I would love to know the doctor's technique for changing faces and in such a short time! I love PXR...loved her in Goodbye My Princess. It's so hard to see her with some other male lead other than Chen Xing Xu since that couple was so ingrained in me from Goodbye My Princess. But I'm still in the beginning of this drama so I have a ways to go.
Hi. Can you tell me what the husbands reason was to marry ( how is he connected to the ex)? Thank you!
The contract husband Yoon Soo was the student that was originally awarded the trip to study abroad but due to some alleged influence by someone, Yoon Soo lost it and it was awarded to Chan Hee. That was why Chan Hee broke up with In Young because he wanted to concentrate on his studies abroad and didn't want any entanglements to hold him back from putting 100% effort into his studies. Yoon Soo knew that Chan Hee was in a relationship with In Young before so his revenge was to hook up with Chan Hee's ex to take her away from Chan Hee once Chan Hee came back from abroad. That was my take on it.
I starting watching this drama and then realized it's not completely aired yet on Viki so now I'm pausing it until it's complete - so far so good. But please...am I THE ONLY one that thinks the actor Lee San Jung who plays Cha Eun Sung looks so much like GOT7's Jinyoung?!! I started staring at his face and thinking "Wow...he reminds me of Jinyoung so much!"
I really enjoyed this drama. This was about losing the love of her life and finding a new one and not looking back. In Young suffered the ending of her 8 yr relationship with her boyfriend Chan Hee. Instead of staying with her, he broke off with her to pursue his dream of studying abroad. As told in flashbacks, it showed how the relationship began and ended with In Young's heart broken. When Chan Hee told her that he was more important than her when he dumped her, I could feel the pain In Young had in her heart. I can understand following your passion and ambition but to tell someone who you said you love was just so harsh. Also in flashbacks, you could see how the relationship was slowly deteriorating with how their closeness & communications started to falter. Thinking back you would conclude that Chan Hee was starting to feel the need to pursue his dream and didn't want his relationship with In Young to hold him back so he slowly began drawing away from In Young thus causing confusion in her mind & heart. I'm glad In Young moved on and found love with someone she didn't plan on falling in love with. And how In Young dealt Chan Hee coming back into her life and wanting her back. I'm glad she was strong enough to hold onto her convictions even though the old feelings with Chan Hee definitely tugged at her heart strings. I'm glad she was able to see a different kind of love with Yoon Soo who although had his ulterior motive for being with In Young, in the end also fell in love with In Young. The actress that plays In Young has the most expressive eyes that really show the emotions of being in a roller coaster called love. In the end, you did feel sorry for Chan Hee because he really regretted what he had done and you shed tears for both In Young, Chan Hee & Yoon Soo and In Young's decision. This was a really lovely story. Yes, it showed a lot of the relationship between In Young & Chan Hee in flashbacks but it was necessary to let you understand why In Young was in the place she was in her head & heart at the end which led to her making her decision as to which guy she wanted to be with. I completely agreed with her decision by the way.
I think I watched the same show you did ... so I am a little confused. lol Which plot holes did you notice? I…
Thanks for the detailed comment. I did enjoy it and it was an easy 12 eps to watch....unlike some of these 40+ ep dramas that seem to go on forever especially when done with fillers. As for this drama, I get that at the end, it was the union of "friends" which assisted in Doo Shim & Woo Soo in defeating the evil spirit. I just got so frustrated that Doo Shim seem so ineffective in dealing with the spirit. I do understand that her grandmother left her too soon without really teaching her how to combat the evil spirit. Doo Shim's mom was useless even though she is a shaman as a profession. I get really frustrated seeing how the school system seems to be the same theme in most Korean dramas - there's always bullying going on (especially with the richer ones being the bullies). I guess it's just so inconceivable for me that the parents would tolerate their kids being endangered in this school. And also seeing how it was tolerated when the lowest ranked students would end up being dead...not just 1 or 2 but several. The principal basically terrorized the teachers mainly the one male teacher who the principal punched out. I did like how Doo Shim stopped being a loner and accepted help & friendship from the others. I especially loved the the ghost Hyun Soo...I loved how it ended for him.
This started out promising but quickly became kind of pathetic with so many plot holes. How can a school get away with so many student deaths and not be investigated? Are the parents ok with their last ranked students "committing suicide" all the time? If there were even more than 1 death in school let alone 2, I would think the parents would start pulling their kids out as soon as possible. Next....the supposedly great shaman Ga Doo Shim is kind of useless. She repeats the chant that her grandmom taught her but it doesn't really seem to do anything to the evil spirit except get him angrier where she gets knocked around. I was waiting for her powers to come around but I'm on ep 10 and she's still proven to be useless. She can't protect any student let alone herself. And most of the time, she walks around like a long suffering mopey loner who is too stubborn to accept help until finally her love interest, Na Woo Soo pushes his way into her life. And what is Ga Doo Shim really trying to protect anyway? These students don't even seem worthy of protecting. The stupid student Lee Ae Kyung who teased Doo Shim when she first came to that school...who then turns around and asks what Doo Shim will do to protect her because apparently she is the last ranked student after the others were "killed" by the evil spirit. And this chick was ready to oft herself prior because she was resigned to the fact that she was the next crappy student. WTF? How about transfer to another school if you knew this was the outcome? And the self-sacrifices between Doo Shim and Woo Soo...ugh...I wouldn't sacrifice myself for any of these entitled rich students in that school. Their male teacher is also pathetic...constantly being knocked around and yelled at by the psycho principal. Why is everyone so weak in this school???!!! I'm just trying to finish up this drama with 2 more eps to go...not sure how they will resolve this evil spirit thing since it seems like they have no powers except to sacrifice themselves. Kind of disappointed with this storyline so far. I really was expecting the "great shaman" to be more of a "kick ass" female type like Buffy the vampire slayer. However...Ga Doo Shim has proven to be no Buffy the vampire slayer thus far.
My funny observation: The actress that plays Jin is 26 to the actor who plays Gil Yong who is 28. Nam Ji Hyun really does look older than her 26 yrs and Chae Jong Hae can definitely pass for a teenager. But knowing their real ages, it was always funny when Gil Yong would address Jin as "Noona"...lol
Agree, the final episode felt super rushed, especially towards the 2nd half of the last episode.
I just finished it last night and I agree! Too rushed...they tried to wrap things up on Ep. 8 in a nice tidy little basket. I needed more especially more punishment to Jin's cheating married boyfriend & Gil Yong's school bullies. Sometimes the dramas go on too long and then there are ones like this that are too short. Can't win....
I loved this! Although for this rare time I wished it was longer instead of the 12 eps. I finished this in 1 1/2 days. The whole story was fantastical with the main couple being thrown into different stories after they completed each mission. I didn't really understand the whole 3000 world spiritual premise but apparently Yan Sui is a human who gathers spiritual energy to keep the world together. Wan Wan his assistant is a book spirit who assists him and also can destroy the world when he's overcome by dark energy. Mu Xiaoru becomes Yan Sui's love interest when she is sucked into the world where she has to learn her mission and to get out of it, she needs to complete it. These two have so much chemistry together. I loved watching them in different stories and how they use their brains to figure out how to complete their individual missions. Even though it was only 12 eps, at the end it felt like they went through so much together and were so in love with each other that it gave them the impetus to always find their way back to one another. What a beautiful ending...it also made me cry for Xiaoru's loss. Even though I don't know how it happened at the end and how Yan Sui & Wan Wan accomplished what they did to get back, the reunion gave me such happiness. Wen Mo Yan as Mu Xiaoru & Sky Li as Yan Sui were terrific in their roles. I read someone said Sky Li's acting seem stiff but it worked for me. He had to endure all his missions by himself with help from Wan Wan but when he met his love in Xiaoru, you could see how much happier he was as a person. Wen Mo Yan was absolutely awesome in her role as Mu Xiaoru and so beautiful. I hope they make a Serendipity 2 with the same cast because then they can explain plot holes and of course go through more missions together! Loved loved loved this drama.
One more thing...I think the child actor that played Yuanqi was absolutely adorable. At first I wasn't that thrilled with him thinking he was just going to be an annoying bit player. But as the drama went along, his interactions with Tianqi, Shanggu, Bai Jue, Feng Ran & Zhi Yang were awesome. He was funny, mischievous, cute, bratty and affectionate! I really enjoyed all the scenes he was in especially with Tianqi who was the perfect substitute father! Did I mention how much I loved Tianqi too!
Couldn't agree with u more!!...Pleased to see someone on the same page as me. The noble idiocy is too much to…
I hear you! Many people's comments justified Bai Jue's sacrifice and how he was so harsh and cruel to Houchi/Shanggu. If he was going to sacrifice for Shanggu, then why give the memory bracelet to Yuanqi? Was that only for his eyes only? Because that didn't last long before Shanggu saw it and all her memories came back? Why keep the memories then if he didn't want to hurt her? It would just make her feel more guilt and regret for all the hate she felt towards him in not knowing he was doing it all for her. It didn't make any sense. Everytime he hurt her I was crushed for her. I knew he was being cruel for a reason but it didn't mean I had to like it and understand it and go along with it! Just like Shanggu said at the altar: why did he think he could make that decision alone without discussing it with her? :'(
Also didn't JingZhao assist her mom to poison Bai Jue for the grand triple True Gods assassination attempt. How's…
OMG! Right?!!!!!! Where was her punishment for trying to poison Bai Jue?!!! I swear...the heavenly people never get what's coming to them. I guess it's ok for WuHuan to kill so many people including her own clan without any remorse. I guess it's ok for Jingzhao to poison Bai Jue and then get no punishment! They never even touched on that poisoning incident. Jingzhao should have been banished to the mortal realm with no powers or sent to the nether realm to fend for herself. They really skimmed over that part of the drama with no explanations whatsoever! So many plotholes in this drama!
Although I liked this drama, the punishments for WuHuan & Jingzhao sucked! WuHuan should have spent her punishment alone in her misery rather than being able to have interactions with her family especially Jingzhao. This mother/daughter combo was pathetic! Jingzhao did not get what was coming to her for her arrogance and bitchy ways towards Houchi/Shanggu. Instead she was rewarded for her behavior by being at Bai Jue's side for 100 years! WTF was that? I really despised how she wormed her way into Bai Jue's life when he resurrected. I cannot forgive that even though I know it was Bai Jue's way of turning Shanggu away for her own good. I hate when men make that decision as a self-sacrifice for the women they love. I really hate that! And in the end, his sacrifice really felt like nothing since he came back just like all the other Gods. I can't forgive that the writer did not find a way to get Yuemi back! Everyone comes back but her?!!!! Why couldn't they have given Tianqi his happy ending? He was the one that loved Shanggu in the beginning and was ready to sacrifice himself for her. He was the one that was always there for Shanggu during her incarnations. He was the one that was there for Yuanqi as a father figure. He was the one there for Bai Jue and covering up his plan to sacrifice. Why couldn't they give Yuemi back for him? Why??? Trade the selfish Princess Jingzhao to bring back Yuemi! Although the main couple had a happy ending, it wasn't satisfying enough for me. There was no big show of power by Shanggu against the vile WuHuan who still denied her guilt and being wrong. Wu Huan killed so many people to stay on top and she didn't get what she deserved. MuGuang was just a pathetic ruler who chose to believe all the lame excuses WuHuan gave him. Even at the end he chose the coward way out so I can't forgive him. Zihang made a big mistake in leaving the kingdom to these two. Shanggu chose the wrong person to be her personal attendant. Too bad she was so softhearted in her choosing way back then. Then all the people that were killed because of WuHuang would still be alive. Bai Jue made Houchi/Shanggu suffer so much heartbreak and lost so much precious time with her & his son because of his self-sacrifice....which to me was just plain stupid. The ending left much to be desired. Yuanqi should have been there when his father came back! WTF?!!! And Yuemi....why?!!!! She needed to be back! Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really wish the actor Wang Yan Yang, who portrays the character Zhao Wo Huan, would have more main roles. He's…
I really liked him too. In certain angles he reminded me of the other actor Xiao Zhan. He really did a good job in his role as Zhao Wohuah - he transitioned from being this big doofy guy who took a liking to Jian Buzhi and then became such a loyal buddy to Jian and then eventually to being a great fighter due to the Li Brother manual that Jian gave him. He could be goofy, silly, funny, serious, loving and warrior like depending on the situation and scenes. I wouldn't mind seeing him in lead roles too.
OMG!! The ending! ARGHHHHHH!!!! We definitely need a Season 2 for explanations. Every mystery led to further mysteries in this drama and it didn't deviate from another mystery at the end! I want to know why Jian Buzhi came to be who he was after we found out his true identity. I need to know who the mysterious guy was at the end; I want to find out how Ye Xiao Xiao became Ye Xiao Xiao; I want to know if Zhan Shiqi escapes the death warrant from the 10 Killing Gate; I want to find out what happens with Zhao WuHuah and Mingyue (will she betray her father & the 10 Killing gate sect for Zhao; Will Sima Dang & Gong Que hook up.....etc! And especially with Jian Buzhi! Will he recover his memories? I need answers!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took me a long time to revisit this drama mainly due to pausing this and watching the ones I had really wanted to watch. But I knew I would go back to continuing this drama and I binged watched this in several days..especially the last day! It was simply amazing! I loved all the characters in this. So please....let's have Season 2 with the same actors playing the major characters back again!
Huh? Those essential skills (as per your description) are exactly Xiao Jinyu's traits.
Really? I haven't gotten to it yet. I put this on pause while I went back to the other dramas I was watching that I had been waiting for their new eps to air...lol. I'll return to this drama in the future!
Just finished watching this drama and the ending sucked! The bad guys deserved more severe punishment but it seem they just wanted to wrap this mess up with everyone being nice & forgiving! Yuck! I already wrote about this so I'm not going to repeat myself. My main take on this drama: RIO product placement was annoying throughout the drama! I can't count how many times the camera zoomed in on the stupid RIO logo to the point where it was more like a long commercial for this product. The product placements in this drama was the most annoying aspect of the show besides the rushed ending and the ready forgiveness for the bad guys.
