Yes, the kidnappers acting on their own makes the most sense — revenge against the Chairman ties directly back…
Seon Jae's indifference is to be expected- I would actually be worried if he showed concern because I would suspect him of having an ulterior motive. Seon Jae needs to have a 'coming to himself' moment, like the prodigal son did. He has lived selfishly his entire adult life - and probably since he was an orphaned child- his only goal has been money and power. So having genuine feelings for someone and not planning to use them is so foreign to him and beyond his realm of thought and capabilities. He has lived this "less than human' persona for so long that the thought of shedding it is unfathomable.
I can only hope that while everyone is frantically searching for Se Ri, he has some time to reflect and think about what it would mean if he lost Se Ri. I hope he can recall what he felt like when he briefly grieved for Mi So and that feeling, no matter how small, can propel him to join the search. If I were writing the show, I would have him arrive at the kidnapping site just after Kyung Chae and Lucia, and have him jump into the fire to pull Se Ri out. Sadly, such heroic scenes are reserved for the male lead so I will not be surprised if a still recovering Tae Gyeong shows up and is the one to save Se Ri. Him or Tae Joo. Or maybe Lucia. I am not sure Kyung Chae will be willing to go into the fire because she could not go into the ocean to save Se Ri when she was trying to commit suicide. But she had sprained her ankle, so she had an excuse. Maybe this can be Kyung Chae's moment to redeem herself.
I am just so relieved that Seon Jae is not the mastermind behind the kidnapping 😅😂.
The kidnappers are working on their own- they want revenge against the Chairman- which makes perfect sense. Our information broker, Seon Jae, told Lucia and Lucia was appalled that he didn't care that his daughter had been kidnapped.
A fire has broken out in the room where Se Ri is being held. Both Kyung Chae and Lucia are racing to look for her. Will this bond the two mothers?
This experience will make Se Ri realise just how scared Mi So must have been and she will start on her journey of seeking forgiveness.
No preview.
There is no way they could have brought the show to a satisfying end by episode 121. It's episode 118, and Lucia has not yet taken full control of the company. Episode 119 and 120 will likely be spent dealing with Se Ri's kidnapping and the repercussions of that. So Lucia's plans might resume from episode 121. So it means Kyung Chae will not find out about Mi So yet- just about Se Ri's parentage or just that Lucia is Se Ri's biological mother. She will have to find out about Mi So next week. Hearing about Mi So will incapacitate Kyung Chae and we need her to continue fighting Lucia for a few more episodes.
This might be a long shot, but I think Lucia was the one that kidnapped Seri. I bet it's to teach Seri what it…
She is one of my suspects too. I really wish it were so but Lucia is not so strategic. And would she trust those guys to not hurt Se Ri? It would be a good way for Se Ri to open up about what she did to Mi So and for her to start paying for it. So far, Lucia has not been successful in getting her to talk about it.
I would be pleasantly surprised if Lucia had the courage to do it. Recreating the kidnapping seems to be the only way to deal with the Se Ri issue, without Lucia revealing her identity.
The Chairman actually said that Tae Gyeong should grateful for what he did with his parents' technology 😂😂😂. He is appalled that Tae Gyeong is trying to get revenge🤣🤣🤣.
The race is on to get the shares back to Mins. Everyone is a suspect except: Kyung Chae; Jakyung and her parents; Tae Gyeong; Tae Joo; and Yeon Ah. I even suspect Manager Gong 😂😂😂. Did she drug Kyung Chae? Was it a coincidence that Se Ri had to work late?
The fake contract - when confronted with the contract, Lucia said that the Mins and Seon Jae can do such things but when she does them, it's a problem? And Seon Jae warned her that she has gone too far this time. It might be a case of when the good guy tries to go as low as the bad guys, things horribly wrong. If any of the Mins kidnapped Se Ri- it's because of the fake contract. If the kidnapper is wise, he or she can get shares from both Lucia and Kyung Chae. Will this crisis bring some peace between the two women?
So will Lucia, Tae Gyeong (and Se Ri) move in with Stella? Stella never mentioned Se Ri.
Ja Kyung and Ji Seop are hilarious- Ja Kyung's discomfort with the Chairman's facial paralysis and Ji Seop trying to figure out how paralysed his Dad is 🤣🤣🤣.
Kung Chae suddenly cares about her Dad? Even the worst of families band together during a family crisis- especially when it's about legacy and inheritance.
The Chairman signing away his shares is monumental — it strips him of the very power he’s clung to, and even…
Yes- it is time to Se Ri to face the consequences of her actions- if things go according to Lucia's pace, she will only find out years from now.
If Se Ri was not biologically related to Lucia, I think Lucia would have instigated the kidnapping- there was a time when she was planning to have Se Ri play dead just to get to Kyung Chae. But now, Lucia is too emotionally entangled.
The kidnapping reveal will be interesting- as much as I want Seon Jae to change and be a better man, he has not encountered anything yet that would initiate such a transition. He may or may never reach that point. So the kidnapping fits his modus operandi perfectly. Plus he has not done anything majorly evil in a while. His story has to move along somehow. He can ask for both the shares and the ledgers and will likely get them. But the part that does not make sense is what happens afterwards? If he is the majority owner, he can kick both Lucia and Tae Gyeong out and that would bring Lucia's revenge journey with Mins to an abrupt end. How would they get the shares back from Seon Jae? But if the kidnappers are acting on their own, it will have a much wider impact and teach the Chairman a lesson. It might even awaken a protective instinct in Seon Jae. The kidnappers can demand shares too. Aren't the kidnappers on the run? Did the Chairman cancel the hit on them?
Is it possible that Seon Jae's kidnapping quota for the show is already full? If it is him- is this the final straw that breaks the camel's back? Will he be beyond redemption? And if it is him- Seon Jae's plans almost always go awry so I will not be surprised if the kidnappers turn on him and refuse to give Se Ri back because of what the Chairman did to them.
But more than anything- it would be a far more compelling story if Stella or Lucia were the guilty party.
The Chairman actually signed away his shares?! At least he got the contract and handkerchief back. Then he seems to have had a stroke- he has some facial paralysis on one side of his face.
Lucia asked Se Ri if she would like to move in with her. That is a major ask, coming from a stepmother of a few months.
Se Ri has been kidnapped by the same guys who kidnapped Tae Gyeong. Do they want revenge against the Chairman? The Chairman did try to eliminate them and I'm pretty sure Lucia gave them the recording she made of the Chairman . She will be so mad at herself for that. It would also be a good lesson for the Chairman on how his actions can come back to affect his family.
OR could Seon Jae have hired the kidnappers to pressure Lucia into giving him the shares? Does he even know them? These are the two obvious scenarios behind the kidnapping. If the writers wanted to really shock us, they could make either Stella or Lucia the mastermind. Here's why: Stella is making amends with people, including Tae Gyeong, so for her to turn around and have Se Ri kidnapped and beaten the same way Mi So was, would be shocking. She did say she would decide the punishment. As for Lucia, she is desperate to have Se Ri remember Mi So so what better way than to recreate Mi So’s kidnapping? And Lucia has the contact information for the kidnappers. But Lucia is not that strategic so we will just go with the obvious candidates and reasons for the kidnapping. I doubt the writers will tell us today.
So I guess the revenge will take a backseat to finding Se Ri for the next one or two episodes. Is this how Se Ri will get her comeuppance? Will she be beaten up the same way she beat up Mi So? I guess this is how the truth about her parentage will come out.
I really enjoyed this episode. While Lucia’s decision to declare war on the family was an emotional one and not a strategic one, it was necessary. However, the plan has many flaws and leaves her vulnerable to attack at any moment.
I hope Lucia put TaeGyeong under an alias at the hospital. But looks like he will be back at the company in the next episode. How will he explain that nasty beating? I can't wait for Ji Seop's reaction🤣🤣 .
Tae Gyeong's beating reminded Lucia of the trauma she went through after Se Ri beat up Mi So, so I don’t think the writers will be cruel enough to make her go through that again with Se Ri. That being said, I think that now is a good time for Se Ri, and the others, to find out that Lucia is Mi So's Mom. I think it will hurt Se Ri but it might be less of a shock than finding out on her own later. Ja Kyung already said that it appears Lucia has a grudge against the family so it will make sense to Se Ri.
Stella asked if Lucia will just leave Se Ri at the house and the answer should be yes. While they may be biologically related, Se Ri was raised by the Mins and they are her guardians and she loves them. In the same way, if Mi So was alive, I would not expect her to leave Lucia to live with her biological family. And Kyung Chae would never do anything to hurt Se Ri. Right now, Lucia should focus on one battle at a time, and right now, the battle is for Mingang.
The Mingang battle is an interesting one because Stella is the one who mentioned a few weeks ago that Tae Gyeong is the rightful owner of the company. And Lucia reiterated that to Kyung Chae in this episode. But Tae Gyeong has never expressed any interest in owning the company- all he wanted was justice for his parents and for the Chairman to go to jail. I think he was prepared to leave after that. So I wonder what he will do with the company at the end- I don’t think he wants it and I don’t blame him because it was built on his parents’ blood. Would he let Soo Jung run it or hire a business consultant? Or maybe he will run it but he has never been ambitious.
I think if Tae Gyeong’s goals from the beginning were justice for his parents and to take the company, his revenge arc would have been much more compelling. He might have become a grey character and might have even married Kyung Chae in his bid for the company. He would not have spent those four years doing nothing. It would have made his rivalry with Seon Jae much more interesting because they would both be trying to steal the company.
In the episode, Seon Jae is more of an observer. He asks Kyung Chae what her plans are and he just listens- he does not provide her with any information or any advice. But the look on his face after Kyung Chae said she would force Lucia to divorce her father and leave the company, showed that he doubted the plan would succeed. Seon Jae is an information broker- gathering information and spreading it as he sees fit and has been quite useful, in this regard. So his lack of opinion in this episode is interesting.
Seo Jae is also a wildcard- there is no telling what he will do. While he is a villain, he is not the main villain. He is not the target of Lucia’s revenge journey and has been more of a stumbling block to Lucia’s plans because her plans interfered with his plans. What makes him more unique is the fact that he has a romantic history with the avenger and has kid with her- so complicated. And he has also fallen victim to the main villains. What will he do now that the Mingang will be in Lucia and Tae Gyeong’s hands? Will he blackmail them by threatening to tell Se Ri everything? Or will he just tell Se Ri about Mi So and Lucia? But that will potentially lead to him being exposed too. But if the Min family loses the company, they will be of no use to him so the truth coming out won’t really matter. Or will he do something else or nothing at all? It will be interesting to see what he comes up with next.
I like how the writers do things- even if Seon jae had not informed Kyung Chae that Tae Gyeong and Lucia were romantically involved and working together- it became quite evident when she trashed the place and threatened the family.
I hope Lucia attached divorce papers to the share transfer agreement form that she gave to the Chairman🙏🏾🤣 .
I am glad that they quickly turned the Chairman’s heartache into anger. I really did not want to feel sorry for him. Having said that, when the truth about Se Ri's parentage comes out, I don't think Se Ri will be safe from the Chairman- he does not love Se Ri as much as she loves him. Losing Mingang will make him dangerous and unpredictable. He will want to hurt Lucia and Se Ri is the best way to do so. On top of that- Se Ri's biological Dad has been stealing from the Chairman for years and had him kidnapped twice, and institutionalised. So he still has an unsettled score with Seon Jae. It's safe to say that Se Ri is not safe. Maybe Kyung Chae will die while trying to protect Se Ri from the Chairman 🤔. Everything started because of this villainous father and daughter duo- so this will serve as a poetic ending- but one that would break Se Ri's (and Manager Gong's) heart to pieces 💔.
You’re right, Tae Gyeong’s beating shifts the balance completely. His absence leaves Lucia exposed, and the…
I think once Kyung Chae learns who Lucia is, and she realises just how much Seon Jae has done to protect Lucia's identity, she will force him to a side- Lucia's side. In her mind, his actions make him an enemy of the Mins and Lucia's ally, which is not the case. So he will not get to choose, he will simply be placed there. Then he will have to decide whether to step up or not.
So I guess Tae Gyeong's time at the company is done? There is no way the Chairman will allow him to work there.
Is Stella next? He threatened her as well.
Lucia throwing a tantrum will not help either, unless that scene is a dream. But we are close to the end so there is no time for dreams. I guess Kyung Chae will tell Ji Seop about Lucia and Tae Gyeong. Ji Seop has a very important clue in his mind- a few weeks ago, he answered Tae Gyeong's phone and the caller ID said Mi So's Mom. He even noted that the voice sounded like Lucia's. If he can remember that, it won’t take long for Kyung Chae to figure out exactly who Lucia is. Her first course of action will likely be to separate her from Se Ri. Then she will realise that Seon Jae faked a death certificate to protect Lucia. Kyung Chae was already suspicious of him and Seol Hui and this will confirm her suspicions. He will be on the outs again and considered to be an enemy of the Mins.
Hopefully, Se Ri finds out about Lucia being Mi So's Mom next week. Se Ri is really the Chairman's granddaughter- she, like the Chairman, hired someone to beat up her enemy 🙈.
Ji Seop mentioned that Lucia might steal their Dad's shares. Is that possible?
I like that Kyung Chae is overlooking blood relationships and focussing on her relationship and bond with Se Ri. That is really mature of her. It was nice to see her genuinely smile. It has been a while since she has been happy. I wish they had shown Kyung Chae visiting Se Ri at work.
Will Kyung Chae and Se Ri's bond survive who Se Ri's biological mother is?
I love Pan Sul and his wife. His wife can read him so well and she figured out that he sold the shares 🤣🤣🤣.
Seon Jae is getting all the best lines and the his delivery of them is so well done. I have fallen victim to his…
I just remembered another contradiction of his- in the much earlier episodes- when he found out that Mi So was his daughter. He took a day off work and actually grieved for her. And then the next day, he pretended not to care.
Poor Tae Gyeong is beaten to a pulp. This will cause Lucia to go crazy at home in the next episode, in front of the Chairman. Will she take a darker turn?
Kyung Chae is spending more time with Se Ri, which is really nice- they even sleep together.
In the preview, Seon Jae looks concerned that Tae Gyeong is not at his desk .
It also looks like Tae Gyeong will be out of commission for a while after that beating. I am starting to wonder that if all the Mins join forces, including the Chairman, will Lucia + Tae Gyeong + Stella + Tae Joo be enough to take them down? It might be time for Seon Jae to step up- the only side he has ever picked is himself but I think Lucia's team might need his help. I could be wrong or wishful thinking on my part. But the odds are not currently in favour of the revenge team and adding Se Ri to the mix makes Lucia even more vulnerable. If she feels Se Ri's life will be threatened, she will back down.
SJ is not just a fantastic villain — he is thriving in the spotlight. His delivery has been razor‑sharp, every…
Seon Jae is getting all the best lines and the his delivery of them is so well done. I have fallen victim to his recent charms😂😂. The change in his character is so small but so impactful. I would have loved more of a backstory on him but I doubt there is any time for that. He is one character in the show for whom I would like to see some character growth- he is quite an enigma. His motivations are clear and not clear at the same time. In the scene when Lucia confronted him about telling Kyung Chae about Se Ri's parentage- he made it seem like he did it intentionally. Yet he didn't. He did not expect Kyung Chae to hear what he said. But he couldn't tell Lucia that it was not his intention- he simply doubled down and threatened to reveal even more to Kyung Chae. I found that interesting. He also could have lied to Lucia and told her that Kyung Chae does not know anything but he didn't. The lie might have helped him to blindside Lucia in the future. He also has not revealed to Lucia that Manager Gong knows, so things are not entirely in his control. Manager Gong can reveal that Lucia is Se Ri's biological mother at any time. It will be interesting to see how everything unfolds. Seon Jae has also made so many things easier for Lucia- even though it was his fault that Stella believed that Se Ri was her grandchild. He told Stella the truth. Lucia was reluctant to so do. Now Kyung Chae knows too so it means that she will no longer be bothering Stella to ask for an explanation- a fact that Lucia was happy to point out to Stella yesterday and she used that as an excuse to visit Stella.
What I love is that, in spite of everything, Lucia is open to the idea of Seon Jae being a Dad to Se Ri. She has not closed that door and basically told him yesterday that if he insists on continuing on his current trajectory, he will end up alone. She is trying to give him a lifeline, which, unfortunately, he is continuing to reject. I hope that by the end of the show, he will become a better man and actually want to be a part of his daughter's life, and that he will pay for his crimes.
That conversation between Se Ri and Kyung Chae was really beautiful. Brought a tear to my eye. It is a really difficult situation. All Se Ri wants is to be a Min and to blend into the family.
Lucia and Tae Joo should really leave Stella alone and give her some time to grieve and process. She needs some time away from Lucia. Revenge has been her driving force for 20 years and now she needs to think about forgiving Se Ri? Let the woman breathe a little.
When I saw theTae Gyeong-car scene, I was worried that Tae Joo might rescue him and be harmed. But I remembered seeing the preview with Tae Gyeong tied up. Also, it would be too cruel for Stella if something were to happen to Tae Joo. She is only hanging on by a thread as it is.
We got a little history on Tae Joo- he was living on the streets of New York when Stella found him and rescued him. It explains his undying loyalty to her. I think that is all there is to his past.
I wondered why Manager Gong didn't tell Kyung Chae about Lucia being Se Ri's biological mother. It's because she wants Se Ri to stay in Kyung Chae's life and the truth will shatter everything. Also glad Seon Jae is not planning to tell either.........for now. There's still Pandora's Box that he invited Kyung Chae to open 🤔.
I wonder what Seon Jae's next plan is. Every plan has fallen through. So how will he get what he thinks he deserves? His story needs to start heading in a different direction- the Mingang thing has stalled. And I doubt the Chairman has forgotten that Seon Jae kidnapped him from the hospital, so his life must be in danger too.
And is Tae Gyeong seriously still keeping that ledger under his mattress? He looked at the bed when he mentioned it to Lucia 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️.
At least the shareholder meeting was called off. Ji Seop is taking his loss of the director position rather well😂😂😂. And his father-in-law is ecstatic 🤣🤣🤣.
I can only hope that while everyone is frantically searching for Se Ri, he has some time to reflect and think about what it would mean if he lost Se Ri. I hope he can recall what he felt like when he briefly grieved for Mi So and that feeling, no matter how small, can propel him to join the search. Tae Gyeong is alive and recovering quite well in hospital.
The final part of the revenge is in full gear- but I think it might stall when Se Ri finds out about Lucia and Mi So.
Thankfully, the Chairman's health did not deteriorate because of the shocking change in his wife. He seems to be bed-ridden and heartbroken, though.
Is Stella next? He threatened her as well.
