I was so pissed when those 2 adults confronted Yi Jin in his place demanding he take responsibility for what happened to the guy's family because of Yi Jin's father. I was like WTF? Leave him alone! What were they thinking Yi Jin could do? He's going through his own troubles and trying to get by in life and then get assaulted by these two guys! I hated the fact that Yi Jin was helpless to respond except to say he's sorry. Poor Yi Jin was taking the heat for what happened with his dad and that's so not fair! And this was the part where Hee Do came in and brought some laughter in Yi Jin's life...so something good came out of it and they bonded even further.
So I'm on Ep 4 right now and really loving this so far. It really reminds me a little like Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo with Nam Joo Hyuk as the ML again. The funny thing is that Kim Tae-ri is in reality older than Nam Joo but she does pull off being 18 in this drama and Nam Joo does look older than her...lol.. What I don't understand is why they had to get another actress to play Hee Do as an adult. Why couldn't they just use the same actress since she is already an adult?! I didn't like that. So will another actor play an older Yi Jin if we ever see him in the present time? This makes no sense at all.
You may not notice this at first, but as you see more closeup shots of the ML, you wish he had more expression…
I disagree - I thought he did a good job - he has that sexy hooded look and he was adorable as the besotted younger male lead. I loved the scenes between him and the female lead and it definitely made this drama watchable.
ding shui didn't pass her trial, qing chen did, she was also exiled, to never return so i dont see it
Agreed!! Qing Chen passed the trial to leave the mages and Yuan Ling entered to assist her. Ding Shui didn’t pass the trial and later they found out she used forbidden dark sorcery to stay alive and that’s a definite no no!
Of course there had to be that one spoiled, self-centered female character who can do nothing but cry, raise her…
Omg! Same! I couldn’t stand this bratty spoiled girl who thinks she’s in love with Yuan Ling. I blame 11th Prince Che for indulging her and spoiling her. I hate that he’s picked her to be attracted to because for the life of me I can’t see why! Her personality is not even cute…just seems so entitled & bratty. Too bad they get a story of their own which I will def not watch. I like 11th Prince but wished they gave him another love interest.
Of course, a star in the future. But next time use spoiler tag...
What are you talking about? Holy crap! I was just making an observation and you’re just continuing your debate. Why are you making this out to be more than it is. If you don’t like my observation then move on. This was just a simple obversation on my part and you’re making like I spoiled the story for you. Geez… let it go already. I guess ur the type that likes the last word.
Of course, a star in the future. But next time use spoiler tag...
No… I watched it already….both SSS & JOL. But I like to come to this site to check who’s who in the cast whenever I watch dramas. Sometimes when I like an actor or actress a lot, I’ll go and check out their other works that they have done in their profile descriptions and then go watch their other dramas.
If you want to know more historical context. I recommend reading the link below:https://thetalkingcupboard.com/2021/12/31/the-red-sleeve-history-her-story-and-their-love-story/
This has got to be one of the saddest & depressing dramas I’ve watched recently. Basically it sucked living in the royal palace as a woman especially if you were the court ladies for the royals. You had to live like a nun devoted to the Crown. The female lead tried to escape being stuck in a cage but in the end she gave in to being the King’s concubine and sharing him with others. Although she loved him, she was never completely happy and always yearned to be her own person. I have some questions though: Whatever happened to the bitchy Queen? After her last stunt in trying to get Deok Im in trouble, she kind of disappeared. Deok Im’s death happened so fast! Im guessing cuz she had a weak heart as implied when she said her birth mom also had a weak heart? Did Yi San have any children with his other wives? Yi SAN’s death also happened rapidly. I felt he died from a broken heart. What happened to Court lady Seo? I really loved Junho in this. How can you not fall in love with him. He’s so talented: singing, acting, handsome, funny! He’s the real deal. Im really not into historical palace dramas because the whole atmosphere at that time was so treacherous. There’s so much political backstabbing & manipulations going on to get to the top and to stay there. And god forbid if you fall in love. This drama was so bittersweet and even though there’s a “happy” ending, there wasn’t any in real life…just sadness & tragedy. I can’t say this was one of the best ones…at times it was moving slow and I often got so annoyed & frustrated by Deok Im’s silent suffering. Even at the end she wouldn’t tell Yi San that she loved him. He told her that he loved her & only her. I understood how upset he was feeling his love wasn’t reciprocated. He even did the only thing he could do and that was to let her go and suffered himself. 😭
Check Happiness out! You'll love it. And you'll hate almost everyone (that is what i think at least). Just started…
OMG...I watched Happiness because of Park Hyung Sik. But as I was watching it I started to really get annoyed with the female lead and it just got worse as I kept watching. The whole premise was stupid and the residents were so annoying.
Of course, a star in the future. But next time use spoiler tag...
I am in spoiler mode though. But it's still not considered spoiler since most people will check the cast to see which actor is playing who. I do that all the time because I see same actors in drama after drama and I like to know who's playing which character. And my comment was an observation. If you seen Joy of Life then knowing who is also in this drama will put a smile on your face.
I know some are not a fan of Zhao Kai, however I saw this video clip of the actor who plays him, singing the cover…
What a sad song...Zhao Kai could have gone either way: good or bad. He just got bad guidance from Eunuch Han who fueled his belief that he was robbed of a kingdom due to his birth status. Han was his father figure and mentor from childhood so it was ingrained in him so early to achieve greatness but through evil channels. I really had hopes for ZK to redeem himself at the end but his brainwashing was just too strong.
I just finished this drama and I loved it. I know the whole plot of the robot was far-fetched but you have to suspend reality when watching dramas like this. I loved loved loved the main couple of Kim Min Kyu and Jo Ji An. These 2 actors were simply great together. Yoo Seung Ho looks like Lee Min Ho in certain angles. He was amazing as the lonely, isolated Kim Min Kyu. Chae Soo Bin looks amazing in her long wig when playing the robot - she did such a great job being both the robot and human. The supporting cast was terrific too. I loved how they all grew together and became a family to Kim Min Kyu who lost his family when he was young. I loved KMK's butler who was like a father figure to KMK . I still didn't understand how KMK could live alone as a little kid after his parents died. Korea allows a minor to live on their own? I hated the misunderstands and angst between the main couple that lasted too long for my liking. And you know what stood out the most for me? The second female lead was actually a nice woman. I thought the appearance of Ye Ri El would be another one of those annoying, calculating and manipulating characters but she turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I'm glad she got what she wanted in the end and that Hwang Yoo Chul redeemed himself. The villains got what they deserved too!
Anyone noticed that the child actor (Finn Han) who plays the grandmaster Zhao Xuan Su in Sword Snow Stride is the child version of Fan Xian for Zhang Ruo Yuan in Joy of Life? I found that really amusing!
Whatever happened to the bitchy Queen? After her last stunt in trying to get Deok Im in trouble, she kind of disappeared.
Deok Im’s death happened so fast! Im guessing cuz she had a weak heart as implied when she said her birth mom also had a weak heart?
Did Yi San have any children with his other wives?
Yi SAN’s death also happened rapidly. I felt he died from a broken heart.
What happened to Court lady Seo?
