Wow. That's such great achievement. I really liked One Litre Of Tears and it was very popular back then when it aired.

Hijiri mistakenly wrote "heisei 2018" which supposed to be "heisei 30" so basically the oath is not valid since…
Hehe. So true :)

How to vote? Is it just tick the love beside their name is it? No need to register one?
In most Japanese dramas and movies there is only one definite lead. In Chugakusei Nikki it is Arimura Kasumi, in Dairen Ai Toda Erika, in From Five to Nine Ishihara Satomi etc so the rest count as supporting. If you look at the ending credits the lead always appear first. In this case it is Kasumi's name and then the others'. Sometimes there are double leads too which they call W leads. It is not as common as single leads though.

Yes, I think it was Arimura Kasumi's mistake actually. Haha. Such cute mistake though.

Was she supposed to date it 5 years from 2018?
No, Hijiri should have written 30 instead of 2018 because the document was asking about the year of Heisei 平成.

(From wikipedia)
The Heisei period (Japanese: 平成時代Hepburn: Heisei jidai) is the current era in Japan. The Heisei period started on 8 January 1989, the day after the death of the Emperor Hirohito, when his son, Akihito, acceded to the throne as the 125th Emperor.

So 1989 is Heisei 1 which makes 2018 Heisei 30.

So what Hijiri wrote is 1988 years ahead of the current year. In other words, the document wouldn't be valid even if Akira's mother had sent it in to the lawyers. :p

Haha. I have read that except for the ending trending at Twitter when it aired. A lot of people commented that Hijiri (Kasumi) wrote the wrong date on the document. It should have been 平成 30 not 2018. :p

I see that too. But Taishi Nakagawa resembles Fukushi Sota too! Here, guess who's who https://pm1.narvii.com/6890/f41603dc7a3d58026fc9bf383b2db4db69ea3476r1-800-600v2_hq.jpg…
I have never thought Taishi resembles Sota but in that picture there's a slight resemblance. The one to the right is Sota and the one to the left is Taishi.

Title Meet Me after School Spoiler
Overall I'm satisfied with the ending although I wanted to see more of Hijiri and Akira as a couple. This ending is much better than the sad ending that everyone feared of though, that Akira would die and leave her behind. I like that despite how Hijiri and Akira would be unable to hide their feelings and get carried away by those intense emotions that at the end their best interest would always be each other's growth, happiness and wellbeing. They separated twice without knowing that they would find each other some day but they did what was best for each other. One of my favourite parts in the last episode was when they talked with each other through the phone (when Hijiri was on the ferriswheel). Akira finally stopped calling her sensei and they expressed how grateful they feel for having met each other. The part when she read his diary was touching too. From being happy for having her around him to the last entry when he wished that she will always smile (no matter where she is). It really showed how he had grown up over the years. I got teary-eyed together with Hijiri. The last scene was very beautiful. It mirrored the earlier scenes of them looking at the sunset, especially the very first time back in highschool when Hijiri started to notice him. Even though they didn't speak in that scene but their hug, smiles and Hijiri's laugh were enough to tell us how happy and relieved they felt at finally getting the approval of his mother to be together. A kiss would have been a perfect way to end it but the forehead to forehead pictures with Hijiri holding his cheek were sweet too. Good job to the director, scriptwriters and the cast for bringing us such beautiful drama! The cinematography was topnotch and the music was beautiful. Kasumi and Kenshi had really good chemistry and looked compatible together as well. Their acting touched me and I'll be looking forward to both of their productions from now on.

I'm having a withdrawal. I miss the drama and cast. Kasumi has a lot of dramas and movies that I can watch but I'm not sure I'm ready yet to see her as other characters than Hijiri. Kenshi got a really good debut. He would no doubt get a lot of job offers from now on. It is amazing how he got almost half a million followers on IG within two days. Kasumi has recently gotten 3 million followers too. Btw, does anyone think Kenshi resembles another Japanese actor Fukushi Sota?

that hijiri laugh tho when they hugged
That laugh by Hijiri made my heart ache for her. How much she had to bear for these 8 years...and now she finally got the forgiveness and approval from Akira's mom to be together with him. Although Hijiri and Akira didn't exchange any words in the last scene but you could feel all their emotions through their hug and smiles.

Yes, Kasumi had a lot of cm deals even before this drama. If I remember correctly she had 13 this year landing her the 3rd spot on the list of female artists with the most cms. She lost out to Hirose Suzu who had 15 cms and Shirashi Mai who got 18 or more (I don't remember the exact amount). Aragaki Yui got the sixth place with 9 cms.

Title Kasane
I watched this movie when I was in Japan in October. It didn't have any subtitles but I could still get most of what was going on. Both of the female leads did an amazing job portraying the two characters, especially Tao. You could immediately tell when she was Nina/Kasane by the way she talked, moved etc. The dance/performance towards the end gave me goosebumps. She is not only a versatile actress but also a good dancer/performer. For me who haven't read the manga I think the movie was good. I'll definitely watch it again when it comes out with English subtitles.

I don't think it beats "We married as a job" but I think it is one of the more popular Jdramas lately in terms of how it has made noice in other countries other than Japan. It has also been a while ago since a drama has made a new actor shoot to fame. The previous one I can think of is Anikoma which made Katayose Ryota popular internationally and in Mainland.

I have been a silent reader here for a while but decided to reactivate my account to just express some of my thoughts.

I have actually heard about this drama since the first day it was announced that Arimura Kasumi will be in it. I knew the genre was sensitive and when many people guessed it was going to be a junior/trainee from Johnny's I could already foresee how much hate it will get. So when Okada Kenshi was cast as the male lead it felt more "safe" since he looks mature for his age while Kasumi looks younger than her age so appearance-wise people won't find it "uncomfortable".

When the first episode aired I happened to be in Japan so I was able to watch it live. Although I only understood about 10 % of what they said, the drama was still able to catch my attention due to its beautiful cinematography and music. The good chemistry between Kasumi and Kenshi was already there from the start. Kenshi's acting is very green but it coincidentally matched with how Akira is. As for Kasumi, it is my first time watching her in a main role. I have only seen her as supporting before. Although she still give me the-little-sister feeling appearance-wise, her acting, the way she speaks and moves have really matured and gives me a different feeling compared to before. When I was in Japan I saw her everywhere, on trains, subway, different boutiques, cinemas etc. I have always known she is the most popular actress of this new generation and after watching this drama and some of her interviews I now understand why.

I think this drama has been really good and consistent throughout so I'm hoping the last episode won't disappoint.

It has been a while since a Jdrama has been so popular domestically (in Japan), in Mainland, Taiwan and internationally. The last drama was "We married as a job" with Gakki in 2016, right? So I'm happy for the cast and production team. Apparently this production team is the same as "All for N" (N no tami ni) which is a good drama too.

In Tao's earlier projects she actually played those cold and smart roles quite often eg. in Suzuki Sensei, Limit and The Werewolf Game 2 - Beast Side and she did well in those roles so I think she will do a good job here as well.

Do I have watch the drama first inorder to get the movie?
I have heard that they will be showing the important parts from the drama at the beginning of the movie but I think it will help you get into the characters and the story more if you watch the drama as well. However, I'll recommend you to start watching the drama sometimes in November otherwise it will be a long wait for you till the movie will be out with subtitles.

Title Love, Timeless Spoiler
I know everyone likes Kai Jai, and the guys fighting over her..... but the unrequited love story is dragging a…
No, you are not the only one. I like Ruby too. I think her character has more layers than Kai Jia and Zhao Yu. She is the most pitiful character. No one seems to really understand her. The note she left Jun Ren together with the divorce paper Jun Ren immediately drew the conclusion that she was cursing him but if you type in 94 in the Taiwanese keyboard in your cellphone then 94 is Love. So I94U is "I Love You". So Ruby actually fell for him during the years that they were married. She commited suicide probably because she knew that he didn"t feel the same way.
