Are you sure you have watched his other dramas? Because you don't sound so. I would recommend some - Cambrian…
I loved them as a couple. I didn’t skip anything…what’s your issue? As I said, it’s my opinion. You have yours…what are you trying to prove anyway. That I didn’t see passion in the kisses? Wtf? What’s your level of passionate kisses? Do we need to define it as per what you think or what I think. Do I criticize how you perceive a kiss? This is the last time I’m responding to this. It’s how I see it. Why argue or debate about it. Cuz you think you are an expert in Neo Hou’s dramas. Are you trying to prove I’m wrong in my perception? Well it’s not happening. You can see whatever you want to see…I’ll interpret it the way I see through my own eyes. The end….
I thought she was the perfect choice for this role! They looked beautiful together and had chemistry.
To each his/her own. Majority feels she was perfect for the role as I do. You can’t go back and change the casting all because you don’t like someone or feel she’s not a natural beauty. Why are you so focused on her looks anyway. She was perfect for the role in looks & acting. And if you don’t like a drama solely because you don’t like someone in the role, then it’s your prerogative to just move on and find a drama that suits your requirements
Yu Qian Qian origins - for those interesting on this theme, this Insta blogger tries to explain it:https://www.instagram.com/p/DW0ERvAAevm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
Wow! I never even caught on that she may be a time traveler! That makes her character so much more interesting. I seen the alternate episode for this couple and can't get over Qi Min getting all nauseous whenever he looked at Qian Qian....I guess this means they aren't meant to be. They were such a great toxic couple in this drama!

I seen at least 7 of his dramas… I haven’t seen all of them as I watch other dramas that take up a lot of my time. It’s just my opinion from what I watched so far of his dramas…When I get the time, I most definitely will watch his other dramas.
Am I the only one that hated the pig demon and Dali. They were nothing but pain in the butts for Xiao Yao - always getting her into trouble that they started. Then we get a complete turnaround from Dali being so jealous of Xiao Yao and not giving two craps about XY when they were competing. I was really happy when she died. Everytime these two appeared on the screen, I would FF them. Anyway...I love Neo Hou - I think he is absolutely gorgeous in period dramas. But now it's like he plays the same roles all the time...he's always self-sacrificing...but I still love him. I'm not a big fan of Tan Song but I thought she was really cute and adorable in this drama. At first I wasn't sure of the pairing between her and Neo. Anyway...my gripes: Bing Zhu....Mr. Righteous demon slayer basically turned into the thing he hated the most: a demon. I don't understand how the 3 great demons were able to be killed by him & Pian Pian. I really loved the 3 great demons...they were adorably funny and silly...all three in love with Xiao Yao...they did them dirty - after being trapped for thousands of years they are released only to be killed so easily. I don't understand how Tan'er became so powerful as a demon slayer blade. Pian Pian's character escalated fast into an evil spirit...I hated the scenes with her after that. And the end....so if Xiao Yao can time travel...then can't she change what happened and bring everyone back? It was so confusing. The biggest gripe I have with Neo Hou are his love scenes: it's practically non-existent. I have never seen him in any dramas where his kisses are legitimately real. The lips barely touch...no passion...nothing. It was the same in this drama....not sure if it's in his contract for no passionate kisses. But it still doesn't stop me from watching him. :) Overall I give this drama a 7.5.
I was intrigued with the storyline that popped up on my Youtube. I paused my watch of Pursuit of Jade to see the 1st episode of this drama and I was hooked! I watched the complete drama in one night! The thing that struck me the most was how much the ML resembled another actor, Jeremy Xu! In certain looks and angles, he looked so much like a younger Xu. He was so intense and brutal in the 1st episode with the FL. Let me tell you about the FL...I loved, loved, loved her! I love strong female leads (even though it started out with her looking like a pushover with her taking the blame for what her boyfriend did). She gave crazy back and matched the same energy that the ML had. I loved that she wasn't gullible after the 1st scene with her crappy boyfriend and she had her own agenda - she already had the attitude that she loved herself and that women had to fight to attain their power. The ML started out rough with her (how many times he grabbed her by the neck) and she didn't back out. She was smart and tricky and....OMG.... just such a strong character. The villains got what they deserved. The only thing I don't get is how the ML's brother kept popping up even after we all thought he was killed by the FL. The 2FL ended up being pathetic - she really did love the ML and tried to start a new life in order to be with him but by the time she resurfaced, the ML was already smitten with the FL. And we come to understand why he was smitten...he was already in love with the person she was based on a journal that the 2FL had attained from the FL. This drama was such a great ride! The lead actor and actress were absolutely amazing in their roles. Get ready for one of the most sensuous love scenes between them (not typical of C-dramas). Trust me...it was hot!
Ugh....this was such a rage bait drama throughout...from start to finish. Initially, I seen a video clip of it on Youtube and of course, it sucked me in because I wanted to find out how it would finish. Needless to say, the FL kept her identity hidden as the richest heiress of a company while constantly being heaped with demeaning words about her status, etc. because they thought as a regular person, she wasn't worth much in their eyes. Instead of silencing her brutal insulters, she just quietly took in their words with a kind of look on her face like "they will find out". Even when it was obvious she wasn't this poor pathetic person they thought she was, all of these fools were waiting for the highly esteemed heiress - not knowing she was right there in the room with her. It was sooooooo annoying...the whole drama consisted of this: the jerks not knowing who she really was and the female lead not revealing who she was. I guess if she did, this drama would have ended in 10 minutes. The ending was abrupt..I wanted to see the male lead's grandmother realize what a big mistake she made and shown as a vile creature who put more importance in how rich you were as opposed to what kind of person you are. All the people around the male lead were vile! Some things didn't make sense at all. But that was to be expected in this rage bait drama. You can watch it and be comforted that it's not a long drama...but get ready to be mad as hell with the cast of characters in this story.
Omg….I watched all 8 episodes in one sitting! Li Yun Rui & Wang Ying Lu are too adorable! I love seeing Li Yun Rui in comedic scenes…he’s too endearing. This reminds me a little of Guardians of the Dafeng with the crazy family antics. Now I have to wait for more episodes to air! 😅😅
there will be dark and brooding Cheng Lei, don't worry. Starting from around ep 30 these were some of the best…
I actually enjoyed Cheng Lei being Jin an...I got to see his funny and silly side as an innocent confused boy. The parts where he was a little boy and then showed his adult side next to the boy and his confusion was so endearing. I'm so used to the brooding characters that he plays that it was refreshing seeing him pull off being funny and a bit innocent.
I'm still at the eps where the ML is Jin an and hasn't recovered his memories fully yet. I just wanted to say that Cheng Lei is absolutely adorable in this role. I first seen him in My Journey to You where he played the ruthless and cold character of Gong Shang Jue. Even as cold and ruthless that the character was in that drama, he was still soft-hearted at the end towards Shangguan Qian. In this drama, he displays a funny side of him which I find so cute and endearing. I can't wait to see him turn back into Prince Annan and I've already seen him as the supernatural killer, Xuan Yi Ke. There's something so mesmerizing about Cheng Lei...I paused watching "The Journey to Legend" to start this drama and I haven't been disappointed. One thing I really dislike is the whole supernatural theme of turning people into puppets - it's so played out. But I'll put up with it to watch this drama. I still don't understand how that much amount of amped up power doesn't kill an ordinary human being...Prince Annan's constant shifts in power with his heart ramping up is insane. What's also insane is how he turned into a child after absorbing the Linglong power. But the actor playing the boy was super adorable...so I will suspend reality as I often do in these type of dramas. :) Can't wait to continue watching....
OMG....this was one of the most romantic kissy dramas I have ever seen...and the kisses were real...not the usual awkward lips barely touching scenes that I usually see in Asian dramas. Arthur Chen & Wang Ying Lu really know how to convey their intimate moments without it looking fake or awkward. What can I say - like most of the consensus here: Eps 1 - 19 were amazing. When they had to fight he 8 palaces and the chief villain. The couple's relationship evolved slowly with distrust on Sima Jiao's part - he never met anyone that didn't want something from him - whether to kill him or get what he had to make them more powerful. She was like a pure fresh of air...from the modern world who only wanted to eat and be carefree....as if she was on vacation. She slowly worked herself into his heart and vice versa. Their love was so palpable and so real...their love story spanned so many lifetimes with their soul bond always able to find each other. The eps after 19 started to drag a bit....the amnesia trope was over done (sick of this) and I started to fast forward some of the eps because I was so sick of how the storyline was proceeding: the villain that wouldn't die easily and then had the audacity to pretend he was Ting Yan's stepfather in the mortal world (Qian Lu)....although I loved...loved him as the emperor in Love like the Galaxy; the annoying Feng Qi who caused so much trouble; the annoying other villain who took the body of poor orphan; the annoying little sister of Ruiling The ending felt rushed but I appreciated that they showed them reunited in modern times. I just wished they had a longer reunion episode. It was done really nicely too when they met up. Arthur Chen has the most beautiful face...it can show anger, pain, hurt, sadness, love, romance, dominance, softness, et...and what a beautiful smile whenever it appeared. Wang Ying Lu - I only know from "I am Nobody" and she was awesome in the 1st season (I haven't had a chance to see the 2nd season). She has the most expressive beautiful facial features that complement Arthur Chen's. I really loved these 2 together...so many loving moments and kisses! You will also find out what "dual cultivation" implies.... :D Overall it was a nice ride...I really needed an extra episode of them in the modern world! Also - when is Gao Han (the snake) going to get his own main character drama - this man is also so beautiful looking...he needs a main male lead ASAP!
Meguro Ren as Kiyoka was one of the hottest characters brought to life. He was stern yet so soft and gentle with Miyo. I couldn't keep my eyes off of him in the long blondish hair. I must have watched this movie multiple times...it's that good. I agree with some of the comments - it was way too short. I needed a Part 2. I ended up watching the anime version which was in 2 parts to see what I had missed in the live action version. It was a little different. I need more of the live action!
So, her so-called "Usuba family" neglected her her whole life, watching her being a servant, and the moment she…
Yeah...I didn't get that...even though Miyo's mom sealed her powers, they should have watched over her because she was an Usuba. They should have protected her with or without her powers.
But, but, who was the bad guy and why didn't they catch him?
At the end of the movie, you find out who the villain was...it was the emperor who died. He foreseen that if the Kudous (Kiyoka) pairs with a person (Miyo) with dream sight or "dream weaving" powers, it will signal the end of the royal family. So he wanted Kiyoka killed by the Grotesqueries that he unleashed.
