So basically in ep 24...Ling Rui's mom wento see Fang Ning and ask to talk to Ling Rui so he can go to Germany…
Yeah, I guess I need a life. Actually before I have a life, any recommendations on really good dramas...Right now I need like a detective, mystery drama? I miss that genre.
So basically in ep 24...Ling Rui's mom wento see Fang Ning and ask to talk to Ling Rui so he can go to Germany…
Exactly and that's when I think, she probably could have made a better decision. There were problems in the company anyways and she chose to leave it (well again Gao Er Fan left her with no choice) so going with Ling Rui would have been a reasonable and better decision. Alas, reason is not acceptable in Cdramas and we have 35 ep. so the writers wanted to create angst even if it's unnecessary. The irony is, I'm still going to watch it...hahaha
So basically in ep 24...Ling Rui's mom wento see Fang Ning and ask to talk to Ling Rui so he can go to Germany…
Exactly, I wonder how he is going to feel. And I guess that's the drama I'm looking forward to..hehe Another little thing that bothered me was how Ling Rui's mom kind of influenced Fang Ning's decision. Ultimately it was her decision and she could have made a better one but I can't help to feel that his mom nicely pushed her to make the decision. The way, she was like, please talk to Ling Rui and let him go, he has worked hard for this etc (along those lines).
So basically in ep 24...Ling Rui's mom wento see Fang Ning and ask to talk to Ling Rui so he can go to Germany…
My thoughts exactly...apparently noble idiocity has no expiration date. Most often in these dramas they lack communication that it's so frustrating. I'm always like, come on...just talk, lay it out on the table and nope, it never happens. It seems like a rule in dramas, that couples don't talk things through, huh
One thing I've noticed that's funny with Asian dramas involving business is they always want to highlight the…
I completely agree with you. I mean, I used to constantly think, is it necessary to have all these people just standing there whilst you pacing about scaring your employees. And now, I'm like Coronavirus, maintain distance and where are the masks...lol But in this show's defence though, Fang Ning is a General Manager so it's understandable for her to be more hands on (minus having an entourage ofc) unless I missed something...
People say ep 24 something bad..what was it? Spoil pls
So basically in ep 24...Ling Rui's mom wento see Fang Ning and ask to talk to Ling Rui so he can go to Germany for a work project (apparently it has always been his wish). Since Fang Ning was unaware that Ling Rui got the invite to go to Germany, it caught her off guard and to add on the problems at her company (Gao Er Fan, is causing trouble). So Fang Ning sacrificed her happiness for Ling Rui and left him (pretty much just pack her bags and leave in the morning). And Ling Rui nearly went crazy looking for her. Oh and Fang Ning leaves the company. So that's in a nutshell. And after this ep. they will be separated for 6 years and in those years, a child was born. To be honest with you, it wasn't a gut wrenching ep. where you just can't stop crying...no no (no tears came out for me) but it's sad.
Ooh, forget uncle Simon, wannabe-evil stepmother or Tang Ping ..it appears we have a new potential villain lurking in the dark, in the name of Fang Ning's assistant aka Gao er Fan... And the problem with this one is, he actually have access, resources(maybe) to hurt Fang Ning, afterall he knows what she is always up to. So he can operate in the dark and Fang Ning might not even get suspicious of him. I also think whatever the vendetta is...it's related to Fang Ning's sister....that sour face he made when Fang Ning mentioned her sister at the Infinity opening betrayed his innocence. I'm now curious about him and what he is all about. I still think this drama should have been shorter (maybe 24 ep.) than 30plus ep. to avoid unnecessary angst...but Anywho...
P.S. Omg the actress that plays Fang Ning's sister and Zhou Yi Tong look so mucb alike...I thought I was seeing double.
I think they will...but Li Yu Yao will need to reflect on his treatment towards Si Yu before then. Ofc Si Yu will find (based on latest ep. she is beginning to question, and they break up) hence tears. But really Simon needs to get over the niece complex first...
Is the novel translated in English or French? And where can I get my hand on one?
English... The first part is easy to find; just Google the title. But I had someone here, send me the link for the sec part...so you can look around here.
Character Review cont... The three women in Ling Rui's life:
My review wouldn't be complete without mentioning these 3 marvellous women. Actually, by observibg these 3, you get to understand how Ling Rui turned out the way he is. First, big auntie is the quiet one but also thoughtful. It seems she is the one mom goes to when she needs help especially getting through to Ling Rui. She is supportive of Ling Rui and Fang Ning and just cool. Oh and she chose to stay single (take that stereotype) Then, little auntie...who appears as the spoiled, clueless last born among the three therefore irresponsible at times. However, she is also adorable and the main catalyst for our leads to be together (as well as Fang Ning's antics) so how can I dislike her. Then, Ling Rui's amazing mom. She is such a kindhearted person who just wants the best for her son (yes, I clapped for her when she bragged about her son to FN father) and I like how simple minded she is. I mean for her to just agree for Ling Rui to marry Fang Ning after days of knowing each other...you gotta be simple minded and a cool mom, right. Also I love that mom welcomes Fang Ning and treats her like her own despite her status. She even supports Fang Ning's quest for a child (hehe) so what's not to love...
Simon/Li Yu Yao: It's so suprising to me because I was ready to dislike the 2nd ML (yeah, I always do, aside from Kdramas) but I can't for this character. I have found myself caring for Simon and his story as much as our leads. So, here we have this adopted gorgeous uncle of our FL (still wondering why they didn't just make them siblings instead...was dad worried about inheritance or the writers thought an adopetd uncle crushing on his niece is less icky compared to brother). Anywho...so adopted uncle develop feelings for his niece and decides to take a runner. I actually respect that because this situ is complicated...Now you can't control your heart but you can certainly control your behavior, so I'm glad he excused himself and went away for 10 years. You would think 10 years is enough to get over someone especially the one you're not meant to love, alas, that's not the case here. Again, what I like about Simon, is that upon his return, he decides to not break our main leads or act on his feelings but be the cool affectionate uncle to our FL (and she really values him, so it seems). The only problem with Simon, is it appears he has not learned from his prev. relationship. Because using someone's feelings to hide your own never ends well. And no doubt, he will learn the hard way.
Cai Si Yu: Okay, I think the writers were like, wait we missed all the trope qualities that a FL should have so let's just put all that to our 2nd FL...yay (me=eye-roll). Si Yu comes from a humble beginning and by pure luck ends up working at Fang Ning company and even forge a relationship with her. Good thing is, she is very kind and pretty simple. She is also beautiful and her big puppy eyes are just so adorable. Si Yu immediately falls in love with Simon but sad thing is she just doesn't know the complicated issue with Simon, let alone it also involves her now besty Fang Ning. Despite being annoying at times, very clumsy, too boy crazy...her heart is pure so it will be sad seeing her cry. Actually, I'm still trying to understand how her journalist/reporter experience fits in with a furniture company but anywho...
Omg...I'm finding myself enjoying this drama more than I thought I would....And that's usually a good surprise. That said, let me do a character review (up to ep. 14):
Fang Ning: I love this girl, wow. She is such a breath of fresh air and so relatable at times. It's safe to say, her character is the main reason I stuck around. Zhou Yu Tong is doing a fantastic job. Fang Ning appears as this cold, unapproachable rich girl with a traumatic past therefore protect her feelings with all her mighty. But as soon you get to know her, she is such a relatable, funny, strongwilled but likable person with a kind heart beneath that tough exterior. As much as she is mischievous, plays tricks to get what she want, she is also an open book. She made her intentions clear with Ling Rui and even when she falls in love with him( or shall say realise her feelings), she tells him. Fang Ning also appears quite competent at her job, yeah she actually works despite coming from money....so bada** too. Actually her tough personality at work is what works considering there are some bad people (vultures) ready to derail her effort. Overall, I have not enjoyed a character this much since Wu Jin Yan in Story of Yanxi Palace.
Ling Rui: He is hot, kind so humble and a doctor..what more could a girl possibly ask for. So it's no secret that his face attracted our FL but his personality piqued her curiosity and made her fall in love with him or shall I say, the best candidate for her future child. Simon Gong's acting was a little stiff for me but certainly improved as the eps. go on. Ling Rui is meant to be expressive and an open book whilst Fang Ning is the complicated one but the irony is he is actually quite puzzling at times. In the beginning, he enters into the marriage contract out of gratitude...afterall he remembers FN as that friend when they were young who offered to give him all her money to help him. But you will start to see him falling for our FL bit by bit; however he holds back his feelings and keeping FN at arms length. Because of FN tricky behavior he comes off as judgemental towards her and sceptic of her feelings for him. The good thing is he quickly come around and starts to open up more to his feelings. Oh I love his perspective on relationships especially that even partners are allowed to have secrets too.. My dream guy...hehe
Okay, everyone needs therapy in this drama...OMG..the toxicity is too much. I do not ship Earth with either P'Sam or Stud at all. Everyone of this teio need to go their separate ways and do some self-development along the way. I was furious when Earth forgave P'Sam in last season and now I feel like he needs to leave P'Sam no-matter how hard it might be (yeah first loves are hard to move on from unfortunately) and pick himself up. P'Sam disrespected Earth and he doesn't seem like he will change (he is very selfish)...so he needs a boi bye. And Stud, ooh, this boy needs therapy. I tend to wonder if he actually likes Earth or wants to be like Earth. His idea of love for Earth is a bit twisted and no you don't go about sleeping with your crush/friend's boyfriend...nope. Because what's the point other than for your crush/friend to loath you. I quite like how self-aware he is of his behavior but then that's the problem because self-awareness usually leads to change and Stud doesn't seem to be doing any.
This is actually on the top of my list of danmei novels at the moment. Some people found the plot convoluted,…
Say that again...A HAPPY Ending is all I needed and RanWan deserve it for all the heartbreaking journey they went through. And oh the bonus point was how they still incorporated Xian Jun in this ending. It was so befitting and what can I say, it he is a great Villain...hahaha

Thanks to you too, I've got to enjoy discussing this masterpiece :) Yeah, I absolutely understand how some would find it too sensitive because like you said...it is triggering. I cried many many times, felt so angry and that raw sadness mamy many because of this book. I took so many breaks to be able to finish it, so it's definitely not for the faint hearted. Funny story, I was reading it at work and got to that scene when (you know who) dies (after the Tianyin pavilion scene) and the reaction just broke me (everything sort of went silent in my head). Before I knew it tears started streaming down and all my colleagues came flocking thinking that they had done something to me etc..lol...Yeah, moral of the story is, don't read this novel at work.

Wow, I feel like I have just received an early Christmas present. Thanks Oh, it seems they got the height difference right...hehe I remember in the book when Chu Wanning came back after that years hiatus (not giving details, in case spoiler) and noticed, oops Mo Ran is now taller than him..lol...
It's really nice to discuss this book with someone who enjoyed it as much as me. Now, the drama anticipation continues...

Omg, you're the best. Beyond grateful. Let me enjoy this gift...
Just finished..huh Aww, our leads look cute. Hot Springs is my favourite one(wink wink, hehe). I read someone commenting that this novel is such a testament that there is no such thing as the most painful but only the more painful. And I couldn't agree more. I remember reading and thanking, if these two have a happy ending then I can get through anything in my life because there is no way it is going to be this painful...

Omg, yes and yes...Mo Ran/ Tan Xia Jun is one hell of a character. I was mind blown by both personalities. I gotta confess though, after the rebirth, there were times I actually thought..Mo Ran deserved what was coming especially for hurting my Chu Wanning but when the truth came out, I ate all my words (even shed a tear or 2). I mean the twist and turns in this book are like never seen before. Okay, the reason why I'm looking forward to Shi Mei is because the character revelation shocked me. I mean I kinda had an inkling that there was more to him than the timid, alturistic boy so when the plot twist happens...I was like WTH! Oh gosh, this book is truly brilliant...I might restart it again when my mind is prepared. My only question in regards to the drama is...How are they going to remove the BL part and still stay loyal to the book. Because to me, it seems it was the love that the leads had for eachother that somehow got manipulated and to Ta Xian Jun love and hate became blurry whilst Mo Ran realise his love himself. But then bad people used their feelings and pit them against eachother which pretty much led to so much of the plot. So basically their love is one of the main plots, and if they remove that in the drama...how will they explain certain things??? I'm curious. Oops, got a little too excited there...sorry for the long essay...hehe
