My perspective on the Chairman and my hopes for him:
I like the Chairman. I don’t like some of his actions, though. He is such a complex character- this shows in how he can be serious and smile sometimes. Like when Gang Ju was drunk in the office after finding out about TU- the Chairman smiled at him and Gang Ju told him to stop smiling at him so endearingly. Or when he was crying in the car after his ex’s funeral. Or when he was concerned about Gang Ju sleeping in a cold room. Or the way he would rush to the hospital whenever Gang Ju was injured.
I don’t think he knows how to love or to express it, and this could stem from his past. He was struggling and BH had to help him financially so he could finish school. He also has a broken heart from his relationship with TU’s Mom and refuses to forgive her. He needs to forgive so he can heal and move on, and embrace the love he has for his wife and son (Gang Ju), and start to love TU. I also think he is scared of loving them because he doesn’t want his heart to be broken again, especially with the 'divorce'. The way he kicked Gang Ju out of his room was really mean and disappointing. Like, are there only three rooms in that house? Or maybe he is trying to make Gang Ju stop loving him so he can protect his own heart, in case he reciprocates, and Gang Ju ends up abandoning him. Twisted and extreme, yes, but plausible.
Gang Ju being fired- am not too upset about because Gang Ju did breach his contract. The Chairman was about to reinstate him before he lied to him about his Mom searching for the money. And now he is lying again to his own mother- she was right when she said she feels like her son will betray her😪 .
Hopefully, after JY moves back in (and tortures them a bit), the Chairman’s walls will start to break down, especially when he realises how much he actually missed her, and when he sees her interacting with TU and getting along with him. I want him and JY back together- they are really good together and they have great chemistry as a family, with Gang Ju. I hope she makes him work hard to get her back, though- maybe when she tries to leave again, he will have some kind of epiphany and fight for her and Gang Ju. Then maybe she can replace the picture of the three of them that fell and broke, with a picture of the four of them. Maybe it fell because it was incomplete- TU was missing.
It would be nice to have another wedding for the Chairman and JY in the end, instead of one for the main couple.
JY is the victim in all this- the money is her inheritance so I would like to see her get a very happy ending.
Side note: Have you noticed how the Chairman buttons and unbuttons his suit? He unbuttons it when he cannot control his emotions when he is angry- like when he was shouting at TU about posting the news about Gang Ju. Then at the house, when he was about to tell Gang Ju to move out of his room, he buttoned his suit like he was trying to control his emotions 🤔.
Well-said! It will be living hell for father & son this weekend!
I don't think they will be jailed. I mentioned below that they will suffer in other ways- it will come at the cost of their relationships- especially Da Rims's guilt over everything and it might cost her her romance since JY will likely be against it after the money reveal. And Mu Rim- if he covers- it might cost him his marriage and his job.
What if JY comes across the money somehow, and takes and keeps it without telling anyone? That would be hilarious.
I am so annoyed with Gang Ju- why did he return the money? He should have just left things as they were and watched how they played out. Like his father said, he is too soft for his own good. It's also funny how JY predicted that her son would betray her lol
Well-said! It will be living hell for father & son this weekend!
I hope you are right about Bong Hee. She has her own problems at home. Oh- I meant I hope she won't move in after she hears that JY has moved in- she might want to protect TU from JY.
I think your guess was right- I agreed with it at the time but then the divorce happened and I was not sure.
Yeah- the divorce papers- she took them with her and at the hotel, Gang Ju begged her not to submit them and she just ignored him. That was a sign.
I liked the idea of 36 episodes, at first, because it meant fewer filler episodes but now, maybe 40 would have been better.
It would be fun watching TU and Gang Ju fight for JY's attention. I wonder if they will have TU lift her up and run, the way Gang Ju does whenever she is about to cause trouble 😂. Gang Ju would lose his mind if that happened.
i agree ,, the number of episodes left are not to many for every cast member to get what he deserves ...
I also don't think they will go to jail but they will suffer in other ways- maybe seeing Da Rim's pain and guilt over everything, and this will impact her romance because Gang Ju's Mom will fight the relationship. Hopefully, Mu Rim won't end up getting a divorce or losing his job, or demoted, if he ends up covering for them.
Well-said! It will be living hell for father & son this weekend!
Yes- she will wreak havoc, that's for sure. I hope BH will not try to move in too to protect her precious TU. Does the house only have three rooms? But honestly, I think the firing and Gang Ju being kicked out of his room, and the 'divorce' (I don't think JY actually filed the paperwork which is why she can move back in so easily) are just plot devices to get the family (Chairman, JY, Gang Ju and TU) to live together. Someone was bound to move back in - I assumed it would be Gang Ju to protect his turf- but this way works better. The Chairman and TU also need some kind of buffer to help them to start communicating as father and son. JY is perfect for this. And BH did say that bonds are developed through living together and that is more important than blood. It will be chaotic in the beginning, but I think JY will start to like TU (and, hopefully, see him as a son) and this can be part of her character development. Hopefully TU and Gang Ju will not start fighting over Gang Ju's mother too lol- at least there are not enough episodes left for that😁.
My favourite character in the show is Gang Ju's mother.
Da Rim's family is just so disgusting. They got the viewers' sympathy at first but now they've just changed after…
The family seems to use poverty as an excuse to justify their behaviour. BH even said she had enough money to marry off Da Rim 🤦♂️. I no longer feel sorry for them- especially BH. And MY does not deserve Gi Dong. He is too good for her. She does not seem to learn from her mistakes- her son will be so disappointed.
😂 They make the bad people very bad and the good people ... just weak. After watching this I need to watch…
💯💯💯 Very true- The ML in MMH was a supporting character to the FL. Whenever she would get on the phone after an encounter with the SML or SFL, I thought she was talking to one of her girlfriends- only to realise it was the ML. That romance was bland. THE SML and SFL had better developed story lines. In PMR, the leads had their own separate and well developed storylines that converged- and that was achieved in just 12 episodes.
😂 They make the bad people very bad and the good people ... just weak. After watching this I need to watch…
I have to admit- I could not finish Marry My Husband. The ML was too much of a supporting character than a lead. Perfect Marriage Revenge is my favourite.
Thank you for watching on our behalf and keeping us posted. While I like that they revealed all the secrets in…
😂 I can't do it anymore. I seem to get disappointed every time. I am now watching one from 2005 called Be Strong Geum Soon. It's 163 episodes 😆 Am not hating it so far.
Same especially when she is also responsible to a certain extent for this bizzare behaviour of him. Writers totally…
Yes- she did not abandon him- even in that scene where she tied the scarf around his hand, she vowed to get him back. So we, the viewers, know that he was taken from her- but he only knows what his stepmom and grandma have told him. I was just looking at things from his perspective- in the episode where he finds out the truth about EJ and their Mom, he confronted grandma and she told him that he told his mom that she would take good care of him and she agreed to leave him in her care. While this does not excuse some of his behaviours- 'abandonment' + a lack of loving environment can really harden someone. And for all we know, he probably feels sorry for his stepmom because she was 'forced' to raise the 'mistress' ' child and could not have children of her own. She had to deal with the stigma of that- even though it was her own doing. And from the look of things, his Dad was not interested in being a parent. The writers should have left romance out of the entire show and maybe focussed on family and revenge. Maybe we will get a good romance from SJ's bestie and the owner of the gym. Since the writers seem determined to break up SJ and WJ, they should leave all the leads single because I just cannot see SJ and EJ together. At the end, EJ should just go overseas and study and explore the world. His entire life has been dedicated to his Mom and her needs- it would be good for him to go out into the world and figure out who he is when he is not his Mom's caretaker, and what he wants from life. His Mom, whom I am assuming will have her memories back, can focus on WJ and being a grandma- or maybe she will marry Mr Yong?? I had a weird theory at the beginning of the show- that SJ's Mom and EJ's Mom were sisters because they have the same surname- a stretch, I know.
I also enjoy reading all the comments here. It is my first time commenting- I just got so frustrated with show that I needed a place to discuss it (i.e. vent). So thank you 😁.
I too am disappointed with the writers. The romance between SJ and WJ is as hot as ice fishing in a bikini. I…
Thank you for watching on our behalf and keeping us posted. While I like that they revealed all the secrets in the first 40-50 episodes (the fast pace is what kept me hooked for a while + WJ 😍🥰), I think it might be working against the writers because what now? They still have over 70 episodes to go and need to come up with compelling storylines- which they are struggling to do. I actually checked if the screenwriters and directors were not the same ones who produced Woman in a Veil. That show had so much promise but went sideways fast.
Same especially when she is also responsible to a certain extent for this bizzare behaviour of him. Writers totally…
Yeah and deep down there is also that young child who was left behind and is hurt and is not yet ready to accept everything and forgive. It does not help that she lost her memory so she can't explain. Remember when he told SJ that he did not want his daughter to end up like him? The thorn his stepmom planted in his heart is very big and he wants better for his daughter. In the beginning, I thought he was a little aloof with Ha Min but as the episodes progressed, you could see that he really loves her but sometimes has trouble expressing it. That's because he did not receive much love growing up so he does not know how to show it.
You summed it up perfectly. Everything I wanted to say but didn't know how to. EJ upsets me so much with his sulking…
Very true- WJ was a victim as a child and now too. Am not saying it excuses some of his behaviours but his upbringing played a role in who he is. That's why it's so hard to watch what the writers are doing to his character. It would have been better if he was not related to EJ and was just a rich heir who was evil for the sake of being evil.
Ok. Hopefully the script will have improved by then. I am now looking forward to watching the new episode of My Sweet Mobster. Now, that, is a really good show.
