There's more than 'suggested bromance' as one reviewer put it, this is basically BL. So I would say that whilst I loved it, as I do most if not all BL, if Boys Love is not your cuppa then steer clear. Admittedly it's not as obvious here as in the book - the book was BRILLIANT and I think it's translated on Wattpad I'm sure that's where I read it - but it's still BL and NOT'bromance'. I'd give a solid 8/10 because it changed the obvious BL to guess the BL because China doesn't accept Gay........their loss.
I gave it 9.5 because of the sad ending; they could've given it a positive one with no detriment to the story. That said the main leads were excellent and really had you investing in them and their relationship. The other actor who was very good was Wakaba Ryuya who played Daiki, the autistic brother.
I'm level 5 - I'm 52 so most of my fangirling is actors my own age (with a few I could be accused of 'cougaring' as they're in their late 30s- mid to late 40s); the rest I just worry if they're warm enough and eating well (same with my liking of BTS; they all look too thin to me). However, my daughter, aged 20, is definitely a Level 4 with aspirations to become a Level 1 (so long as she can bypass the crazy levels). But ONLY with Namjoon (rapmon) from BTS. XD XD
I watched the anime and read the manga. He's straight and he's in love with her.
Thanks so much for that heads up. I will definitely go and watch the anime and probably read the manga too, now I know it's a romance right to the end. :D
wtf they have feelings for each other why not together? and he's become a mong o'o just whyy??
because he's more concerned what people will think of him if he admits he's gay. So basically runs away - out in Asia (particularly in China and Korea) it's VERY frowned upon to be part of the LGBT community. Some stand up to this, often violent, disapproval but others (like Wen) run away from it if they feel they can't lie and say they're straight and just spend their lives pretending.
Hey at least you have it subbed - most people can't even do that. I can't. Hell, I wouldn't even know where to start. However, I am learning Japanese and Korean - so watching stuff raw is becoming less of an issue! lol!
Can you give me a hint as to what to look for in the end to know which version I'm looking at? I totally agree…
In the slasher version of Possession - the ending has them confront each other in the basement prior to it all going wrong and goes into the 'horror ending'. In the lovely ending they end up in his shed/workshop. Hope that helps without telling you too much. ????
Yes the American version of Hana Yori Dango didn't get beyond episode 2 or 3 as I recall. I think you can find the first episode online nowadays, so if you want to watch something to drive you insane, that should be top of your list! lol!
