I remember a case like this here in the UK - husband and father of three kids found out he had Stage 4 cancer and half way through his chemo his wife found out she also had stage 4 cancer. They died with two days of each other. their oldest was around 15 I think, then about 12 and then 10. The wife's best friend (since primary school) and her husband adopted the kids as her friend wanted because they had no other family. It was heart-wrenching to read, but also restored your faith in people because the best friend already had 4 kids of her own.
Just watched the trailer and three HUGE red flags - controlling mother in law from hell, Mummy's Boy fiance, and Mummy's Boy fiance NOT putting you on the deed of the house you bought WITH him.....at that point I wouldn't have been waiting for the wedding to dashi run, run, run!
Currently watching it and loving it. But then Yamapi, Saito Takumi, and Shun Oguri are the triumvirate of excellence and I usually watch anything they're in because I've yet to be disappointed. :)
Thank you Trouble-chan for such a detailed feedback!Yes, I also picked up Star Trek: Discovery just because of…
Oh she'd definitely top Janeway no doubt - she's a lot more balanced and can be harsh, yet caring when different situations call for it. Janeway never mastered that. 2021, huh? Jeez, I hope I live that long!! ;D
I'll look forward to more articles from you and the same to you - you're writing is brilliant and I wish you well. :)
I LOVE this lady, she is a complete inspiration to me to keep fighting my bad health. She's also the main (and almost only) reason to watch Star Trek:Discovery. Her acting is NEVER off and she is always really engaging in roles AND interviews.
Her character in Discovery is NOT a straight up nasty villain like Lorca in Season 1 or Control/Leland in Season 2; she plays Georgiou with a lot of layers and just when you think you have her sussed, the character about faces, smirks and keeps you guessing all over again. She can play her as completely kick arse in one scene (her fighting skills are still breathtaking) and yet show a vulnerability (in her attachment to Burnham) in the next. her jealousy of Burnham's biological mother was both amusing and yet sad....Georgiou was seriously p*ss*d 'that woman' had come back! lol!
To hear she's about to have her own stand alone Star Trek is epic and it means I can drop the mess that's Discovery as Hugh, Stamets, Pike (my second favourite after Georgiou),Tyler and Tilly all seem to be gone or going and they're the only interesting characters that are left after Georgiou; and if she's getting a stand alone then she's also not going to hang around either.
I've seen all her work, mainly by crawling round old dvds in charity shops, bargain bins, secondhand dvd stores and the internet - as well as owning some of her more modern ones....my favourite will always be Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon just for the fight scenes if nothing else. But The Lady and Memoirs of a Geisha were also memorable and also dvds I own along with CT,HD. Sadly I haven't seen Crazy Rich Asians yet, but I'm planning on asking for the dvd for my birthday!
Thank you for this wonderful article that's clearly been brilliantly researched (I LOVE research so a good bit of researching always makes me smile!); clearly written by a first class fan - which is nice; your article shows a warm fondness and not just dry facts and figures. It was an incredibly interesting read - her injuries are still horrible to read about - and it's nice she crosses back and forth between East Asian roles and Hollywood ones. :)
It's Noh!! I will always love 'Lovesick'.......and this looksmlike it mkght be as good. The U prince series was a bit 'm'eh' with just a few exceptikns.
I think that's because it's a Chinese remake of the original South Korean story. :)
Agreed; i think the only other one I've watched recently that was the same was Pretty Li Hui Zhen which closely followed the story of She Was Pretty.......wasn't as good as the original though.
