This looks good but, being Chinese and a historical drama at that, it's bound to have a sad ending.....they usually do. So not sure if i'll bother, I'm just so done getting into really good Chinese dramas just for them to have pointless sad and/or open endings...... *sigh*

I LOVE the HiGH&LOW series of movies; the Red Rain was my favourite though mainly because Saito Takumi is my bias, but also because the of the story itself it was an intriguing film. But I'm intending to watch (and collect) them all.
The motorbikes in Red Rain, S.W.O.R.D. and Mugen also make me salivate - NO cafe racers and plastic bikes here, these are all proper motorbikes that are genuinely as mean, loud and fast as they look.

What about the spinning camera? Used a lot in Chinese dramas, but now creeping into Kdramas too - I literally got motion sickness watching Pretty Li Hui Zhen.....i mean why? The extras - I love it when they have to go round again.....it's so funny as they're clearly rattled at that point. I've yet to see a group go round a third time, but I'm hopeful. It always makes me laugh.
What's even better is when they're filming outside amongst the public and people stop to stare at 'fight'/'love/kiss scene' or the cameras! Then they start filming it on their phones.
You mentioned most of my peeves in the article (brilliant article btw); but here's a few more....these literally drive me insane and are in order of the abuse I sling at my laptop screen in annoyance.
1. - the 'Goldfish Lip Bump' kiss makes me howl in outrage - even MARRIED couples are doing it in dramas now....like do they even have sex and kiss like that? I've seen BEST FRIENDS kiss better.
2. - 'we'll be together in the next life' or 'I hope we meet in the next life'......really? THAT'S your solution to being forced to part? Just GIVE.UP and rely on some stupid saying about something that may not even HAPPEN? Why not REBEL? Tell interfering others (even family, yes I'm going there) to shove it and be with the one you love - especially if the only reason not to is they're poor,/you're poor/the inlaws hate you for nothing other than you exist (the latter is my problem actually, and me and mine are doing fine...ooh that rhymes!)
Anyway, what I mean is WHY rely on something that we have no guarantee of? The other saying that makes INVENT curse words is "I'll see you in the afterlife..no one will part us then.." well, no - of course they won't, because you'll both be DEAD...I literally facewall at these parts, sometimes even facetabling because facepalming just isn't enough.
3. - SLS - seriously, NOT every woman wants a bullying jerk who, after she's 'changed' him (meaning she yells at him a bit and pretends they're 'over' where upon she uses the Second Lead to make The Jerk (name trademark pending) jealous for around ten seconds), is STILL The Jerk but apparently he's now 'sweet/kind/loving' enough that she's happy (even though he's basically the same - except he calls her "MINE" like some retrograde neanderthal every time she even looks for the exit, which she says is his 'love' for her shining through....yeah, right (and yes, I also know you can't say without sounding sarcastic...it's why I said it.)
So that makes it fine for her to throw over the GENUINELY sweet, kind and loving Second Lead who is MADLY and COMPLETELY in love with her to go off with The Jerk (patenty thing...whatever) . I am specifically looking at you Jan Di in Boys Over Flowers, and Kotoko from the InK franchise (though in most it seems Irie really did love his Kotoko....eventually). But Boys Over Flowers - my stars, I STILL bleed in my heart for Joon Ji Hoo. PLEASE can we have a few dramas where we DON'T see The Jerk (NTM blah) STEAL the girl for a change? Can we see NICE guys finish FIRST for once?! I am done watching my heart and soul bleed all over my laptop whilst Lead Female flings a 'what heart?' over her shoulder with a smile as she stomps on the Second Lead's sad little heart and GRINDS it into the dirt as she skips off with The Jerk......even as he's already yelling at her.
4. - 'Treat 'em mean, to keep 'em keen' - technically I suppose this should come under SLS, but it's slightly different I think enough to have it's own 'I HATE this' section. Women and girls, for the majority of us, do NOT like, nor want, to be treated like clingy scum that needs slapping (verbally mostly, but emotionally most often) by males - it does NOT under any and all circumstances 'keep us keen'. In Dramaland it might - but not really; I have this overwhelming urge to not only punch the males.....in the face.....with a VERY large concrete block, but also the stupid females that are happy to be treated like that.
To all drama addicted males out there a word of warning - if YOU treat women like they are scum and worthy only of your derision and who should then be thankful you're even paying them attention then you WILL find us kicking your man parts so far up into your body that your ancestors will be the only ones able to have your babies......NOTHING will be forthcoming in this world. Also, we will bury you somewhere distant, lonely and where you will NEVER be able to have female company in a biblical way EVER, so really the first punishment won't matter much. On the up side you will be able to sing Falsetto in operas globally so you might get rich, but it'll be small comfort I'm sure knowing you have to pee out of your tear ducts.
5. Ugly Love Interest - As an Ugly (as their Queen actually) I want a girl to get a guy WITHOUT having plastic surgery/weight loss/wardrobe overhaul/make up overhaul (any or all of the above) - I also want REAL Uglies used and NOT beautiful women with freckles and gorgeous curls being called Ugly instead . THEY are NOT ugly - you want to see REAL ugly, come talk to me. I'm referring to many dramas; but extreme culprits are She Was Pretty (she was from the start thank you - Editor Kim, you were my hero because you loved her first when she was natural, not after the 'make over'), and Pretty Li Hui Zhen. You do all know that the adorably cute and shy Sheng Peter in real life is replaced with an android for his acting parts right?
6. Homes - this is just petty I know but it still bugs the hell out of me. How do they all have such HUGE houses and apartments? I mean I watch documentaries and news shows from East Asia; in the cities most families, let alone couples and singletons, are living in 'compact housing' the size of a postage stamp. So how does Dramaland explain a low paid salary person lives in a largish apartment with multiple rooms and his boss lives in a large house and the big boss (but NOT company owner) lives in a damn mansion?

The trailer looks awesome and with shison Jun (as Yuzu here) I'm sure it will be really good. He was so wonderful as transgender Ogawa Miki in Joshi-teki Seikatsu (aka Life as a Girl). I think he's a real upcoming star with the same level of skills as Suda Masaki.

I recently saw Campus Confidential. It was hilarious!
It really was - but there were a few touchingly sad moments when the girl was just plain nasty to Chen Bolin's character. But yeah there were a LOT of really funny moments too.
