Title Desperate Mrs. Seonju Spoiler
today’s episode just proved how good the two Main leads are for each other. i love how they felt awkward then…
That was a very nice and mature conversation that the main leads had and I like the analogy the ML used of them being like train tracks, running parallel to each other, and one glitch...…

So Woo gets the best lines- when he said- "we live under the same roof, what wouldn't we do?"🤣🤣🤣

Sang A knows So Woo is a much better catch than Nam Jin so she will not let him go. I don't even think she loves Nam Jin- it was just lust then trying to ruin Seon Ju. Nam Jin will soon learn that her hatred for Seon Ju far outweighs any feelings she has for him. I doubt they will get married, unless he blackmails her into it. Maybe he will find out about her parentage and blackmail her. I don't like his mother but she is right- without a divorce, he and Sang A are still having an affair.
When the Chairman called Nam Jin into his office and Nam Jin asked him to keep an open mind about him and Sang A- I really wanted the Chairman to tell him that she is weighing her options between the two men😂.
Lastly, why on earth do Sang A and her Mom believe that So Woo would ever want her back?🤦🏾‍♀️

Dare I say I'm starting to enjoy this drama that drove me crazy in the beginning? 😂 I think it's because even…
It has been quite enjoyable- there are wins and losses on both sides- I really enjoy watching Sang A lose.
Am also not convinced that FL is the switched baby- I still think it might be the ML. If FL really looked like the first wife, wouldn't the Chairman have at least noted that when he first met her? And Sang A's Mom too? Maybe the FL seeing the picture in the locket and the dream are just plot devices to make the ML aware of the locket so he can look into the picture.
And maybe the dream was the first wife asking FL to seek justice for her and her child🤷🏾‍♀️.
It will be interesting.

The irony of Sang A gloating about the new major international contract is that she is making money for the true heir- that will hurt 🤣🤣🤣

Title Iron Family Spoiler
I enjoyed the show for the most part- ultimately it was about Gang Ju and family. They should have called it Gang…
Ji Yeon is my absolute favourite character. She is not without her flaws but she is such an adorable and loveable character. She really loved her son and I liked how she could love him and hate him at the same time. Like when she was mad at him, she still packed a suitcase of his winter clothes to give to him. I cried with her as her heart broke when she realised that her son had betrayed her. When she said a few episodes earlier that she had a feeling that her son would betray her- I don’t think she nor I could have imagined that it would be a betrayal of that magnitude. He put a stake in her heart and twisted it. He not only stole from her, but lied several times and gaslit her.

I am especially glad that they dedicated episode 35 to Gang Ju earning back his mother’s forgiveness. It was so fun and cute to watch that he even thawed my heart. I had no choice but to forgive him too. I had really missed their relationship and so it was nice to see. Thank you, writers, for this- it was one of the best episodes of the show. It’s like Gang Ju had an epiphany after he got himself arrested. In the car, he told his Dad that he was thinking much more clearly than ever. Maybe confessing his crimes made him realise just how badly he had hurt his mother. This, combined with Da Rim telling him that she did not want to stand in the way of their relationship, must have made him realise that he needed to make things right. Da Rim comes from a big family, so she could never be happy with him if he was estranged from his family. Confessing to the police also freed him from all the fear and anxiety of being caught.

The re-bonding of mother and son was so good that I missed the signs that it was foreshadowing for something terrible happening to Gang Ju ☹.

Ji Yeon and Gang Ju have amazing mother-son chemistry. They play off each other so well and you can tell just how much the actors enjoyed working together. And including Seung Don, they had fantastic chemistry as a family.

I am so happy that Ji Yeon got her money back. It was something her Dad left to her. Fifteen years is a long time to wait to spend it.

Gang Ju- I was rooting for him in the beginning, rooted for him even less after he buried the money then returned it under the mattress, and he completely lost me after the betrayal. I really did not think I could forgive him. He messed up and he should have done things differently. I hope, in the end, that he learnt that secrets have a way of coming out and you cannot fix every problem. If he had not returned the money the first time, maybe the police would have had nothing to investigate. If he had given the money to his Mom like he intended, maybe the whole family might not have been arrested and just Bong Hui. Either path still led to the arrest but the path he chose had so much more pain and anguish, especially for him, his mother, Bong Hui and Mu Rim. He thought keeping Bong Hui out of a physical prison would help her and her family. But what he did not take into account was the human conscience. Bong Hui felt so much guilt and running away was not helping her. The actress did such a great job of illustrating the character’s inner turmoil and this could have only ended when she owned up to her crimes and faced the legal ramifications. In a sense, the police chief helped to free her. I am so glad the police chief never gave up and arrested everyone. Bong Hui even thanked her for arresting them, which was a nice touch.

Bong Hui could never be happy knowing that her children quit their jobs to help save her and the fact that Mu Rim’s integrity was now compromised because of her. That guilt would have gnawed at her for life. Gang Ju volunteering to arrested too was just dumb. Did he really think that his arrest would lead to them being released?

Bong Hui- I only sympathized with her in the beginning because she had lived a difficult life. But after she, and the grandparents, forged a wedding account book and used the names of their dead friends; blamed Gang Ju for burning the money; and she started telling people that she had enough money to marry off Da Rim- I no longer liked her. I really just wanted her to get caught. Then she burnt evidence- not just once, but twice. I think the gravity of what she did only hit her when Mu Rim handcuffed her and he cried in front of her. She was never at peace and I liked how she admitted that she was at peace in jail. She also got to rest in jail- from working and taking care of everyone.

The Grandparents- they were a sweet and loveable couple. However, they stole the money (3 million) before even knowing about Da Rim’s surgery. Everyone just assumed they took all the money for her surgery- yes, this was Bong Hui’s motivation- but what of the grandparents? No one ever asked them why they took the money- they were just riding off the surgery excuse. Da Rim felt guilty about the money but she was not the sole motivation, otherwise, they would have just taken 800 000. They should have at least told her that and freed her from any guilt.

I can’t believe they actually went to jail. I was so pleasantly surprised and kudos to the writers for this 👍. Because at the end of the day, even if Da Rim did not need surgery, they still would have taken the money. I am glad the grandparents survived jail, though.

Da Rim (and her tears)- she started off as a solid FL but after Gang Ju moved in and she quit her job, she became more of a supporting character to the ML. The Money had a bigger role than Da Rim. If anything, the show was about Gang Ju. For me, Da Rim reclaimed her FL title in ep 35 when she decided not to get back together with Gang Ju and she said she would not stand in between him and his mother. I really respected her in that moment and I was really proud of her.

I was not a fan of the romance because I felt that it changed Gang Ju and not in a good way. He was not a better character- if anything he became even more needy and started stealing and lying. He only stood up to his Dad once and in the next episode, he was crawling back to him. I wanted his Dad to earn back his love and respect.

Seung Don- The show did such a disservice to Seung Don, who was also one of my favourite characters. There was no character growth for him. I wanted him to change a bit. He was cruel to Gang Ju and I wanted him to grovel a bit. I am glad that Ji Yeon reminded him how he did not treat Gang Ju like a son. But even in that moment, there was no regret in his eyes- which is strange because the actor has been so good at expressing complex emotions. And he never apologized to anyone. He also believed that the divorce happened because of the lies that were told but, no- it happened because of how he treated Gang Ju. After Gang Ju woke up, he should have sat down with Ji Yeon and Gang Ju and sincerely apologized to them, and asked them to try being a family again. Ideally, he should have grovelled a bit, the same way Gang Ju grovelled to earn his Mom’s forgiveness. Ji Yeon and Seung Don could have bonded again while taking care of Gang Ju in the hospital- this was another missed opportunity. Seung Don deserved so much better- he just became a side character in the end, which is sad because he is such a complex character and had such a presence in the beginning.

We didn’t even get to see how the dynamics between Seung Don and Gang Ju changed at home, now that he has finally acknowledged him as his son.

So was Tae Woong’s Mom right? Seung Don and Tae Woong were both lonely because they were not in each other’s lives? Seung Don was lonely for a son he never even knew existed for over 30 years? So his wife and son were not enough for him? I think Seung Don’s issues were much deeper but the writer did not delve into them- he had a lot of unforgiveness towards Tae Woong’s Mom, and that was not resolved even in her passing. Full circle and growth for Seung Don would have been healing and reuniting with Ji Yeon and Gang Ju. I was really hoping for a family photo of Ji Yeon, Seung Don, Gang Ju and Tae Woong, to replace the one that broke earlier in the show. This time, Seung Don and Gang Ju would have willingly posed for the photo instead of Ji Yeon trying to capture a suitable moment during a golf game.

Tae Woong- such a missed opportunity with this character, especially because he is the SML. Maybe if he had formed a brotherly bond with Gang Ju earlier, Gang Ju might have made better decisions. I was not a fan of the Tae Woong- Cha Rim relationship- it was not well developed and they did not have much chemistry. It also seemed like he was really done with her after the blind date. When he tried to set up his Dad with Bong Hui, I assumed that it meant that he was giving up Cha Rim. That was so weird- what son would want his Dad to date the mother of the girl he is in love with? Or was that a plot device to give Bong Hui someone to talk to?

The only good thing about the Tae Woong- Cha Rim relationship is that it saved us from a Seung Don-Bong Hui pairing. Seung Don and Bong Hui are now in-laws, and on top of that, the Lee family is essentially sending two daughters to the Ji family, and this is also really pushing the boundaries. So the parents can only be friends and in-laws. Bong Hui can witness her younger crush come to life through their kids. And if anything, this friendship showed that Bong Hui had no friends and this was incredibly sad.

Also, there is still unfinished business between Seung Don and Ji Yeon- they are not completely over each other, especially Seung Don. The reasons why I think he is still in love with Ji Yeon, even maybe unbeknownst to him, are:
1. He kept her face on the house;
2. He asked Tae Woong to let her stay;
3. He repeatedly refused to move out;
4. When Ji Yeon went to report her money missing, his first response was, “Honey”;
5. The writers gave us a scene where they slept in the same bed, and she kicked him, lol. That was motivation to move, if you ask me. But he never did- he opted to sleep on the couch, instead.

I don’t know why the writers gave us all these scenes if the goal was not a reunion. I guess there was not enough time to pursue this properly. And there was not enough time to introduce a new man for Bong Hui. So the writers decided to leave the three single- it would have been a bit sad if Bong Hui was the only single one.

Tae Woong could have been instrumental in helping his Dad realise that he was still in love with Ji Yeon. It would have been fitting given how he told his Dad about Bong Hui’s crush. Gang Ju and Tae Woong would have helped their Dad to win back Ji Yeon.

It would have been nice to see Seung Don, Ji Yeon and Gang Ju visit Ji Yeon’s Dad’s grave. The show started with Gang Ju and the lighter and after it was destroyed- he never mentioned his grandpa again.

Mu Rim- He was the least involved with the money but lost the most. He ended up being a far cry from the righteous detective we met in the beginning, who was determined to investigate the Chairman for embezzling funds. I am glad he was caught and fired from being a police officer.

Soo Ji- she was another victim in all this. She was torn and believed that her husband, Mu Rim, was a man of integrity, but proved to be otherwise. I don’t think they should have reunited because Mu Rim was not willing to fight for her. Also glad that a pregnancy did not reunite them.

I enjoyed the show for the most part- ultimately it was about Gang Ju and family. They should have called it Gang Ju, the Iron Family and the Money. I was into the romance in the beginning but the romance brought character regression in Gang Ju, so I stopped rooting for them.
There were a lot of hits and misses. Some things could have been done differently- there were a lot of missed opportunities and underused characters like Tae Woong. It seemed like the writers had a lot of stories to tell but not enough time to tell them…………………
The actors did a remarkable job with the script they were given. I was emotionally invested in this one. I will miss my favourite character, Ji Yeon.

This is definitely NOT A SHOW ABOUT CHARACTER GROWTH.

If Gang Ju had explained the situation to his mother right away, things wouldn't have gone this far. Even if he…
💯
It's Gang Ju's lies- His Mom trusted him completely and he used all the information she gave him against her- hoping she would just forgive him. He even stole from her i.e. the will. The lying was so out of character for him and it started with his relationship with Da Rim. This version of Gang Ju is not the same one we met in beginning- the one who shouted at his Mom for hiding the money. His character seems to have worsened with the relationship.
I don’t blame his Mom for her reaction- it is to be expected. Her son broke her heart and did something almost unforgivable. You are right- they made a fool out of her and Gang Ju was gaslighting her by denying things that were obvious.
Unfortunately, her father was right when he told her not to tell a soul about the money, including his grandson, whom he adored so much. I think if Gang Ju had known about the surgery and the money, he might have stolen the 800 000 from the safe and replaced it later.

And this makes Ji Seok more of a wild card and increases his potential to be a villain. While Seung Ho may not want to, he will have to protect his wife in order to protect Eun Chong.

This show really does not have a third couple that is easy-going and happy. The other shows usually do- but with 100 episodes- there is too much to do and not enough time.

Yeah- the romance will not end well for Ji Seok.
Dying would be too sad for Ha Na and their siblings and Eun Chong- they have lost so much already. Ji Seok has been driven by revenge for so long- it would be nice to see him let it all go in the end and discover who he is without it, and forgive and properly grieve for his parents.
While they will get together, I doubt they will be together in the end as this will depend on whether Se Young avoids engaging in any criminal activity until the end.

Yeah and the pictures that Ha Na and Ji Seok have of when they were kids. Once Myeong Ji or Se Yeong see them- it's over. Maybe this time, Myeong Ji won't be impulsive and actually play the long game by pretending to believe Yeo Jin while she investigates and comes up with a good plan to achieve her goals.

pregnancy is possible , but even without it they meant to be together
Yeah- I was hoping that he was playing her but he really loves her. This is such a tragic love story for Ji Seok. There is no way this ends well. He, and we,the audience, are yet find out the extremes Se Yeong will go to to keep what she believes is rightfully hers.
Ji Seok gets deceived easily- first by Se Yeong and now, Seung Ho- he doesn't look deeper, and he thinks he knows better than everyone else.
Also- when he fell for Se Yeong- did he know she was Yeo Jin's niece? Or did he find out after? Maybe she is his chess piece.

I seriously don't know how this scheme is going to work. But if we have to endure it I hope they pull it off for…
Yes- the plan is seriously flawed. Ha Na has a picture of her family on her desk of when they were younger. So does  Ji Seok- if Myeong Ji or Se Yeong see any of these pictures, then, the plan falls apart.

This plan is dangerous for Eun Chong too- right now Myeong Ji does not know who he really is. Because she knows Yu Jin is dead, she will start investigating her life and find out she had a child. Then Myeong Ji will shift her focus from harming Ha Na to harming Eun Chong and everyone else will be none the wiser. She might even collude with those who were after Yu Jin in the US.  Maybe they are the ones who killed Yu Jin before Myeong Ji's guy could and he just happened to witness it?

Jin Goo is wrong for participating. If Ha Na does end up seeking revenge, she may want to get revenge against him too, and rightfully so. She trusted him and he used that to his advantage. He deceived her. This also shows how little he cares for his fiancée- he is working against her goals.

It would be nice if Seong Ho could tell Ha Na the truth so she is equipped. Or will he move back home to protect her and Eun Chong?

At least Ha Na can now adopt Eun Chong- so she can take him when she leaves.
