That's something that is very difficult for a lot of people to do (controlling emotions and not jumping to conclusions I mean).

This is a cultural thing....
My understanding is tootsie is a femme gay man who may or may not cross dress.

For Kathoey it seems to be transgender? And are seen as being a 3rd gender in Thailand. (Also known as a ladyboy)

Ultimately I think it boils down to having specific words to denote masculine/effeminate gay men based on where they view themselves on the spectrum.

Also, I do NOT know if it's considered to be 'polite' to use those terms if you are not a member of the 'community'. For example, before being reclaimed the word 'queer' was very derogatory.

So maybe someone who knows can chime in on whether those are considered to be derogatory terms when said by those outside the community.

I barely recognized Up when he showed up (the actor playing Put). And yeah, I think he's there for drama.

To be clear I'm not saying that Up is in any way less attractive...just looked a little different from when he was in Lovely Writer. :)

Yeah, I believe that there is a writing problem in some of these parts. Honestly I could do with a bit less focus on the office environment, but I guess that's part of their story.

To be fair though, I've seen other non-BL Thai shows, the writing quality TENDS (not always) to be on the poorer side from a western viewpoint. This may simply be cultural differences or something 'lost in translation'.

I think that it is important to remember that for those of us who do NOT speak Thai, we are really at the mercy of whoever translates the series, if they are not able to communicate it completely and accurately then it will definitely impact our perception of the story, the acting, writing, etc... this is why I tend to be more lenient on shows that are not in my native language (English).

For those who are waiting on episode 4 part 1 to be subtitled, I just noticed that it has subs now on YouTube.

Yeah, some people never grow a thick skin to criticism. But he is fresh into the work force so he will have to learn to deal with it.

Pat doesn't know Jeng is gay/bi or not. Plus...it's his boss. So he's naturally very reluctant to start.

I think he's likable enough, but I do feel that there is a definite lack of background. If they added some more background he could become more (or less) of a character that we could sympathize with.
Maybe it will get added later...

I agree, but sometimes(often) in real life you don't make rational decisions when emotions are involved.
But yes, he's being VERY dumb given that he's trying to 'save' this department.

OK. I think this show is getting way too much hate for something that most of you aren't even paying for. (If you are watching from a subscription service like me then ignore that).

Is it perfect....absolutely not.
Is it watchable... yes.

There are some issues of consistency with the writing/direction of certain characters and the acting isn't perfect. But, most of these BL shows are low budget and they use cheaper actors who have either never acted before or have only done a little bit of work.

I see several of you bashing this guy Ben that plays 'Pat', but if you look at his history, he hasn't had any actual roles before. It shows a couple of credits for what look like variety shows as a 'guest' a few years ago and then this show. Given that situation I think he's doing 'OK'. It's only the 4th episode so far, so hopefully he keeps improving.

Yes...it's an office romance not university so that age gap is understandable.
It does seem like it is a very cute show (even though I've only seen the 2 first episodes so far).

It would be nice, but I doubt it for a couple of reasons....

Park Seo Ham who played Jang Jae Young went to do his mandatory military service and Park Jae Chan who played Chu Sang Woo said he wanted to focus more on his music (although that was right after it aired originally early last year, now it shows him taking another acting role this year).

Yeah, I think that it is that person's personal issue. The actors playing Burger and King may be a bit too young for me but they are still above the age of consent in Thailand.
And the ones that did the sex scenes are all over 19.
So I feel that a 'pedo' reference was not warranted at all, but it's their opinion...everyone has one...just like they have something else....

Yes, I think those reviews were posted by people who didn't actually watch the entire series, they seem to have focused on one part and simply assumed the entire series was about that.

Yes, the hate it was getting is really weird.
It's like they decided they didn't like it based on someone else's review/viewpoint and just stuck to that.
