It is safe to say that Kyung Chae is having a bad week- sadly, this is only the beginning for her- it's only going to get worse.......far worse.....
Tae Gyeong saved the Chairman from Stella, repeatedly, as the Chairman continued to provoke her. In the next episode, the Chairman will have Tae Gyeong kidnapped and beaten up. How will Lucia save him? Maybe Tae Joo can assist.
Lucia went to see the Chairman and continued in her role as loving and dutiful wife π.
Lucia has re-entered Stella's home and Stella seems to have cut ties with Kyung Chae.
Seon Jae and Soo Jung debuted their relationship to the family ππππ, sending shockwavesππ.
Seon Jae said something about Se Ri to a drunken and passed out Kyung Chae. Turns out she was not so passed out and after he left, she stirred and wondered what he meant by what she said. It's time for her to start investigating. She will mention it to Manger Gong in the next episode and Manger Gong will collapse in shock, and she will seek out Seon Jae at the company and beg him to keep quiet about the switch.
The chairman killed Stellaβs son as well. He also had TGβs parents killed! Though they are not mentioned,…
I hope the actress playing Se Ri will be able to pull off all the emotions. A lot will be coming her way: 1) Learning about Mi So and Lucia; 2) Finding out she was switched at birth; 3) Learning that Mi So is the daughter of someone she loves and adores- Kyung Chae; 4) Finding out that Stella is Mi So's grandmother. 5) Finding that her dad, the Chairman, murdered Mi So's Dad and has committed other crimes.
She is going to have to grow up really quickly during all this. It will help her to mature.
What if Seon Jae is the Chairman's illegitimate son and they both don't know? That would be such an interesting twist and the foundation for it is certainly there: 1) We never hear any mention of Seon Jae's Dad. I am assuming he is a Kim. All we know is that Seon Jae is an orphan and I think Pan Sul's wife mentioned that his parents or at least his mother, Pan Sul's wife's sister, is dead. They have never even mentioned Seon Jae's Dad's family. Maybe Seon Jae's mom had an affair with the Chairman, never told anyone, got pregnant and never revealed who the father was, even to her sister? 2) Even though they were engaged, Seon Jae and Kyung Chae have never so much as held hands-as Soo Jung pointed out on Friday. It's like the writers deliberately avoided any skinship between the two. At least with Lucia and the Chairman, Lucia had no plans to kiss or sleep with Chairman so she deliberately avoided any skinship. But with Seon Jae and Kyung Chae, I think there could have been a little attraction and they are both young.
If this is true- Se Ri's Dad becomes her granddad again- that would be hilarious π€£π€£π€£. So is Ji Seop and Seon Jae being brothers- they even went to the same university and attended the same classes π€£π€£.
Will we ever find out why Seon Jae targeted Mingang? Was it simply greed and ambition? Why did he suddenly leave his job as a judge to join Mingang? I hope there is more to the story and maybe he does have his own revenge story.
The Se Ri conundrum: Lucia needs to tell Se Ri the truth about who she is before she finds out in the most painful way possible. Which is exactly what will happen because it's a dramaππππππ . With Se Ri now working at the restaurant , she will meet many different people including, possibly, Mi So's former best friend. That best friend might recognize Se Ri and Se Ri might ask her where the columbarium is. The friend might tell her and she will go on her own and find out the truth. I can already hear the outro music playing as Se Ri stares at the picture of Mi So and Lucia, and as she remembers all her conversations with Lucia, and when Seol Hui slapped her in the foyer of Mingang four years ago. Then she might realise that Lucia targeted her for revenge. πΆπ΅
Everyone tiptoeing around Se Ri is not helping her- only when she finds out the severity of what she did, and the fact that for four years, Mi So's mom plotted her revenge against her, can she begin to pay for what she did.
The Chairman conundrum: I keep forgetting he is a criminal. Aside from murdering Pil Doo on his wedding day, and stealing the documents from Pan Sul, he has not committed any other crimes and has been nothing but a doting husband to Lucia and her greatest supporter. He has also spent a good chunk of the show being Seon Jae and Kyung Chae's, and now Stellaβs victim. So I feel sorry for him. When the truth about Lucia comes out, his heart will be brokenπ . I hope this is the end of hospitals for him. He should make it to a jail cell.
Kyung Chae is having a bad day π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£. And poor Ji Seop is working so hard π€£π€£π€£.
I think Stella handled everything so well. I love the conversation she had with Se Ri. She did not go there to harm her but just to talk and I like how they talked about Se Ri needing to process things. Stella is also being merciful to Kyung Chae by not telling her the truth- that is really kind of her. It must be because Ho Se loved Kyung Chae and vice versa, and she knows that the truth will break Kyung Chae. In the preview, she even tells Kyung Chae to live a better life. I am so glad she slapped her, though. Kyung Chae does not regret her actions from four years ago and she stands by them. She is more concerned about the embarrassment she faced at the launch of the online platform than she is about the fact that someone died and that is why it will take this baby switch tragedy to make her realise what she did is wrong. But even then, I donβt think she will change. She will blame her father for teaching her the weak should be crushed. She may never acknowledge the role she played. She might just accuse Lucia of making her daughter weak.
I am glad Seon Jae told Stella the truth- he is the one who started the lie so it's only fitting that he is the one to correct it, even for the wrong motives. In his anger, he wanted to punish Lucia and I donβt think he thought about the repercussions for his daughter. Or maybe he did? Why did he need so much liquid courage to tell Stella the truth? Even drinking from the bottle? It means he felt somewhat uneasy doing it, and, subconsciously, might have been worried about the results of his actions, especially for Se Ri. This is a minor change for him. He usually does things so flippantly and does not care.
It also had to be Seon Jae to tell Stella the truth and not Lucia. I think if Lucia had told her, the outcome might have been completely different and Stella would not have handled it as well as she is now. She might have secretly plotted to harm Se Ri. I think Stella is being really fair right now- instead of secretly plotting against Se Ri, she spoke to Lucia and told her that she will decide what to do with her and Se Ri. She is being really gracious and is continuing to keep Luciaβs identity a secret. Se Ri does need to be held accountable for her actions, and I am glad Lucia said that she will make sure that Se Ri is punished. However, I do think itβs unfair of Lucia to ask Stella to forgive Se Ri so soon. It is a hard ask, especially when Lucia cannot forgive her yet and it will be a while before she does.
I donβt blame Stella for trying to kill the Chairman- he is the root cause of the problem. He murdered Ho Se, raised Kyung Chae badly and could have prevented things from escalating with Mi So when Seol Hui went to see him. Tae Gyeong will obviously save the Chairman, so I am not scared for him.
Are Pansul and Manager Gong related? Why is she suddenly using his phrases? π€£π€£
Pan Sul said his wife is like a carp-shaped bun with no filling πππ.
I am really enjoying Kyung Chaeβs and Seon Jaeβs interactions. Since they no longer have any use for each other, they are being real with each other.
I love how opportunistic Soo Jung is and Soo Jung and Seon Jae as a couple- hilarious- when they were talking to Kyung Chae from the couch π€£π€£π€£. He even called Kyung Chae his sister-in- lawπ€£π€£.
Seon Jaeβs face is so expressive. I donβt know how the actor keeps himself from laughing with all of Seon Jaeβs antics. Seon Jae has managed to elevate himself to the only lead of the show, and I am not complaining ππ.
Oh I think I have to edit this post bc I misunderstood. Someone was joking and I thought SJ actor got an award...…
He won for this show? Wow. ππππ. He deserves it. Seon Jae is really a joy to watchπ€£π€£π€£. It's so weird because I really disliked his character from the beginning. He used to really annoy me but something changed over the last couple of weeks. He is the same character but different somehow- I don't know if it was intentional on the writers' part or it's just a testament to how good an actor the guy playing him is. He went from just being a villain to being a complex character. I should hate him but I just can't ππππ.
The actor has really made the character his own and has brought so much life to the show.
This drama, I swear, is driving me crazy. The lawyer finds yet another way to survive.
ππππ It's Seon Jae's world, and they all just live in it ππππ. He makes the show and a show is only as good as its villain. So he needs to survive.
Great news- Stella did not collapse but she is devastated. Lucia kneels before her to beg for forgiveness. The episode ends with Stella strangling the Chairman. I don't think she will succeed in killing him, though. He still needs to pay for his crimes.
Soo Jung approaches Seon Jae with a plan and they are now pretending to be a couple ππ. Kyung Chae is soooo angry and screaming. I can't wait to hear this new plan πππ.
Looks like Kyung Chae will definitely be the last to find out about her daughters. It makes sense because when she finds out, it will be the end of Kyung Chae as we know her.
Lucia was so cool when she 'dumped' Seon Jae. And confessed to Tae Gyeongβ€β€β€. Finally, some romance. But as much as I love it, they should only start their relationship after she gets a divorce πͺ.
But having said that, why did it take so long for me to notice how much chemistry Seon Jae and Lucia have?π. Too bad Seon Jae is a baddieπ- but maybe that's why their chemistry works. The actors really enjoy working together.
Lucia said she wants to raise Se Ri- her bond with her is growing π. But how do you raise an adult?π§π€£.
Se Ri seems to be a rude waitressπ- she will change over time.
I loved the kdrama scenarios that Pan Sul came up with. He got four of them right- the first fourπππ.
What is Seon Jae's motive for telling Stella the truth? Revenge against Lucia? Cutting Kyung Chae off at the knees? Both? Did he tell Stella, knowing that there is a possibility she might harm Se Ri? I would hope not but he is desperate and has not yet developed the parental instinct where he feels the need to protect his child. I will hold out hope that by the end of the show, he will understand what it means to be a father and will actually want a genuine relationship with Se Ri π. When he is stripped of all his ambition and greed.
I think Stella might collapse after hearing the news. She might have a heart attack, stroke or aneurysm. That might be the only way to protect the Se Ri from her right now- she needs to be incapacitated for a while. I was thinking about why Stella has changed so much- I think it has to do with Ho Se. She probably still feels guilty about abandoning him as a baby to get married so her desire to protect his bloodline has gone into overdrive. She can make up for the time she lost with him, through Se Ri. And I think Se Ri's job triggered her because Ho Se might have also become a waiter in his youth to survive.
Kyung Chae has been on the backburner this week- she needs to stop being pawn and come back to being a queen. I wonder what her next move will be. The shareholder meeting will certainly happen and the Chairman needs to return. I loved watching her throw that box at Seon Jaeπ€£π€£π€£. I think it's the first time those two have ever been real with each other. In another life, they might have made a great couple.
This show should get major points for unpredictability a.k.a Seon Jae π. He throws a wrench into things and flips the script. The reveal to Stella was so unexpected πππ.
I am sorry this happened to Stella, but she brought it on herself by not doing her due diligence and verifying…
For me, this one is really complicated because if it was Mi So and not Se Ri, everything would have been fine. The negative test would have just told her that Se Ri is not her grandchild but not that she actually had a grandchild that existed. Plus, Kyung Chae had no reason to lie to her and no reason to. Kyung Chae was so sincere during their initial conversation, so believing her was easy.
Had the truth been revealed then, Manager Gong would not have run the DNA test, Seon Jae would not have been alienated from Kyung Chae and he would not have happened upon a delirious Manager Gong and the truth might have never come out.
So Seon Jae forging the DNA results was a necessary evil, and truthfully, does not change the fact that Stella has lost both her son and granddaughter. She just took a little longer to get to the grieving process, with the added sting that for a few weeks, she experienced what it felt like to have a living grandchild. So now it's like a phantom pregnancy, I guess.
I also think that Stella bonding with Se Ri over the past few weeks, will help her to forgive Se Ri in the future because Se Ri is no longer just a stranger to her, but someone she loved, momentarily.
The actor playing Seon Jae is having a lot of fun in this role πππππ. Seon Jae is too funny and he just puts a smile on my face π.
I think after getting rejected by Lucia for the umpteenth time, Seon Jae went to Stella, started drinking her boozeπ, and revealed that Se Ri is his and Seol Hui's daughter. Not sure how Stella will take this but, at least he is holding the DNA test results. Also not sure if he will tell her what happened to her real granddaughter. The evil smile he gave Stella at the end = golden πππ.
Before that, Stella tried to get Se Ri to quit her job and she seems to have refused. Se Ri stood her ground, making Tae Joo proud. He smiled secretly π.
I doubt we will be getting a preview- the reveal to Stella at the end is too big to spoil with a preview.
