hahahhah///////////// But then nagging sister is also a pain in the ass.... WHAT can we do than ENDURE..........…
Daegon - Yeah but nagging is not as bad as ruining your sister's love life. Plus doesn't he realise that if she gets married she will leave and live with he husband and her useless brother can waste his life as much as he likes then? He should be HELPING her. lol!
There's another you might like - it's a remake of Always (aka Always Only You with So Ji Sub). It's called Sadece Sen and it was wonderful. I cried as much as with the Korean original and it's equally my favourite with the original....maybe even edges it slightly as it has very much less melodramatic in the final quarter of the film.
I'm British and I HATE sad endings too, especially BL sad endings - I always expect more from Thai BL dramas as,…
Hey don't worry - it's nice to hear from you whenever you can find the time to reply! I hope you and your boyfriend are fine. :)
Oh I got so mad at Gii over that friend of theirs who was dying! He chases Takumi no matter what, but the other kid couldn't do the same for someone HE loved?! So what if he skipped school for a day? Gii regularly broke the rules with Takumi in the next movie by having him stay over in his private room (or it might've been the one after) but that's okay? Ugh, he could be so hypocritical sometimes. lol!
Oh no, I would NEVER hate you - each to their own right? If we all agreed lordy but the world would be boring! lol! Plus there's no point watching something you're uncomfortable with. Besides, I do take your point about HIStory 2: Right or Wrong. I don't think it would've been so uncomfortable in places if they'd had a younger actor who was a little more comfortable with the kissing; as it was it was a little....awkward to watch. Also I think it was only 10 years between Shi Yi Jie and Fei Sheng Zhe.
But I take your point and I think it's also a factor if the younger partner is very mature in their outlook and/or the older partner is very young. Sam Taylor-Wood and her husband have a 23 year age gap and yet they're blissfully happy with 2 kids. So it's really down to the individuals I think (and that they're consenting adults too of course). I have form though - my husband is 5 years older than me and my late uncle was 16 years older than my aunt when they married. So I do see both sides of the fence on this one.
Certainly with Right or Wrong it could be awkward to watch - so much so, that I tended to skip the kissing parts when watching it again after it was subbed. It was just toe-curling and not in a good way. ;) lol!
Oh Obsessed has to be my all time favourite of the HIStory series! The dark haired guy was definitely 'get what I want' persistent you're right, but it was good none the less. The kissing....wow!! I blushed!! LOL!! I've had a sheltered life. XD
I keep meaning to watch AB - I put it off because there was a threat it was going to be bromanced to hell as they were going to make the guys BROTHERS at the end.....so, INCEST is better than being GAY? yeah, no NOT in my world. Thankfully that didn't happen. Yup, UNcut of all the BLs around if you trawl youtube right? lol!
We hoped to take our girlie to South Korea for her 21st this year, sadly money and time are not on our side....now we're just hoping to get her tickets to see her Kpop idol band she loves (BTS) when they come to the UK in October instead for it. Pray for me, because I seriously don't know if they'll come here again in my lifetime! XD
Take care and hug that boyfriend of yours from me - you two are adorable. :)
Technically it's not release until 27th of this month. However, a few months ago China made a raft of new 'modesty…
RJ_Jacob101 -- Thank you. I think the most serious case in point with the examples you've given was Addicted (aka Heroin). The two leads are STILL banned from appearing together in public and, because of their very pro LGBT stance after the webdrama released, they were banned from EVERYTHING for two years in China.
I think Xu Wei Zhou went on a singing tour round Thailand, but I think it's only been recently that Huang Johnny has returned to acting properly (I'm currently watching him in The Love Knot: His Excellency's First Love and he's BRILLIANT in it). I also understand that Xu Wei Zhou is going to be playing the Second Lead in a Chinese drama to be released later this year.
But their careers were basically destroyed by the censors for NO other reason than they were whole-heartedly behind the Addicted project and backed the production and crew up when they refused to end the second season tragically as the censors wanted (which is why it was cancelled and banned).
I understand TianQi's point and of course no one wants to hear others being nasty about their country.....but, as you point out, China is VERY negative to the LGBT community. The fact that Yi Ping is now 'president for life' with no hope of removing him or his underlings via democratic means is worrying. I'd feel the same if similar were to happen here in the UK - it's NOT a democracy when someone finds a way to be in charge forever.
I've watched it today, I did really liked it! It's very recommendable.
Haruka -- Oh don't worry, I LOVE spoilers! So long as he doesn't die......he doesn't right? lol!! A shame he goes to prison for something he DIDN'T do - hopefully they let him out quickly! Yup definitely my bias, I'm already invested and I've not even seen more than the trailer yet!! XD XD
Oh God, wait....is it a sad ending? I can't watch if it is.....the description sounded so positive though.......…
Thanks for the info GGib - I will definitely watch it, I can handle some sad moments rather than a tragic ending. Having health issues myself I know not every day will be sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, so some honesty is nice.....it's the sad endings that kill my heart though; and there seems to be so many of those lately.
Thailand's Kiss Me is the best adaptation for me. The characters are very likeable especially the female lead.…
Likewise - what I loved about it was that Taliw (Kotoko) wasn't useless at EVERYTHING she touched. TenTen (Irie) was NOT just evil for kicks and giggles (which was the reason the 2012 Japanese version is my no.2) and King (SL) was not the 'comic relief' he'd been in all the other versions but was actually a SERIOUS threat to TenTen. Also TenTen's mum wasn't some crazed stalker - but just a mum who loved her sons a bit too much and who saw Taliw for the sweet, loving girl she was. Likewise Taliw's dad wasn't an idiot and the story was completely more believable for all the little changes. I LOVED it. The chemistry between the three main leads made it even more convincing.
There was supposed to be a second series - but it doesn't look like it's happening now; I suppose they'll reboot it again (like the Taiwanese version, tragically, did) with a completely different cast. A shame because the original cast worked so well together - ALL of them.
I have to say that I think 'A Love So Beautiful' is also very like InK - cold, super smart guy (who also becomes a doctor) rejects and rebuffs dim girl who adores him....only for her best, dim, male friend to chase her too; cue many misunderstandings that are almost identical to InK......I mean seriously - the author of the book says its apparently based on her 'real life' love story....is she honestly saying she LIVED Itazura na Kiss then?!! XD
There's a few, a really FEW, differences to the original InK trope (probably so she won't get completely accused of plagiarism) but actually LESS than say there was in Kiss Me. For most of us who've read the manga, watched the anime and sat through EVERY.SINGLE.VERSION repeatedly so we can recite EACH variation of the plot in our sleep (and probably do) we can see the many, Many, MANY GLARING similarities between A Love so Beautiful and the InK franchise like shining neon signs immediately. Us devotees of the InK world just laugh at those who say, "oh but A Love So Beautiful' is different in a few ways to InK.....and the author says it's not InK and instead based on her own real life love story".....yup and Kiss Me is MORE different than ALSB and yet THAT is still part of the InK franchise. So yeah, to me and others, ALSB is basically one of the versions (admitted or not).
Naoki did die, I hated it. I don't understand why he had too. I get the siblings thing but I don't think he acted…
Likewise - I liked him so very much and their connection was definitely soulmates. I really despised the writer after that because it added NOTHING to the story and was such a pointless plot twist. So yeah, we stick with ours! :)
For all you know, some of the commenters might be survivors of sexual harassment or assault. I'm tired of people…
Heathenkitties - I AM a survivor or domestic abuse and rape at the hands of an ex boyfriend. Yet I would rather leave it to the COURTS to PROVE his guilt than just take it to the court of Media and Netizens. Justice is IMPORTANT, but these days EVERY man is automatically guilty and EVERY woman is automatically innocent.
NOT the truth though is it? A guy here in the UK recently killed himself because his girlfriend abused him, but when he tried to complain NO ONE believed him and actually some thought SHE was the victim. So he killed himself, he hung himself as I recall. She only got a year and that was suspended, for ABH.
So we can NEVER go the other way and see ALL women as innocent victims and ALL men as abusers. MEN can be abused and harrassed too - they can be killed by women too. It doesn't matter about the difference in statistics; it matters that a false accusation can ruin someone's life, can drive them to suicide or even that a MALE victim will die because NO ONE believes him.
We should seek JUSTICE on the wrongdoers, NOT persecute the entire gender. I didn't blame the ENTIRE male population of the world because of the actions of one sicko. I am happily married for nearly 26 years to my hero who proves NOT all men are monsters. I'm also sure there's more like him out there.
Besides, if we say a drunk woman cannot be held responsible for her actions then we cannot say the drunken man IS responsible for his. Double standards are NOT acceptable. There is NO SUCH THING as 'positive discrimination' to 'even the balance.' Justice, like democracy, is for EVERYONE EQUALLY. If a victim was male, female, straight, LGBT, or an alien from the Planet Zog I would STILL DEMAND they get fair and equal treatment. THAT is the ONLY thing we should be fighting for.
I've watched it today, I did really liked it! It's very recommendable.
Haruka - is Saito Takumi the genuine bad guy as the trailer implies? I hope not as he's my bias. But I'll still watch it; just wanted to know if I'm going to be sad. lol!
Tamaki Hiroshi's always good, it's going to be nice to see him in such a serious drama for once. Can't wait for it either. :) Are we thinking his feelings for his adopted sister are more than brotherly or genuinely just trying to protect someone he does see as only a sibling? Oh well, will have to wait for it to hit the sites....or youtube; we're into May so it should be soon hopefully. :D
Vkookminj -- just a shout out to an ARMY. I'm an ARMY mum, my daughter is ARMY - her bias is Namjoon, her bias…
Basically that too many people are willing to condemn someone JUST because they are a man accused by a woman. The #MeToo is basically labelling ALL men as sexual predators WITHOUT evidence or trial. As a victim myself I understand that justice is needed, BUT justice IS what is required NOT just trial by media and netizens. NOT all men are automatically guilty. Also I've heard people say that a woman cannot be held accountable for her actions when drunk - yet here we are saying a man can be. THAT is double standards and THAT is NOT acceptable.
Hopefully that makes my point clearer. Sorry, two strokes and mild brain damage from the second one means I sometimes struggle to make a point. What makes sense in my head doesn't always come out as clearly in practice. Sorry.
Last Winter We Parted -- Saito Takumi, that's all I need to know; not only my bias but I have NEVER seen anything he's done and not liked it. So this is a definite for me.
Thanks for this article! there's others too that I will be putting on my Plan To Watch list. :)
