dying are doing so because the plot wants them to...tsk tsk?
The problem I'm having is whenever I see Johnny, I then remember his hypnotic chemistry with Dilraba. So I can't seem to see him with anyone else hence the struggle to commit to this drama....sigh Guess, I'm still having Love Designer withdrawal symptoms. So I shall come back to this after detox...hehe
Btw, any cliche break-ups yet? Don't mind spoiler...
Dear Lord, this girl has a plethora of dramas and movies plus tv shows....wow I absolutely love Xiao Tong so much. She is one of the very talented young actresses out there and I have mostly enjoyed her dramas (except a few and it's not her). One thing I have begun to appreciate about her more, is how she is choosing dramas that anchor her strengths and skills as an actress. She has that tough, no-nonsense girl exterior so coupled with her facial expressions, she plays a relatable, not-all-innocent and naive but strong FL very well. Her character in Twenty your life on is outstanding that it made me respect her more. Will definitely be looking out for her future projects.
I don't know. I just watch the first episode and while I like both male lead, the female lead kinda annoyed me.…
You're right. He is a great actor and I wonder if he just takes his time to choose his projects or doesn't get many offers. But so far he has managed to impress me with all his projects he is in...and the bonus is, he always pick my favourite genre. I remember crushing on him so hard in Cambrian Period before looking up his real age...And when I did, I got a shock. Was like...oh oh Cougar alert...LOL
I remember they explained it in The Lost Tomb 2 but I forgot.

I see Zhao Li Ying and Wang Yibo and I'm Sold.
