I'm on episode 17 and I must say Lu Ming is such a good friend. Too bad we don't get to see more of him.
He was also a good friend to JinMi in Ashes of Love - it's like he's reprising the same role here in Immortal Samsara. At first I almost didn't recognize him because it seems he put on some weight in his face (in a good way).
You can go directly to ep 9/15, in my own experience, i skipped directly to ep 15, got hooked, then watch earlier…
I took your advice and skipped to ep 7 and started binging on this last night. I really hate how the immortals can have no love and if they do, they get punished/killed for it. You separate two people who are in love for this crazy rule. I'm still waiting for that evil "Fairy" Ying Deng to get what she deserves but I feel like most dramas, these villains never truly get what should be coming to them. She is such pure jealous evil! I despise this character so much and the actress that plays her is so good in being this evil witch!
I suggest you take a long break & only ever revisit the drama when you are no longer comparing with Jinmi otherwise…
I did say I was taking a break and will revisit it when I have time. I did say this was one of the dramas I had looked forward to watching so I'm not going to give up on it. I just need to have more time & less distractions in my life to pay full attention to this drama. Thanks.
I'm still on ep 2 and can't seem to get motivated to keep watching. I find I'm easily distracted to other shows even though I was looking so forward to watching this drama. I think it's Yangzi's character, Yan Dan. I find her very annoying. I think its so similar to Ashes of Love where she is just very naive & gullible and self sacrificing (for her twin sister). Maybe it's just me but I feel Yangzi was so perfect in Ashes of Love and I feel that she is too old for this role in this drama. So I make the comparisons and I am left not feeling emotionally attached to her character. I know I should watch more to get a better take on her role as Yan Dan. I want to give it a chance but if I feel I'm struggling to keep watching it. I'm not going to give up on it so when I have some free time, I will revisit this drama and hope it gets better for me.
Xiao Lanhua is basically a baby born spirit, she only 1500 year compare to other immortals like DFCQ who is 30000…
Who’s insulting the actress? You seem to be under the opinion that if we don’t happen to agree with your opinion we are insulting the actress? Some people don’t like the babyish way she talks in this drama and believe it or not, if it’s off putting to listen to, some may leave the drama because of that. That’s called having a choice. Despite the way it grates on my nerves, I choose to continue watching it because I like the storyline line so far and Dylan Wang is doing an amazing job in his role as is Esther Yu. Despite some varying opinions regarding her tone of voice here, I do not find it insulting or downgrading her work at all which you seem to take a personal offense to. Please don’t tell me how I should think since it’s my own opinion as it is your own opinion. This is a public forum and I don’t attack anyone ….. just agreeing with others who feel the way I do about the way she talks in such a baby voice. I get that it’s how they want her to talk to express how pure & innocent she is. But not everyone and that includes me is able to tolerate listening to it when she talks in that voice. And that’s the last I will comment on this. I finished the drama by the way and I really liked it. The leads did an awesome job. The only thing I did wish was more time with the couple at the end… it felt so rushed like so many other endings of dramas.

Don’t worry! I’m with you on this! I hate her baby voice and it’s making me pause this drama many times to recover from listening to it. Just because other people have no problems with it doesn’t mean others don’t. But god forbid if you are not liking it and then get attacked. To each his/her own and it is your own personal opinion. Even though her voice grates on me in this drama I’m still watching it because of Dylan! 😄
I feel like I dont wanna watch the entire last 2 episode specially when I checked the last part of the last episode.…
I don’t blame you. I’m still feeling the effects of dissatisfaction from the last 2 eps…I keep thinking it could have been so much better considering how much we were so invested in the couple’s happiness. Are we asking too much? Honestly, I have no idea why so many good dramas end in such an average way. There’s such build up to the finale and then it comes up short and leaves me feeling “ I need more!” 😅
Just watch the last episode. Best character for me is the Empress and Consort Yue. Both of them and the Emperor…
The emperor: If he’s not present at the wedding it doesn’t count! The empress tired of him whining walks away from him and has the doors closed. And he yells: Even if you shut the doors, it doesn’t count! 😂😂😂 I really love this royal couple.
Was it just me that was let down by the last 2 eps? Some things just didn’t make sense:The scene where they were trapped down in the basement after General Hou /Ling Buyi fell in. Tell me why he couldn’t have overpowered Wang Yan Ji?!!!! It’s not like she had men guarding her. Instead they just watched as she lit the flames to ignite the fuel! That made absolutely no sense at all. Ling Buyi can fight a circle of armed men but he couldn’t overpower 1 woman?!!! Second.. he goes to save the Crown Prince and proceeds to let the villain talk for so , so, so long instead of just killing him and rushing back to Guo village to help fight there?!!!! Wtf?!!! I loved how SS’s family rode in like saviors to help Shaoshang but can anyone tell me how they knew to come help? I felt the ending was too rushed and everything was wrapped up too quickly. I needed more time with the reunited couple, a wedding, did He Zhao Jun have her baby, etc. I felt exactly like the Emperor…but why couldn’t he have ordered the couple to return to the palace to have the wedding? After all, he’s the ruler. I loved how he kept saying it doesn’t count! I did like the scene with the Grandmom & her aide talking & laughing at the end…I hated her in the beginning but she redeemed herself. I had so much satisfaction watching Lou Li get stabbed over & over again to end her life…she was such a horrible person through & through! Overall, I really loved this drama especially Leo Wu & Zhao Lusi and this is definitely a “watch again” one for me. Just wished the last 2 eps which I waited so impatiently for were better written or edited (maybe they had scenes taken out for the time restraint). I would definitely buy in full unedited form as a DVD. I’m really going to miss this couple. It didn’t feel like watching 56 eps. Adding: I really did appreciate that at the end Ling Buyi was surrounded by the Cheng family…even Yuan Zhen was part of that group. But the significance was more important for Ling Buyi because he missed out on being with a close knit family like the Cheng’s who came through when it counted the most! For me I always felt that he already had a loving family in the Emperor, Empress, Consort & even the 3rd Prince who turned out to be one of his besties… and let’s not forget his loyal subordinates Qi & Fei & his Black guard army. He just felt alone because of his 10 yr revenge focus.
Love between Fairy and Devil. Give it a try. The name put me off in the beginning but oh I was so wrong.
I have to agree. He’s so goood in this…especially when he switches into female role…it’s hilarious. It reminds me of his lead in Meteor Gardens…he’s a bad boy who falls for the good girl!
I watched the first 2 episodes and I loveeee Zhao Lusi's character but Leo Wu's character seems a bit dull and…
OMG....no...that's how Ling Buyi is...as a military general he has to come across as strict and no nonsense but his soldiers love him. Also he has had a 10 yrs revenge to investigate so he has no time to relax. The emperor even scolds him saying all he wants to do is go into battles instead of settling down with a wife and have kids. It's only when he starts coming across Shaosheng do you see him relaxing his coldness. If there is ever a love at first sight then it happened to Ling Buyi. The scene during the lantern festival when he looks down and spies her, that's when you see the little subtle softening in his face. Leo Wu did an amazing job in conveying his emotions! Wait until later episodes and you will see how incredible he is with his emotions.
At Ep 25.....Yuan Shen is the worst... What a pain..How in world does css can like him..
I'm at ep 54...I do like Yuan Shen though. He has been nothing but supportive to Shaosheng & even Ling Buyi. He just doesn't know how to express himself and instead always comes off as a know-it-all arrogant scholar. We all know he fell for Shaosheng but in his awkward way, he does the opposite of how he wants to present himself to SS and instead he antagonizes her. When you hear his backstory, it's more for us to pity him because he went about it the wrong way from the get-go in trying to capture SS's heart. When he gets rejected by SS time after time, he tries to laugh it off but you can see the pain of rejection in his face and eyes. Afterall, is he not human too? I feel he puts on a fake facade of arrogance to mask his true feelings to protect himself because he never knew what love was...just like SS.
Love between Fairy and Devil. Give it a try. The name put me off in the beginning but oh I was so wrong.
I'm watching it now but at times so put off by the Esther Yu's babylike girly voice. I know she's portraying a pure innocent fairy but sometimes it just gets too sugary to listen too...maybe I'm too jaded...lol...I love Dylan Wang in the "Devil" lead. I'm liking it so far!
Have tried moving on from LLTG. However:No one has the most intense but steamy death stare like ZishengNo one…
Yes...Leo Wu as Zisheng is definitely swoon worthy! When Zisheng locks his eyes & heart on his lady, she is the only for him. He is still so young but so good in his acting and he will just get better as he ages.
Honestly I was majorly disappointed with the end. Why do all these dramas start off so promising and then have such a crappy ending. So FLX gave up his rule to spend his last years with BFX in a remote mountain top house? What happened to his promise to his father that he would be a good ruler for his state after he was given the heir apparent title? And BFX gave up her rule too? The long awaited fight with YWY was way too short. They spent way too much time with the war scenes and why did they have to kill off Pu'er!!! Just like in the Long Ballad they killed off the little sidekick too....argh! I felt this was just to drag out an emotional crying scene. I really missed the bantering and flirting they had in the beginning of the drama that seem to have so much promise of a great drama. The ending with them drawing each other's brows was a waste even though I'm sure it was conveying how happy they were to be together doing mundane things. I'm just glad they were together though. I just wanted more and was left feeling a bit empty
