I'm 60, British and a huge Kdrama fan, so I read a lot about him as I'd seen some of his projects. I grew up in an area where drugs were (and still is) a blight on so many lives, so it concerned me he might have been guilty. But this lad did nothing wrong, He was basically accused by people who loathed him for being himself & accused him of hurting others. It's been proven he did nothing wrong. I really would like this poor young man to be allowed to get his life back now. I also think his accusers should face charges.
From what I've read recently here in the UK, he has been proven innocent now. So I hope his career can restart and he can go back to working in dramas and movies again. It's disgusting what has been done to him.
Maybe more people learnt different languages and started subbing their (at that time) current favourites? Once…
Same. I still got bits and pieces in braincells my stroke didn't kill! LOL! At least we tried and I have some I can still remember from a lot of Asian languages now (I tried Mandarin too, that worked about as well as the Japanese and Korean, but I've still got the basics).
I will go check the page! Is it on one of the drama hosting sites?
The big problem was YUE QIN, If it was not for him Mei Lin would have never died. The happy ending is not a "what…
I'm glad if it was another lifetime. Then they were fated to meet and live a good, happy life together - at least once. They certainly suffered enough for that to be allowed them.
Okay, I love both actresses and I'm watching both dramas currently. I have to say though that 'Love Game in Eastern Fantasy' is streets ahead of 'The Story of Pearl Girl'. They're both good, don't get me wrong. The acting is wonderful in both. It's just....well, to be honest, Love Game is way more engaging and entertaining. I am so done with all the death dramas and tragedies right now. I've just finished 'Kill Me, Love Me' and there's too many like that around - sad endings for no good reason that just drive the viewer mad. People say "oh well, we have to understand that real life is full of tragedy and not everyone gets a disney ending!" But come on I just want to hug a pillow because a cute couple are being adorable and laughing because someone's an accident prone klutz (like me) and get AWAY from my problems for a while.....NOT join someone else in theirs.
So I think, given the world is STILL a dumpster fire that STILL run by morons, should have more dramas that are fun and entertaining, rather than soul destroyingly depressing. I'm clearly not alone and, to me at least, I think this is why the very cute (but also dramatic) Love Game is doing better than Pearl Girl.
I'm still confused as to whether Fu Chou was genuinely evil or just messed up by his life growing up and the palace (as the rest of them seemed to be)? I am alternating between feeling sorry for him to wanting to slap him. Does he have a bad end? Not sure whether to continue with this drama....🥺
The fine is a joke, but one year without parole is harsh. To imprision people will not help with their insomania....
or his mental health. I think it's more to do with other things around him, things they wanted to make an example of him for. I just hope he won't be like Lee Seon Kyun.......another victim (regardless of what led to his death).
Like someone mentioned it here already - it was ‘exemplary punishment'
Exactly - nothing to do with him, just the judiciary trying to make a point. The fact that he's sympathetic to the Korean LGBT community & is critical of the government has nothing to do with it either....right? Just as bad as the UK now (free speech is just dead)....I really feel for him he must feel completely alone.
8 episodes again... Definitely not a fan of that TV series format.
Sadly this is a western thing (I'm from the UK). It's ridiculous because as others have said here, there's no time to develop the story or the characters. It's why so many of our plots in our dramas are so fast, they have to be. So many get cancelled at the end of s1, even if it ends on a cliffhanger. Our tv so damn annoying. Sorry yours are being affected because of companies like Disney/Netflix/Amazon buying in.
For me it's more a shock that the guy seemed to be suffering from chronic insomnia & severe depression, was working…
I've blocked them. They're either as thick as porridge or just a sad little troll, either way not worth bothering with. I completely agree with you about insomnia, I've had it for years and it's not fun. I really feel for this poor guy.
For me it's more a shock that the guy seemed to be suffering from chronic insomnia & severe depression, was working…
Yeah, you're a troll, because no one is this deliberately obtuse. If you are just that obtuse, then I suggest you wait to pass judgement on the actual adults, flawed as we are, until you're an adult living in the real world. If you're just a troll; well, that's just sad.
For me it's more a shock that the guy seemed to be suffering from chronic insomnia & severe depression, was working…
Your replies are ridiculous and clearly you know NOTHING about the Asian entertainment industry. So many have KILLED THEMSELVES because of the demands of their management companies. Would you say the women in America who were raped by Weinstein & others 'asked for it' because they wanted a film role, despite being already famous? Of course not. Well Asian artists are the same. They don't ASK to be worked to death, either by their own hands or literal exhaustion.
I'm beginning to think you're just trolling people at this point, because you can't genuinely believe the steaming piles bullshit you're spouting. Either that, or you're a ridiculously spoilt teenager who hasn't even left school yet and knows nothing of the real world. Either way, you're spouting shit.
For me it's more a shock that the guy seemed to be suffering from chronic insomnia & severe depression, was working…
Holy God of Chocolate, are you genuinely serious? Just because he's rich and famous doesn't mean he's immune to depression. Also, as someone with chronic insomnia, chamomile tea, exercise and meditation doesn't work for everyone and certainly didn't for me. Depression and chronic insomnia isn't curable by living a 'simpler life'. There's no life simpler than mine. No one knows what's causing my insomnia, but I've had it for 30 years (i'm 59). It started out of the blue for no reason. That was that. All my other health problems have not affected it. Normal over the counter herbal sleep aids, even prescription sleeping pills (mild) don't work.
If his fans are 'fucked up' because HE has mental health problems, then they need to go outside and, as the youth of today say, 'touch grass'. That's ridiculous pressure to put on anyone - don't get sick in anyway because you're fans will be fucked up......
Remember many Asian idols & actors have DIED from SUICIDE or exhaustion. It's not an 'easy' life for them. They have their own problems to deal with; if they didn't, so many wouldn't DIE. Don't be so judgemental of someone just because they seem to have a 'better' life.
