This drama should never have actually been described as a revenge genre. It's a pure tragedy. We have 3 victims…
We'll see. He cannot be entirely good- that without be so boring🤮🤢 But he can soften. And we have seen instances of a softened heart- like when he grieved for Mi So for a day or during his birthday when he was reminiscing about himself and Lucia. So it would not be farfetched. He reminds me of a character from a show I watched years ago- Gossip Girl. There was a character called Chuck Bass- he was so evil but as we got to know him better- he became a fan favourite. He didn't really change but he softened a bit.
Is this a case of re-writing history? There is no way Seol Hui was ten months pregnant when she was poisoned. I doubt Seon Jae would have given her the poison at full-term since the chances of the baby surviving would have been higher. Secondly- two days of labour? So she was at home, alone and poisoned for two days and only called an ambulance after that? I love you, writers, but that makes no sense at all. Se Ri should have been really premature that is why we believed she was in the NICU for so long.
Kyung Chae, on the other hand, gave birth at full-term and she looked like she was full term, unlike Seol Hui.
The hypocrisy of Kyung Chae- she told her Dad that he was raising a family and because of that, he should not have been making enemies. She was raising Se Ri and made an enemy🤔.
It was so chilling when Kyung Chae demanded to know who was responsible for Mi So's death and Lucia responded that Mi So jumped off Mingang four years prior.
I love how Stella told Lucia that she and Kyung Chae are each other's saviours. They have to find a way to work things out.
Tae Gyeong and Seon Jae act like they are siblings 🤣🤣🤣. They hate each other but they can be civil to one another. They can bond over both receiving beatings from the Chairman 😂😂😂. Tae Gyeong is also pushing for Seon Jae to have a relationship with his daughter. Literally begging and warning him that this might be his last chance. Is Seon Jae really in so deep, like he believes, that he is beyond saving? Seon Jae- please just go visit Se Ri in the hospital 🙏.
Seon Jae did tell Tae Gyeong that it's not over- I wonder what he is planning next🤔. Lucia telling Kyung Chae everything will throw a wrench into any plans.
This drama should never have actually been described as a revenge genre. It's a pure tragedy. We have 3 victims…
So true. It is not the typical revenge drama- which makes it unique. Personally, there is no character in this show for whom I have a personal investment in their downfall, not even Chairman. Yes- he should serve time for murdering Pil Doo, at the very least, but a handkerchief is barely enough evidence. Unless the dirty cop acts as a witness. Time has already been served for Tae Gyeong's parents and Mi So so those will be hard to overturn. So maybe the Chairman losing his company will have to be enough.
The other villain- Seon Jae- his greatest crime is poisoning a pregnant Seol Hui twenty years ago. And the other is embezzling funds with the Chairman and stealing those funds. And his third crime is managing to win fans like me over to his side 🤣. We can overlook the kidnappings🤣. So in terms of truly evil villains, he falls incredibly short. It is also really unclear where the writers are going with his story. So close to the end, we generally have an idea of each characters' fate- but it is really unclear with him. I think they made him likeable for a reason.
Finally, Kyung Chae is a tragic villainess. She will bear the consequences of her actions. I no longer hate her like I did for 83% of the show. Now, I just feel sorry for her and genuinely want her remain as Se Ri's mother. This is a testament to the great job the writers have done with her character. The writers are basically saying that not everything is black and white. We have to allow for the grey.
So maybe at the end of this, the theme will be forgiveness, peace and harmony for everyone- and we'll have a huge blended family 😮.
So we have 6 episodes remaining and 5 days remaining? If they cut the scenes with the “mop heads” out of the…
Wow- Lie after Lie is a bit similar and looks to be really intense. I should check it out- I wonder how it ends. I guess she will have to tell lie after lie to keep her identity a secret. That makes her a bit of a villainess.
So we have 6 episodes remaining and 5 days remaining? If they cut the scenes with the “mop heads” out of the…
They have not announced anything yet. It might just carry over into the following week and end on Monday. Then First Man can start tbe following week on Monday, 22 December. I hope we get the full 125. Re-editing now will lead to some scenes just not making any sense.
GC seems to believe it because she was in shock. She didn't believe it at first then looked at the pictures.
Secret is also known as Secret Love. It's not Lie after Lie. Secret was bittersweet for me because while she started a new life and found love with the male lead, she still gave up her baby. The kid was about 3 and I think he could have adjusted. She stayed with him for 1.5 years in prison so he knew her then forgot her. It was sad for the adoptive parents too because they struggled to find a child to adopt and the aunt basically handed the kid over to them. I don't think an adoption agency was involved.
Another show- Come! Jang Bo Ri- the evil female lead gave birth to her boyfriend's baby and didn't tell him he had a child. She dumped the baby with her mother and her younger adoptive sister raised the child as her own. When the child was seven, her dad found out about her and eventually informed her adoptive Mom. But the Mother feared losing her child so much that they never told the child who he was. But he was allowed to spend minimal time with her. In the end, he opted to leave his child with the adoptive Mom and new husband so that he wouldn't interfere with her life. When he said goodbye to his child, she was heartbroken because she had figured out that he was her Dad. She didn't tell anyone that she knew because she didn't want to make her Mom sad. So she kept it to herself. I really thought it was wrong of the writers to burden a child like that and they could have found a way for her biological Dad and adoptive Mom to co-parent.
That was unexpected- Lucia told Kyung Chae about Mi So and even took her to the colambarium. Ended with Kyung Chae in shock. How does the show always manage to leave us with the biggest cliff hangers before the weekend, in spite of all the programming interruptions? Great planning 🤣🤣. No preview so we have to wait for Monday.
I did not think Kyung Chae would find out now because of the impact the news will have on her. So I wonder what she will be doing for the remaining six episodes. Are they planning a redemption arc for her?
It is an incrediblly hard and painful situation for both mothers. The writers have to find a way for both of them to be in Se Ri's life. There has to be some common ground. It would be unfair to force Se Ri to choose. She can have two moms. Or in a very unlikely scenario, but one I have once seen in the kdrama, Secret, Lucia might opt not to tell Se Ri the truth about being her biological Mom. But in Secret, the Mom left her child because he was a toddler and did not want to disrupt his new life with his adoptive parents. She gave birth to him in prison, while serving time for a crime her boyfriend committed. Her aunt was given the baby and the aunt gave up the baby for adoption, without informing her. She only found out when she was released from prison. She looked for him and found him- even filed for custody. But when she saw how happy and well-adjusted he was, she decided to sacrifice her happiness for his, and let him go. But in this show, Se Ri is an adult so she can handle the truth.
Both Lucia and Kyung Chae found Se Ri in the warehouse- Lucia carried her out of the fire and Kyung Chae drove them to the hospital.
I also thought Seon Jae and Kyung Chae would have made a great couple. In spite of everything, Seon Jae has always…
That is not a redemption arc- it is just him deviating from his norm. A redemption arc is one where a negative or immoral character slowly transforms to become a better person. That is what has happened with Se Ri- she has undergone a redemption arc over the past four years.
Well I say ep 118 is a brilliant way to end it. The only way to bring everyone together was via Se Ri. The script…
I also thought Seon Jae and Kyung Chae would have made a great couple. In spite of everything, Seon Jae has always been by Kyung Chae's side and the one she turns to for help when she is desperate. But that will fall away the moment Lucia's identity is revealed as well as their past. If only she had listened to him in the past when he advised her to let the Mi So issue go. Mi So would still be alive😪.
Seon Jae has great chemistry with both female leads.
I also think he has been quite useful throughout the show with the way he provides information. The plot might not have progressed without the information he provides and he seems to have a skill in getting anyone to tell him things- friend or foe🤣. He didn't have to tell Lucia about the kidnapping but he did. BUT this is the first he is helping for unselfish reasons- which is nice to see.
Exactly — Ji Seop calling out Seon Jae for corruption is the pot calling the kettle black. Both men are stained,…
Indeed.
I also laughed at the Chairman saying that Se Ri managed to get herself kidnapped🤣🤣🤣🤣. One does not manage to get themselves kidnapped 🤣🤣. He never takes responsibility for anything🤦♀️.
Yes, the kidnappers acting on their own makes the most sense — revenge against the Chairman ties directly back…
💯 indeed.
The fire breaking out at Se Ri's location is interesting. I wonder if Seon Jae might have a traumatic past relating to fire and that could be a trigger. Maybe he lost a parent in a fire? But I guess that is far-fetched. The fire might just be to add some kind of risk to Se Ri's rescue.
So to Ja Kyung, the fact that Se Ri is Kyung Chae's daughter is far more pressing than the fact that Se Ri has been kidnapped?🤣🤣🤣🤣
Since when was Lucia's goal to fix the rich, dysfunctional family? There are many similar families- can’t fix them all. The initial goals of the revenge were to take the company and deal with Kyung Chae- I guess the goals expanded.
The funniest exchange in this episode: Ji Seop: "Weren't you fired from being a prosecutor because of corruption?" Seon Jae: "Did you really just say that?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
I did love Seon Jae's repeated assertions that he will live life his own way and by his own rules. And his honesty with Lucia that he cannot drum up fatherly feelings that he does not have. I do love such honesty from people- what they say can be hurtful but at least you know where they stand. Hopefully, Se Ri will not need blood or an organ because she will not be getting anything from Seon Jae any time soon 🤣🤣🤣. I really think he was really cool in this episode and over the last few episodes, we have been seeing a much more calm and reserved Seon Jae. He is usually quite erratic, emotional and prone to outbursts. That is where Se Ri gets it from- she is very much like her biological father.
Stella even complimented Seon Jae's brilliant mind in this episode. She is the last person I would expect to say anything nice about him. That was an interesting addition from the writers.
Someone who looked hot in this episode is Tae Gyeong- the dark clothes plus the bruises on his face make for some great eye candy🥰🤩😍😂.
So who will save Se Ri?🤔. All four parents will be there. And will the kidnappers be found?
I love his consistency too 😂. He does not try to be something he's not. What you see is what you get. A show…
He is really cool in this episode- I like when he was standing in that room alone while thinking and waiting for the GPS co-ordinates. Stella was even awed by his brilliant mind 😂. He is the calm, cool and collected person in this scenario.
I love it how sj didn't budge even after hearing the kidnap. I like consistent characters like him. Been missing…
I love his consistency too 😂. He does not try to be something he's not. What you see is what you get. A show focused on him would be so much fun 😂😂. Should we call it, "The Hound"? 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Such characters make for far more compelling stories because there is always room for them to surprise us.
Yes, the kidnappers acting on their own makes the most sense — revenge against the Chairman ties directly back…
Yes- the prodigal son is not a perfect example but what I mean is that Seon Jae needs to encounter something that will make him want him to change. Just like how being poor and wanting to eat the pig's food made the prodigal son want to make a change. Short of that, he will remain as he is.
And we have seen instances of a softened heart- like when he grieved for Mi So for a day or during his birthday when he was reminiscing about himself and Lucia. So it would not be farfetched.

I really hope he does turn his life around but he believes he is in far too deep to be saved.

Manager Gong slapped Kyung Chae🤣🤣. So unexpected.
Last episode for the week.
