Are those relationships he would still be willing to maintain or entertain? At least he had only been dealing with her before the first rejection, and he basically cut ties with her. Now with more people involved, the impact would be greater.

Jang Soo must have made quite the impression on her to make her want to marry him, and he must have been the man of her dreams. And because she married at that age, she must have had a lot of plans for their future- she even asked her boss if he would give her maternity leave. But those plans were quickly ruined when he died. So she is not just mourning him but their plans for the future too. After his funeral, she had to fight off her mother who was trying to get her to move out of her marital home to start afresh. Then her brothers-in-law wanted to dissolve the brewery- she had to fight them on this. Then she had to learn how to make makgeolli, then her brothers-in-law had their own personal struggles, then her Mom forced her to go on blind dates, then she had to fight Silla Brewery. So she has had no time to even begin to process her grief. Adding to all this is the Chairman who has his own demands and expects her to quickly move on from the man of her dreams and love of her life. He is not being fair to her, and he seems to treat grief like an inconvenience. I still don’t understand what he meant when he said he will fix her problems so she can choose him. He never even asked what Kwang Sook thinks or feels- it was all about the Chairman and how he's like a teenager in love. That is a strange thing to do to someone you just met. I don't even think the Chairman told him that she is a recent widow, otherwise he would have asked how she is holding up. I am so glad that Bom doesn't know yet. otherwise, she would be showing up at the brewery, nagging her.
The way the Chairman spoke about getting close to the brothers felt like a to do list to get what he wants, yet they are actual people with real feelings, who have also lost their brother. It's like he's playing a chess game. I even felt so bad for Chun Soo when he overheard the Chairman on the phone- the way he said that half of her worries were about her brothers-in-law. It was even uncomfortable when Chun Soo told her to find someone to love. With how they tried to kick her out of the house at the beginning, Chun Soo might just tell his brothers not to bother her any more after she gets married, So she needs more time to work on her relationships with them so they can come to rely on her, even if she moves out. She needs them to know that they are not a burden to her and she chose to love them.
At this point, she will have to tell the Chairman to back off- the idea of him giving and her receiving is not fun any more.

At this point, all she really needs is for someone to sit down and listen to her and talk to her about her husband and her grief. Which is what he should have done from the beginning. She can’t do that with her Mom because her Mom is busy trying to marry her off, and she can’t talk to her brothers-in-law because they are also grieving. The Chairman should have been her friend and used his experience with grief to help her through her own and over time, build a romantic relationship. He has never even asked her about her husband, yet he is so comfortable walking into his house🤦🏽♀️.

She is uncomfortable and cannot tell him because she is afraid of upsetting him, especially after what happened the last time. She also does not want to come off as ungrateful when he is being so nice to her and helping her. I wonder if the writers will address this or just brush it aside? She was so free and comfortable when she was with Jang Soo. It will take some time for her to feel that kind of freedom and comfort with the Chairman. Even if she were to tell him that she was not comfortable with his brand of ‘assistance’, would he actually listen?

Her brothers-in-law- while becoming a big brother to the Eagle brothers is a sweet proposition, Kwang Sook is still working hard to solidify her relationship with them so they can become actual siblings. A part of this is actually going through life with them, helping them with their struggles, and celebrating their victories. The Chairman coming in to take over that for her would rob her of those experiences, especially since is has only been a few months since Jang Soo died. He should really just become a friend to the brothers, and leave everything else to her.
3. Chairman’s friend- Why did the writers have his friend talk to Kwang Sook and only add more pressure on her? I think that was really unnecessary and uncalled for. Kwang Sook did not deny that she has feelings for him, and she is actually inching towards him, slowly🐌 . She is grieving and just needs time- unfortunately she is going through her grief a little too slowly for the Chairman’s liking. The Chairman needs a friend who can advise him to slow down, be patient, and actually listen to Kwang Sook.
4. Car accident- this was also really unnecessary- this trope is usually used to when someone has been rejected and the person who has rejected them is adamant about not dating them. That is why it worked so well in Five Children- the FL had dumped the ML because she felt their relationship would have so many challenges and she changed her mind after he got into an accident. In this case, Kwang Sook is grieving, and it has only been a few months since her husband died. She is slowly falling for the Chairman but really needs time to heal. So I found this trope used here to be quite unsavoury and manipulative for the FL. I wonder why the writers are in such a rush to get her through her grief (by manipulating her). OR is this supposed to be a learning curve for the Chairman?- to teach him to be patient and how to not do anything? Will Kwang Sook keep her frustrations bottled up until she one day has an outburst at him and he finally listens?
Grief is really such a sensitive subject and I hope the writers will handle it well and will not just rush through it for the sake of a story.
